Welcome to my house named after my beloved grandma, a big family house that was passed on to me, a forced to settle bohemian that would love to turn it into an open creative space to share, mingle and chill.
For now I turned into a bnb/homestay as to pay for the heavy renovation, but I'd love to turn it slowly into something like a non religious spiritual or philosophical retreat where people can care the garden, chickens or other animals (when i get the chance to get some), meditate, give yoga or 5 rhythm dancing classes, introspect or take time to just unwind...sharing a soul cooked meal or anything that binds us together is welcome in this mindless society...
I would love to welcome art projects around here : street art, land art...etc. Maybe even have artist residency by creating a space for them to create, collaborate and exhibit.
As for myself, been around some places, done lotsa beautiful things and experienced life in so many ways that I consider being a lucky man. Otherwise I am into yoga, photography as exhibiting or giving classes every now and then, and the rest of the time im pretty idle, bookworming, riding my skateboard,my snowboard or go trekking, I love it and also hitch hiking to nowhere in particular is my kinda game. But after all the best thing is the simplest : a good home cooked meal shared with good company, good wine and good conversation usually just makes my day.
By the way I have a vegeterian diet, close to vegan sometimes, though I never refuse an offered meal - unbeknownst to the offerer of my diet - with meat...which means I have strong conviction about it but wasting food is an offend I can't stand.
Therefore I cook veggie or vegan meals only but don't mind others knocking themselves out with meaty dish.
I get most of my veggie from an organic farmer friend of mine so local and seasonal is most of my diet.

As of January 2017 :
Arty and handy hands are more required as the house interiors near completion, now it's all about maintaining, cleaning, furnishing and decorating! An all rounder with skills is welcome!
- It's a big house plonked on 1250m2 of terrain, a little pond dots the east side of it so during warmer climate seasons, we tend to work outside, gardening, landscaping, earthmoving and so on.... so physical work is what's done most then.
I'd love to create a water area, digging other little ponds out, filling out the one overgrown and too big...we will need to excavate the pipe that brings the spring in, so lotsa modifications.
- Need to level the soil around the house to a smooth flat area where people can flow, float and wander around it, chill and stuff, so that's physical and somehow quite introspect in its repeatitive pattern of hard work. (I enjoy doing it ;)...)
- The garage is where the next move inside is scheduled so I plan on doing a nice flat slab of concrete that I will be able to either tile or else...first we might have to knock off some concrete out.
- The attic needs also some love : some primer, some sanding, some primer again and some last sanding. Then wallpaper or painting ....
I rent some rooms during international sport, festival or cinema events and I rent the whole house during high seasons as winter skiing season and summer season so the place needs to be spot on clean all the time whether we have done work inside or outside or just for the sake of living in a sparkling house. As they say cleanliness is next to godliness!
I insist upon the house being clean! Everything in order at all time during your stay, pots and pans put away and so on, just common sense communal living style so nobody feels left out on having to clean behind the others, whether it's me, a helper or a guest...
Beds will have to be made, undone, sheets to be washed, dried and folded.
Anyway feel free to ask question about what's up at the moment of your hypothetical stay here
English, Castillano et Francais
6 double bedrooms, a tv room, a chillax room, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen/dining room with view over the mountain's ski slopes, a garage/ski room or bike room, a storage room, a backyard with a caravan where people can sleep too, a pond where people could fish if there were any and lotsa space to do yoga seshes outside on a warm sunny day, don't get too excited it is rare around here...
The Vosges range is quite low altitude wise which make it an easy place to hike most of the time, the vosgian trekking club is a very efficient and known one, treks are galore, well marked and range from strolls along some river, around some lake or through rainforest bush, to the crest route that divides the region with alsace and thats very spectacular and breathtaking.
Otherwise you get your usual waterfalls, climbing tracks and so on. Anyway you can walk 3km treks to few hundred ones.
In Gerardmer, we have a lake with all the facilities to enjoy it, bowling/swimming pool/sauna/ice ring complex, the ski resort with a couple of dozen slopes from easy to hard still remains a small one to Alps standard but as you would guess much less hassle. Some treks turn into cross country skiing tracks in winter that are free to use for one who has the gear.
Everything here is at walking distance (except ski resort) thus no need wheels, lake is 1,5km away, center 1km, and supermarkets 500m.
And if you like hitchhiking, here is a hhk friendly region so you can easily do side trips to Colmar, Munster or Épinal, even further...sky is the bloody limit!
But maybe you'd just frolick around the garden here, on a sun chair reading a book, idling, drinking a cold beer while playing dice games or just fantasizing on where you would be the next month after departing from here.
