    Description

Our generous property is in the heart of Rutherglen, a 150 year old winemaking region in Victoria, which is famous for its fortified wines and red wines. Our home is a 15 minute bike ride from the famous Murray River, which is a perfect spot for beers, a picnic or a swim. Our garden overlooks nearly 100 year old vineyards and we're a five minute walk to the main street where you'll find cafes, bakeries, wine bars, shopping, groceries and great coffee.

We have a gorgeous and cuddly border collie dog named Olive and we have a brand new garden full of native plants, a small veggie garden, and a creek.

We have a lovely little boy, Alexander, who is five years old. He's great fun, and can't wait to meet new friends. Elizabeth is three, and loves attention from visitors!

We're able to offer a queen bedroom and large bathroom with shower and bath (shared with the kids), as well as yummy home cooked dinners, bikes to borrow so you can ride around the wineries and up to the Murray River, and lots of puppy cuddles with Olive.

In exchange we're hoping to find one or two people to assist with the maintenance of our garden including, pruning, mulching, planting and general tidying. We would also appreciate help with keeping our two kids entertained on the odd occasion - walks or bike rides down to the playground, or minding while we run short errands. We'd expect 3-4 hours of help per day, 3 to 4 days per week. If it's really hot, then all you'll need to do is relax at a winery! Please note we are a non smoking household.

Our home is a 3.5 hour drive from Melbourne, and a 6.5 hour drive from Sydney. You can also reach us by train. We are a short drive from other great towns and tourist spots including Beechworth, Bright, King Valley, Milawa, Albury and the main snow resorts.

We live in paradise and look forward to sharing our little slice of heaven with you!

Living and experiencing one of Australia's oldest wine regions full of amazing Australian characters and personalities. Great gourmet food experiences, fantastic community and warm hospitality. Rutherglen is a very friendly place and is the perfect location to immerse yourself in regional Australian farming/winemaking culture.

We are also close to the major snow resorts in Victoria (about 1.5 hours drive) so our place is great if you want to fit in some skiing or snow boarding, too!

Mostly we need help in our family garden: weeding, mulching, planting, seed raising, pruning and general cleaning of the grounds and chook coop.

We would also appreciate help with our two children from time to time. This might be taking them for plays at the local park, short bike rides, or minding them while we do jobs in town.
