  Next time helpers needed from mid June throughout the summer /autumn 2025, Contact us after mid May, before that we cannot really make specific plans.
  
  Our place is located between Turku and Helsinki in the village of Karjalohja on a beautiful hill with a view over fields with crops and horses. Only with a 7 minutes walk you reach the shore of the clean protected Enäjärvi Lake, where we do fishing, rowing, sailing, swimming, picnic, or take tours to the islands. Big forests with berries and mushrooms also surround us. You reach the Turku-Helsinki express bus stop in 15 minutes with our biogas car. To reach the nearest small village with shop, library, spa, etc. takes 12 minutes by car and 35 minutes on bicycle.
  
  Now this place serves our circle of partners and friends and we hope that one day it can also serve a larger circle. Eventually, it can also become an artist residence and an experimental ground for artistic, ecologic and holistic lifestyle development.
  
  The project
  We are developing an old farm into an ecological partly self-sustainable unit. We keep a biodynamic garden and do experiments in recycling and the use of renewable energy sources.
  
  The crew is a group of individuals, partners and friends who all share interest in global consciousness, ecological, aesthetic, ethic sustainable living, thinking globally locally, power of art music, drama and narratives. We are working in the fields of arts, academics, environmental activism, locally and internationally.
  
  The house has been throughouly renovated including the kitchens, the sauna, the compostable toilets, the solar power heating systems - everything is already in good use. In one special spacious and light room we do yoga, meditate, celebrate, make music, dance and gather.
  
  Practicalities
  We can accommodate volunteers in cosy summer rooms in the other buildings in our beautiful yard. We will provide food, housing and offer a stay in our special and friendly environment. We hope you will contribute with around 5 hrs. help input per day. The weekends are free. Often we make picnics or excursions to interesting places, attend local cultural events or just relax on our beach or in the hammock.
  We can take from 3- 4 volunteers.
  
  Applicants please write and let us know what area of activity you are interested in, when you can come and other basic info. For many years on other volunteering platforms, but are new on Workaway.
  We prefer that volunteers come for a minimum of two weeks.

  Following area of skills can easily be developed here:
  - organic gardening
  - all kind of wood work from chopping wood, house building to carving traditional decorations
  - easy mechanics like serving bicycles and garden tools
  - artistic skills like singing, dancing (by doing - we do not really teach skills…)
  - welfare philosophy, communication and dialectics in our meetings, etc.
  - wild food knowledge, fishing and camping in wilderness.
  - the art of being internationally together, communicating own interests and needs, listening to others, contributing to the group

  Arbeit

  We need helping hands with developing our workshop, assisting in various small building projects, painting and fixing, taking care of the garden, helping out in the kitchen, collecting and storing harvest and keeping everything clean, nice and fresh.
  Tell us what you would like do do or learn and we will find the right tasks for you.
  We usually get tasks done all together or in teams, as it is more fun that way.

  Unterkunft

  One cosy wagon house for one, one nice summer room divided in two, one person’s room in the house. We have a great well equipped summer kitchen for making food, meals and gathering and the beautiful yoga room for music making, chilling, yoga etc
  We often heat the great sauna and our beach and lake are fantastic hang-outs too.

  We have many bicycles to discover the area, boats to move on the lake, instruments to play, forests to pick berries and mushrooms.
  Our experience is that any group that forms here becomes like a family. Many have become life-long friends and some come back another year
