Have been a business owner most of my working life. As a result I’ve discovered that owning a business is like having a baby that never gets out of diapers, you must always stay on top of things. I’ve also owned several houses and have been a landlord during this period, which has served to make me necessarily handy at the maintenance end of things. I’m an empty-nester and father of two beautiful daughters, both of which are now married and gone. Raising godly children is among the proudest achievements of my life. I currently manage a marina as well as run my own business, am a licensed inland captain on the lake, boater safety instructor and on the water lake hand. When you like what you do for a living, you never really go to work, you just get things done while you enjoy life. I always try to find a fun way to work and produce the highest quality product I can.
Personally, have snow skied almost every major ski resort in America, a strong hand on both snow and water. I’ve traveled to every state in the USA other than Hawaii. Licensed private pilot, author/editor, nationwide platform hairdressing artist/sales/distributor/educator of hair salon products. Basically, when there is a job to do, I just do it.

I have hands-on experience with plumbing, wiring, heating/cooling, carpentry, landscaping, painting, etc. As I've mentioned, life experience has forced me to become skilled in a variety of occupations. As a hair salon owner/operator for the bulk of my working life, I'm more than a fair hand behind the chair. Those finite skills, developed while running real sharp tools around people’s heads, wash over into all other areas of life. My experience has served to make me more attentive to detail than most in things like painting and restoration, as well as other functions…precision in all things. An extra 15% of effort is, generally, the difference between a job that's just okay and real quality work. I believe that when one sees something that needs attention, it is best to get in front of it and fix it before it becomes a problem. That keeps business, and life running smoothly.
Experienced in bringing new products into the market place nationwide; marketing, sales-force training, distributor selection, product distribution and user education.
I have written a book on education which teaches parents how to educate their own children with minimal effort, rather than depend upon an increasingly failing school system. I teach English, both reading and writing.
Regarding the attached picture, it was taken on the deck of my salon at Gull Lake, Michigan. I, and my customers, have enjoyed this view for years. It has been a good place to live and work.
