Description
Hi! I’m a single mother with two lovely daughters—one is almost 4 years old, and the other is 7. We also share our home with a 15-year-old cat. Our family is very friendly and welcoming. My girls are energetic, lively, a little bit mischievous, and they love to talk and play! I hope you are someone who enjoys being around children and is happy to spend time playing with them.
During your stay, I will need your help with general housework and preparing breakfast and dinner for us on weekdays. On weekends and holidays, you’ll have your own free time, or you're welcome to join us for activities if you’d like.
I work partly at a museum as an environmental education instructor and also take on government projects and help organize community market events. Occasionally, I have to work on weekends—on those days, I may ask for your help with the children. Of course, I will always communicate with you in advance.
We live in Luodong, Yilan, where daily life is convenient and peaceful. There are buses that go to many local attractions. If you enjoy cycling, we have a bike you can use. Yilan is a beautiful region surrounded by both mountains and ocean. If you love outdoor adventures, this is a great place to explore and experience nature.

Our home close to the train station and bus station. You can take transportation to travel everywhere in Yilan or Taiwan. My children and I like to do outdoor activities or travel during holidays. You are welcome to join us and I can drive you together . The work I do is related to the environment and culture. I can chat with you and share Taiwanese culture. Sometimes I also cook and we can have a meal together.

You need to make breakfast and dinner on weekdays, therefore you may interest in cooking. Sometimes please playing and reading with my children on daily life. Help with simple household chores such as tidying up and hanging laundry,fold the clothes. I need a female workawayer only. I usually have class on Mon. evenings or sometimes on weekends, please help me to take care two children.

The transportation here is convenient. You can take trains and buses to travel to other counties and cities. There are also many trails within the territory for hiking, or near the beach for surfing in Yilan . Of course, you can also enjoy a city trip in Taipei City.

I stayed with Yuru and her 2 daughters for 2 weeks in April 2025. Yuru is a very pleasant person and the young girls are very loving. The home is emaculate and Yuru wishes to keep it that way. There is a very nice , well arranged room for the workaway volunteer with a bathroom right outside your room. There is a 14 year old cat in the home The… read more workaway is ideal for someone who may want to do online work during the day. After they leave at 8:30am there is not too much to do after tidying up the home, hanging the wash and cleaning the kitchen. (She will expect you to have done a good job and follow directions, however her directions were not always clear). There are approximately 50 steps to their 4th floor apartment so consider the amount of luggage you may be traveling with if you accept this site. Yuru will help you. Further, part of the duties will require you to discard the garbage on designated nights at a passing garbage truck. You are notified by a bell ring(similar to an ice cream truck) when in the area and the designated garbage must be taken down and given to them. You will not be alone as several neighbors stand outside waiting for the truck. There are perhaps 2 nights when there is no discard of waste.
I found the work required to be done in the home manageable; not complicated at all. Communications however were sometimes misunderstood and misinterpreted. There was a language barrier which in my estimation caused our communications and understanding of what Yuru wanted to be done to be misunderstood. The language communicated to me was not what I understood in the English language. I think Yuru was correct, that it takes about 1 week for the volunteer to fully understand all that is requested. She has certain places that she keeps things(no one else knows this) and this needs to be communicated. She wants breakfast to be prepared for them which is packed and taken with them and dinner should be prepared when they return at 6:30pm. This is understandable. I am very use to a person setting out or telling me what they want prepared for dinner and even breakfast and this was not always clear to me. We worked past that point and I would simply get clear directions at night or early morning . Yuru was always very good about giving directions and helping you get from point to point in the city. There is a free bus into the city a short distance from her home. She will even map out where you want to go. Finally, in the evening the children are permitted to play with all types of games, puzzles, paints and etc., until very late evening each night to perhaps 10:30pm. Simply tidy up in the morning if Yuru has not completed. It is a joy to see children happy and engaged. Yuru is doing a great job and simply needs a helping hand in some areas. She will tell you if there is something that is not done to her satisfaction. I would highly recommend this stay, a very comfortable, clean , enjoyable and loving family. I was even able to meet Yuru's parents and have a few discussions with them. Thank you Yuru, Lulu and Co Co.
