Beschreibung
The Community is a christian community (Roman Catholic) with an ecumenical vocation, which grew out of a prayer group in Lyon, France. Couples, families and celibates, men and women, have chosen community life to follow Christ and serve the Church and the world. We give our lives to Unity. Everyone is welcome! You don't need to be a religious person to come help us, but we ask you to respect our faith as we respect others'. We encourage dialog and a simple lifestyle.
At the Abbey we have a bio farm with livestock, an orchard, a cheese factory, a confectionary, and many other activities. We live a life of prayer and work in order to discover the richness of fraternity and sharing. We are about 50 people living at the Abbey from 15 different countries.
Nous sommes une communauté religieuse (catholique) à vocation œcuménique, elle est née d'un groupe de prière à Lyon (France). Couples, familles, célibataires consacrés hommes et femmes ont choisi l’aventure de la vie communautaire à la suite du Christ pour se mettre au service de l’église et du monde. Nous donnons notre vie pour l'Unité. Tous sont bienvenus ! Vous n'avez pas besoin d'être une personne religieuse ou croyante pour venir nous aider, mais nous vous demandons de respecter notre foi comme nous respectons celle des autres. Nous encourageons le dialogue et une simplification de vie.
À l'Abbaye nous avons non seulement une ferme bio avec de l'élevage, une fromagerie, un verger et une confiserie, mais aussi beaucoup d'autres chantiers de rénovation. Une vie au calme, entre le travail et la prière, ainsi que l'opportunité de découvrir la richesse de la fraternité et du partage. Nous sommes environ 50 personnes habitant à l'abbaye et nous venons de 15 différents pays.

You'll have the chance to do tasks with others, with people from other countries and who speak different languages. However, our liturgy and daily life are mostly in French. You'll be invited to share your experiences and to discover a simple lifestyle in the French countryside.
Vous aurez l'opportunité de travailler avec d'autres, avec des personnes d'autres pays et qui parlent d'autres langues. Unterkunft
We offer individual single rooms. Sharing your room with another workaway volunteer might be asked of you if we lack space. The toilets and showers are located in the hallway nearby and are shared. We expect you to clean your room and to participate in the cleaning of the showers and toilets.
We offer you the main meals (breakfast, lunch and diner) and also snacks.
We have unlimited internet connection available.
We also have the possibility to accommodate couples in a small apartment (get in touch with us first).
Alcohol and smoking are not allowed in the rooms.
As we are a big Abbey with a lot of things to discover, we ask the workawayers to stay a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 6 weeks.
Nous proposons des chambres individuelles. Parfois, il peut vous être demandé de partager votre chambre avec un(e) autre bénévole workaway s'il manque d'espace. Les chambres sont petites, mais correctes. Les toilettes et les douches se trouvent dans le couloir et sont partagées. Nous vous offrons aussi les repas (petit-déjeuner, déjeuner et dîner) ainsi que le goûter.
Nous avons une connexion Internet illimitée disponible.
Nous avons aussi la possibilité d'accueillir des couples dans un petit appartement (contactez-nous d'abord).
L'alcool et la cigarette ne sont pas permises dans les chambres.
Puisque nous sommes une grande abbaye avec beaucoup de choses à découvrir, nous proposons un séjour d'un minimum de 2 semaine et maximum 6 semaines.

For those who want, we invite you to participate in our prayer times and masses (even if you are not a christian).
The nearest train station is 5 Km from the abbey and you can be in Lyon in 45 minutes. We can also lend bikes at the abbey to go for a ride.
Pour tous ceux qui le veulent, nous vous invitons à participer à nos temps de prière et aux messes (même si vous n'êtes pas chrétien).
La gare la plus proche est à 5 Km de l'abbaye et vous pouvez être à Lyon en 45 min. Vous pouvez aussi utiliser des vélos de l'abbaye pour une petite balade.

We had a great experience hosting Mina (Chien) at the abbey. She is very discrete, sociable, calm and at the same time very open and curious. Having the chance to get to know someone from a different culture is always a great joy for us. Thanks you for the time you've spent with us and for your help.

this is one of my favorite workaway experience by so far, i stay here for one month and I love the environment, It's away from the city so I feel quiet peaceful and quiet all the time, but never boring or lonely.

This was a superb workaway in my opinion. It’s certainly a more peaceful option then most on the list. Work is usually very nice at about 18-21 per week with a lot of variety to keep things interesting.
