  • Description

One multi-tasking Jack of All Trades - Jennifer + one CTO & co-owner of Manhattan & London based post production company ( www.finalframe.com ) in NYC - Sandy.

We are ready to put our skills to work supporting your work exchange project!
We are an animal loving, creative, event organizing, entrepreneurial, property and bnb owning, work exchange hosting, busy couple that loves traveling and giving back to the world.

With 61 positive workaway reviews (hosted nearly 100 people if you add others we met on the road and through Helpx), https://www.workaway.info/671111229335-en.html - on our host profile, you can easily tell that we are fully committed to the work exchange lifestyle 365 days a year. We love that we can share our love of NYC and our home with others, while also seeking their help in running our small Bnb and helping us with animal care.

On the other end of this exchange, we enjoy bartering our skills in exchange for accommodations with a great organization or family (as you can see in our reviews). We also enjoy volunteering in our local community and traveling to help at other organizations, such as All Hands and Habitat for Humanity to help with disaster relief or building projects.

Sooooo.. what skills do we offer?

Jennifer is a caregiver in many senses of that word.
Her primary income comes from tutoring 3-18 year olds in Manhattan, although she is a former teacher as well.
She currently works as a Household Manager for a prominent NYC family, managing all of their personal affairs, including: booking travel + house rentals, managing properties and a household staff, fixing or coordinating household repairs and renovations, lots of research, and arranging for children's activities.

Her secondary income comes from running a petsitting company based in NYC - www.woofwoof.nyc
Our petsitting business is robust enough that we have given up our apartment in order to petsit every night of the year - other than when we are traveling. 3.5 years rent free and counting.

Finally, Jennifer earns income from a diversity of shorter term gigs. She has served as the mastermind behind multiple office moves for companies, such as CGH - a graphic design firm that inspired Mad Men - to Jack Masey's - http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/17/realestate/17habi.html - Metaform office that was responsible for organizing important events, such as the World's Fairs in Montreal and Osaka.

A former editor and contributor to events and bartering organizations, such as www.nonsensenyc.com www.nyadventureclub.com www.ourgoods.org - Jennifer also enjoys helping organizations to plan, write about, organize, and market events and services to others interested in creative works.

Sandy is a vagabond filmmaker and successful business owner. His company, Final Frame - www.finalframepost.com - performs post production services for films and TV, such as Leonardo DiCaprio's Before the Flood, Sleepwalk With me, Obvious Child, Southern Charmed, and many, many documentaries.

His NY Times selected short film - The Last Ice Merchant, shot in Ecuador, was showcased at many international film festivals http://www.nytimes.com/video/travel/100000003554496/the-last-ice-merchant.html

Together - and with the help of our work exchangers - we have spent the last year and a half flipping a 100 year old house in Jersey City into a 4 bedroom, eco friendly Bnb - https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/15067858

This involved a lot of management and training of guests on how to perform various tasks around the house: installing shelving and crown molding, painting, interior design, woodwork, creation and installation of garden beds from salvaged wood, etc. It also involved a massive amount of coordination, planning, organizing, and scheduling to ensure that there were always enough, but not too many work exchange guests staying in the house at any given time.

We don't need much to be happy. As petsitters that move constantly from one pet owner's home to another, we regularly travel out of a backpack - and will do the same on our trip to your work exchange. We are low maintenance, independent, and reliable. We likely have experience in whatever tasks you assign us, so can be trusted and left alone to complete tasks on our own. We prefer to work together as we look forward to spending as much time as possible with each other during these trips.

We are vegan, but you don't need to be.

I'm sure you may have questions, so please feel free to drop us a line and we will be sure to return your message promptly.

    Jen and Sandy.
