Hi everyone. My name is Hui and you can call me Pheobe. I’m from China and just graduated from university this summer with a degree in E-commerce. After finishing my studies, I realized I wanted to explore different paths and discover what truly inspires me. That’s why I joined a cultural exchange program in the US, and I’m really excited to meet people, learn new skills, and share experiences along the way.

I grew up in a farming family in the countryside. As a child, I sometimes felt insecure because many of my classmates were from the city and had all the conveniences that I didn’t. But as I’ve grown older, I’ve realized that my childhood was full of treasures — running through the fields, breathing fresh air, watching the stars and the moon at night, and being close to nature. Now I see those experiences as a real gift that shaped who I am.

Since my parents were always busy, I often took care of my younger relatives and played with them. In a way, that gave me babysitting experience and also taught me about responsibility — doing things with care and heart.

I’d say I’m an easygoing and curious person — sometimes outgoing, sometimes quiet — but always ready to laugh. I love connecting with people, learning from different cultures, and enjoying the little things in life. I also love animals and deeply respect all kinds of life. I believe every living being has its own value and place in this world.

Sports keep me happy and active: I play badminton, swim, go to the gym, and recently I’ve fallen in love with climbing. Growing up, I also helped out with vegetables and farm animals (pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, and fish), so I feel comfortable with simple gardening and farm work.

For me, traveling is not just about seeing new places but about opening my mind, finding balance, and appreciating the beauty of everyday life. I have too many questions about the society and world. While constantly exploring the world, I am also constantly exploring my own inner world. I’m really looking forward to learning, helping, and sharing good moments with hosts and fellow travelers.

My background is in E-commerce, and I have some computer skills like using Office tools, basic Python, and simple web-scraping. I’m always open to learning more.

I have some hands-on experience in different areas. I grew up in the countryside, so I’m familiar with simple gardening and farm work, like planting vegetables and helping with animals. I also have housekeeping experience — I used to work part-time in an Airbnb, which helped me support my tuition and save for traveling.

Cooking is another passion of mine: I love exploring food, keeping its natural flavors, and sometimes experimenting with stronger tastes. For me, health and nutrition always come first in the kitchen.
