    Description

My name is Laura. I worked at the university as a lecturer of the Italian language for several years.
Currently, I work in a different field, but I am also studying.
At the end of the last year (2023), I bought this little house at the lake, half concrete made (ground floor), and half wooden made (first floor). It's my first "sweet home" and a peaceful place to stay and to study, far away from the traffic and the noises of the town.
For me, this cottage is a little paradise and shortly I would like to use it for some social purposes like a "summer camp" for young people with special needs (teenagers on the Spectrum, for example).
In the last year, I have been renovating the wooden first floor of the cottage. However, some little things remain to be done, such as painting the balcony/terrace fence, painting the external walls, building a wooden fence on the sloped land, and simple/rough stairs and/or a wooden deck on the super-steep land around the house.
The garden is a messy piece of steep land, more than a garden.
There are some olive trees to take care of, and in spring and summer I would need some help with cutting grass, as well as with stair construction.
Experts in green maintenance/gardening/green design will be very welcome; the land shape (so steep!) is not simple to cope with. Carpenters and experts in construction of retaining walls will be very welcome, as well. I will prioritize construction experts' stay requests.

NOTE: I can not host people without specialistic knowledge/skills in construction and gardening as I really need professional guidance.

Some other information about the place: behind the cottage, there is a forest. A short walk will take you to the top of the hill where you can enjoy silence and a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains. A 20-minute walk will take you to Lake Iseo, with its mountains and Montisola island in the middle, as well as many lovely places to visit. Sulzano, the village where it is located, is a good starting point for exploring Lake Iseo, the Franciacorta area, the Valcamonica mountain area, the Alps, and the Lombardy region. At the lake, you can enjoy fish cuisine, canoeing, cycling, warm temperatures from April to October, and many one-day trips around the lake.
You can use a mountain byke or the train. The railway station is at 15-20 minutes walk.

    Help

I need help to fix a problem with a rain water leakeage on the groundfloor.
I would need guidance to fix it.
Gardening (grass cutting, managing invasive plants, simple stairs building, or a wooden deck, mainly), painting the iron-made frame/structure of the terrace/balcony, painting the external walls, and other little things related to the daily maintenance of the cottage.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

The house has a bedroom for my family and a bedroom for 1-2 guests. There is a bathroom on the first floor to be shared. On the first floor, there is also a large terrace with a panoramic view of the lake and the mountains, a kitchen, a sitting space, and my studying space.
The workawayer can cook on his/her own or together with me from Friday to Monday. I work for 3 days per week far away from the place, and I am away from home on those days. So the lunch and the dinner too in those days should be arranged by the guest himself/herself, autonomously. I work at home for the rest of the week, from Friday to Monday.
The guest-workawayer should have a certain grade of autonomy. I would like he/she to help me with cooking and cleaning too, because my impression about some previous experiences is that my guests thought to be in a hotel...but it is not...I need help with daily things too like cooking and cleaning.
Note: I am not a chatty person, and I love silence and some time alone.
