Description
Hello everyone!
We are a German-Italian couple (59/59) looking for two friendly and reliable people to help us with our 5000 sqm garden, located on the coast of the half-island of Monte Argentario, southern Tuscany.
Our dream is to make our garden as self-sustaining as possible, filled with lots of local Mediterranean plants that require little water and no chemicals to grow healthy. A lovely eco-friendly garden needs a lot of love and care, like accurate weeding and pruning, watering when needed and also fertilising, which we do with our own-made compost. We also have 50 olive trees, a few fruit trees and a small vineyard, which all need to be monitored.
In all this, some extra helping hands would be a great support. We have also all sorts of garden tools you could need, so experience in using and maintaining them is an advantage.
We'd love to hear your ideas about new plants that can thrive in a dry climate. And we're always on the lookout for handy people who can help with small repairs around the house. Our house has recently been renovated, but there's always room for improvement!Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
Help is mainly needed in the garden. The main tasks are removing weeds, pruning and watering the plants, composting and fertilising, keeping the paths and the garden tools shed clean and tidy. Experience with a brushcutter, hedge trimmer is a great advantage. Initiative to make improvements to the garden and repairs around the house are very welcome.

We offer hospitality in a cosy indipendent house with two spacious rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a small bathroom and a large patio overlooking the woods and the sea. The house has been recently refurbish and it has a good internet connection. The sea is very close, approx. 1km but the path is steep and the closest town Porto Santo Stefano is approximately at 5 km, therefore it is essential to have your own car.
What else ...
During your time off you will certainly enjoy a very peaceful place surrounded only by sea and nature. There are many walks you can take to explore the half island, either through the woods or along the coastline.
There is a wide choice of beaches for swimming, the nearest being just 1 km from the house. The most impressive sandy beach is at Feniglia, a protected strip of pine forest 6 km long, with the sea on one side and the lagoon on the other. The island of Giglio, a popular destination for scuba diving enthusiasts, can be reached with a daily ferry service.
You can visit the small town of Porto Santo Stefano (5km) and the picturesque harbour of Porto Ercole (10km). The nearest train station is Orbetello Scalo (8km), from where you can reach Rome in 1 hour and a half.A little more information

The internet connection is very good, we use it for work too. In the house there is a living room with a table which you can use as a desk, but even better you can use the large table outside on the patio, the internet works fine there too.
