    Description

Our farm is a gorgeous community property on Salt Spring Island, 18 acres with various families and residents.
Your main host is Freyja the owner, and various other community members.
This hobby farm has extensive apple orchards and we are working on establishing a permaculture food forest system here by planting a wide variety of fruit and nut trees, bushes, shrubs and berries with herbs and vegetable gardens interspersed. Some of the first trees we planted are coming to fruition, but it is a life long project!

Spring is here! And with it lots of work.
Shoveling compost, preparing garden beds, starting seedlings, spring cleanup, planting shrubs and trees, fixing fences, is among the first spring tasks.

Trade is 25 hours/week for accommodation with meals.
Most of the tasks are quite physical, so please be prepared to use your muscles!
    No dogs please.
This season we are hoping for longer term work traders to have less turnover. We will want to do a trial to make sure that it is a good fit, but are encouraging stays of a month or more.
