We are a young, energetic couple living in the beautiful village of Tignes Les Brevieres running a hospitality business that has been in the family since the 1980’s.
Alex is completely bi-lingual (French & English), a ski instructor in the winter and he is a lover of BBQs with petanque.
Roos is completely bi-lingual as well (Dutch & English), she takes care of the chalet's interior and guests year round. We are both meat eaters, enjoy a glass of wine in the evening and smoke.
There are two Siamese cats (Skye & Brev) who are very friendly. If you do not like cats or are allergic to cats this is not the workaway for you. Not just because of our cats but there are strays that live in a barn next to your accommodation.
We also have dogs visiting every now and then and we are open to having well behaved, cat friendly workaways doggies here.
Help in the house
We will consider any application at any time period for the following:
Plumber: assistance with a big list of snagging jobs
Tiler: two bathrooms to be stripped down and retiled or made in to wet rooms
Someone handy: Good with machines to try and salvage a very old ski boot warmer and make good. // Tarting up the garage (bootroom, dry Store & boiler room), deep clean, organising, painting, cladding, concreting, digging down the side of the building and waterproofing - Making furniture out of wood
IMPORTANT: We'd appreciate all workaways to give additional time towards general household help around the chalet.
English (Fluent French by Alex)
You will be staying in a two bedroom apartment at the rear of the main chalet. This has a lounge, bathroom and small kitchenette.
We are based in the wonderful Espace Killy resort that has lots of activities great for escaping the city. In the village there is plenty of hiking, mountain biking, tennis, pentaque and for keen cyclists we are in cycling distance to a number of mountain Cols including the Col D'Iseran and Petit St Bernard. There are lots of climbing spots and fantastic white water rafting a short trip down the road.
There is a French bar in the village that is always open. We often pop down tools once a week and do a hike or an activity of some sort that you are more than welcome to join us on!
We always try and work out a work plan that is flexible and fair, so you can enjoy those amazing activities in a beautiful alpine paradise.
