    Description

    Dear travelers,

We are looking for adventurous people who would like to help out at our outdoor swimming pool and 3 tennis courts. We are located approximately one hour north of Rome.

Our home and the sports center are located in the countryside, in between two small towns to the north of Rome. The place has lots of nature and the sports center next to us includes a 25m outdoor swimming pool, 3 red clay court tennis courts, a small restaurant & cafe bar, gazebos, bathrooms/showers and quite a few green areas. The swimming pool is open to the public during June, July and August whereas the tennis courts are open year round. The summer months can be quite intense whereas the other months are much slower.

There are lots of things you can help with, depending on your skills and interests, however at the moment we would like to host someone who can help take care of the tennis courts because all of our resources will be dedicated to the swimming pool during summer. This includes watering the courts (quite often), keeping the area tidy, doing some court maintenance and if you are a tennis player or teacher we would love to have you play with our guests and members. We can also teach you to play tennis and even teach you to teach tennis if you have some experience already.

New Workaway guidelines require that if you will be helping with a business activity, hosts must offer a monetary payment for the work done, plus accommodation, to comply with local laws. You must also be legally allowed to work in the EU. The wage per hour for tennis court maintenance or working at the pool or bar will be €6 per hour.

During your free time, there are some nearby small towns such as Sant'Oreste, which is famous for it's world war II / Cold War tunnels and nice views, or there are other small towns around such as Fiano Romano and Capena, which are about 10/15 mins away by bus. There is public transportation to Rome from here and it takes about 1.5hrs to get there. The roads outside of here are winding and can be dangerous to walk on, so if you are coming here to visit Rome very frequently this may not be the best host for you. However by car it is only about 50 minutes away so if you plan on going once per week that could be realistic.

Besides visiting nearby attractions, on your free time you can also enjoy the sun, swimming, tennis, basketball, ping pong and other outdoor activities.

Primary languages are Italian and English, if you spend time helping here you will probably learn some Italian pretty quickly also while interacting with customers.

Please note that we are sometimes slow at responding and also we don’t have many spaces to host multiple people, so we are thankful for contacting us but make sure you write to several other hosts as well so you are not left waiting for our response. Thanks!

As described the place is a bit isolated, on your days off you can easily travel to Rome but it takes a bit more effort than hopping on a train (see above).
