    Description

Hi we are Elaine and Jeroen
    We are a family with 3 teenagers (boy 19 /girl 17 /boy 15)
During our younger years we travelled a lot, Elaine throughout Europe and Jeroen backpacking in Australia

Elaine moved to Western Australia from Scotland with her parents when she was 7
In her twenties Elaine lived in Perth, Sydney, Glasgow while travelling various times thought Europe
Elaine had a professional career before becoming a homestay mum while working various casual jobs
Due to unforeseen circumstances Elaine is now home full time
Elaine likes to try out new cooking and baking recipes

Jeroen (Dutch) backpacked Australia in 2000 and 2001 from West to East and North to South
Jeroen has been working in the building industry from labouring as an early teen to becoming a project manager for a large building company
Currently Jeroen has taken time away from work to concentrate on the home renovation that started many years ago
Jeroen likes to explore the Australian outback and beaches in his 4wd

We met during Jeroen backpacking days when we spend a lot of time which each other
After living together in a small country town in the Netherlands for one year we moved back to Australia late 2002 and settled in Perth Hills
Our holiday trips are generally camping trips in the natural parks, mainly in the Southwest of Australia

Having received a lot of help and assistance during our travels we feel that we need to provide and share other travellers the same knowledge and experiences which we received over al these years.
In the last couple years, we had the pleasure of welcoming various travellers into our house.
We were able to assist in their setup for their adventures and share the beautiful spots we visited.
This included all general camping and car setup to bank accounts, tax registration and ABN setups

We like to open our house to an individual or couple to work together and share each other experiences.
We are asking for assistance in and around the house
This can vary from working with Elaine in the house which can vary from cleaning to cooking and everything in-between to working with Jeroen on the house renovations which can vary from by holding the end of a stick to building complete a complete house frame
All the work is depending on what is happening at the time and the individual experiences

Sleeping arrangements will be in our 1-year-old caravan while you have full access to all amenities like the bathroom and laundry
The caravan has a queen size bed, a toilet (number 1 only) and a air-conditioning which will provide some private space and comfort on a hot day
It’s ideal for an individual, a couple or two people who don't mind sharing a bed

We are a mixture between Scotland , The Netherlands and Australia

We live in Walliston which is between the City of Kalamunda and the Carmel / Bickley valley Wine region. Both are within minutes’ drive from our house.
We are situated away from the busy of the city close to various national park perfect for hiking, mountain biking and general exploring. Living in the hills provides the quietness we were looking for while we are only 25km away from the Perth city Centre.
Going for a early morning hike or sit down at the end of the day with a cold wine or beer on the zig zag seeing the sun going down over the city and ocean. This is a beautiful place to live and visit
If you have a car, we are very close to all the major roads which makes any commutes very easy. Otherwise, public transport (bus) is on 500m away which gets you straight down the hill to High Wycombe Train stations. Perth Airport is only 11 km. We are happy to assist where required
