    Description

We have made a small classroom in our home where we teach local children.
I'm Mark from England but i've lived and been teaching here for over 20 years. My wife Mint is from Sukhothai and is the secretary/boss. We have a 10 year old daughter.
We would like to share our home and hostel with people who like children and are looking to teach English and generally help out.We are looking for anybody really, but if you are confident friendly and sociable around children and can speak English well, great! You don't have to be a native speaker.
I can help with lessons and teach you some things that I've learned so this won't be a... here's the class good luck. If you are looking for a new career or have just graduated from a teaching degree or anything else then this may be a stepping stone to help you get into the business or just somewhere to have fun and learn some teaching. We have lots of teaching material and also books on teaching.

My wife can teach how to cook delicious Thai food and all about Thai culture and even the language if she has time.

I have also been doing mosaics from recycled materials so if you're interested in learning/ helping with that great.
We run a very small hostel which is where workawayers and guests stay.
Fan dormitory. If you need air-con then pay 50b a night.

(Please reply to messages as soon as possible. The workaway system shows that you have read it.)

If you take advantage of our kindness please put something in the donation box. Maybe you come and stay and we'll teach you about teaching English and mosaics and you can learn how to cook thai food but please don't forget to help us in some way.

    Help

I can teach you how to teach or if you are already a teacher then we can share experiences and knowledge. We only have one classroom at home and 8 students maximum in each class. Mostly our students are children learning English as a second language, We sometimes have private classes for university students.
If you know any games or have any board games which involve speaking or using English that would be very helpful.

We don't expect professional teachers just somebody who is enthusiastic friendly helpful and likes children.

If you could help teach a couple of hours a day great. Basic training and help is definitely provided.
You're NOT expected to teach all the classes. only conversation usually.

    Friday no classes.

The classes are all quite easy, mostly just chatting and playing games with the students.
There are also possibly private classes.

Help with cleaning about an hour or 2 is also needed especially during the week as there's only about 2 hours a day teaching.

We have fan dormitory with bunk beds, tent or mattress on the floor.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Phitsanulok is a city with about 200,000 people. There are a few waterfalls nearby and there is a very famous and beautiful temple near our place. It's on the river Nan. There are many markets and a couple of museums in town. A night bazaar and a walking street on Saturday. It's not really very touristy here but there are some nice things to see and do.

We are about 1 km from the train station.
We have bicycles which can be used.

From bus station no 1 it's about 2km.

From bus station no 2 it's about 6-7 km's so a taxi is best and would cost about 100baht.If you're coming from the north or Sukothai then ask to get off at Wat Yai temple or Topland hotel as it's not too far from us.

If there are 2 or more workers then we can't pay for your meals.

If you want to bring something for me or the kids. Classroom/board/card games are great. A cool t-shirt from your country would be nice (size M) or a well read interesting book that you enjoyed or had an impact on your life.
I'm also interested in natural ways to stay healthy, herbal food and keeping fit.All of which i'm willing to share and of course learn more about.
