    Description

Friends and I moved to this place in 2017 from Southern California. We got tired of the rat race, the crowded freeways and the wildfires. We wanted a bigger, natural space, a more free way of life and we were in desperate need of water... No joke!!

Our vision is to turn this few acres into a community, a place where our friends can come to retreat, relax, eat, get healthy, have fun and feel welcomed.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our goal is to build trusting, mutually beneficial relationships with our new friends through determination and hard work, so you may always have a place to return to, a place you can feel happy, a place you can feel welcomed, a place you can call home.
    (away from home!)

We love to have visitors any time of year but during the Summer is the most busy time when everything is growing. Since a medicinal garden was planted, I would love to show someone who is new to herbal medicine how to harvest and process the herbs to make into medicine, as well as preserving other goodies from the garden via canning or dehydrating.

Our property is abundant and I believe we can all thrive on such abundance, but requires everyone pitching in (no slack!) and in turn, abundance flows in a circle!
I know with the right people, we can create a home with all the growth, support and warmth of a traditional space.

Looking to make new friends to have fun and get a few acres of land ready for gardening and living spaces!

A small fruit and nut tree orchard with medicinal plants and herbs was planted when we first arrived, but much more needs to be done, so we're looking for strong people who can handle WORKING HARD and PLAYING HARD!

That being said, there are Type A personalities that live here! We like to get our work done, and usually don't take days off unless absolutely necessary. We only expect 25 hours per week from our guests, but please know that we are likely still working when you've completed your commitments.

We had one of 3 tiny cottages built, which needs finishing. We're also renovating the main cabin to make it more comfortable, with new flooring and paint. CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE A HUGE PLUS!

There's lots to do here, from expanding the food forest by clearing more land, planting more fruits, nuts, veggies, flowers, chopping and stacking wood, taking care of the chickens and ducks, making compost, and overall maintenance of the property.

This is in exchange for a beautiful place to retreat, relax, eat healthy and most definitely create a symbiotic relationship that benefits all of us.

Come join us and let's create an amazing place together!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Located 1800 feet in elevation up on the Cumberland Plateau, we are in a rural location, 30 minutes from Chattanooga and the South Cumberland State Park is in our backyard.

It's wild out here! There are mountain lions, black bear, bobcat, deer and venomous snakes. No fences!
Foster Falls is the nearest waterfall and swimming hole, 3 mi down the road, you can drive or hike there from the property.

Many other waterfalls, springs, streams and lakes are nearby, as well as hiking/biking trails and of course water sports like boating, kayaking and paddle boarding, extreme sports like rock climbing, motorcycle riding, skydiving and hang gliding are also in the area!
