Descrição

We are a couple (age 26 & 27) from Glasgow, Scotland, travelling throughout Australia for 5 months, trying to see as much of this wonderful country as we possibly can.

I (Ruth) grew up on the Isle of Mull off the West Coast of Scotland with two gorgeous border collies called Maddie and Jess, a very fluffy cat called Hebe and some chickens. I moved to Glasgow to study Production Arts & Design at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and have been lucky enough to work as a Set & Costume Designer for Theatre and as an Art Department Assistant for Film & TV since graduating in 2019. As a result I love all things creative and in the realm of art/design/technology and one of the joys of travelling has been getting to learn about the vast history and culture of this country. I also love cooking, baking and food in general so love getting involved in the kitchen.

I (Harri) grew up in West Yorkshire in the north of England with my two beloved cats Ollie and Jess. I moved up into Scotland to train to be an actor, studying Acting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where I met Ruth in my third year. Since graduating, I've worked as an actor for stage, screen, and radio in plenty of productions, and I'm an associate artist with Leeds-based theatre company Wrongsemble who make theatre for families. I just finished my masters in Theatre and Performance Practices at the University of Glasgow before heading over to Australia, and I've been so inspired by Australia's extraordinary beauty and eon-long history. Outside of my career as an artist, I'm a passionate (and very capable!) cook, lover of animals, and keen hiker - my family and I have climbed all the Wainwright mountains in the Lake District in the UK!

Quais são suas habilidades?

Ruth
Cleaning - I've previously worked in hotels and grew up in a B&B so am very comfortable with cleaning and organising
Cooking - I'm a good cook and baker and love trying out new recipes, I am pescatarian so mostly cook vegetarian and seafood recipes, during the covid lockdown Harri and I even made an embarassing food Instagram page called @harriandrutharehungry if you'd like to see the kinds of things we were making
Design - As part of my film & TV work I do a lot of graphic design so am happy to help with any branding/graphics needs you may have (or just doing some funny Photoshop for a birthday card)
Technical Drawing - Bit niche but I use Vectorworks for 3D/2D modelling for set design so can help with basic construction drawings
Childcare - I have experience running workshops with kids of all ages and backgrounds both in theatre design and filmmaking so am happy to help out

Harri
Cooking - I'm a passionate cook, and I love all things food. I'm flexitarian, but don't buy meat to cook anymore, so like Ruth I mostly cook vegetarian and seafood recipes. Ruth and I have a food insta - @harriandrutharehungry - that we made during the pandemic where we showcased things we were making as we spent most of our time cooking!
Gardening - I love helping out in the garden, and I'm good at weeding, digging, planting/replanting, trimming, and assisting with small construction projects.
Writing/Proofreading - I'm a skilled writer, and spend much of my time as a theatre-maker writing, proofreading, or editing documents like scripts, press releases, marketing material, and technical information packs. I'm also very happy to assist in an administrative role.
Animal Care - I've grown up with and love animals dearly - I'm very experienced looking after cats and dogs and Ruth and I regularly petsit at home in the UK. I've also looked after guinea pigs, rabbits, and chickens.
Childcare - I've worked as a workshop and session leader in youth theatres across the UK, and have made several shows for young people with Wrongsemble, a Leeds-based family theatre company. I've got plenty of experience working with and looking after children and young adults - I also have a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) certificate for working with young people in Scotland.
