We are so glad that Yishan came to stay - she is such a joy to have around, always smiling, quick to help, interesting and fun to be with. She has made a big difference to our garden, lots of weeding, planting, chipping and general tidying up. We shared recipes and it was great to learn about Taiwanese food and culture. If you get the chance of hosting her don't hesitate to accept!

John and Evelyn are truly wonderful hosts. Despite my poor English, they always treated me with kindness and a warm smile. I was also lucky enough to meet their sons, who were just as kind and gentle. I stayed at their home for about ten days, and it was such a happy time. My tasks included weeding, cleaning fences, and painting. The work was simple, and they gave me the freedom to manage my time flexibly, which I really appreciated. Behind their house, there are three beautiful waterfalls. Their lovely dog Maggie (the sweetest dog I have ever met), their gentle cats, along with the sheep, ducks, and chickens—all together made the place feel so full of life and love. I came to New Zealand hoping to find some peace after years of personal struggles, and staying with them was the perfect first stop for my journey. John and Evelyn live humbly, yet they know exactly how to welcome others and share their lives with generosity. From them, I learned that sometimes one meaningful experience can enrich your life more than reading ten books. I am deeply grateful for all the kindness and hospitality they showed me. I truly wish them happiness in every part of their lives, and I hope that one day we will meet again under wonderful circumstances.

We had the pleasure of having Cinthia at our home for five weeks. She took very good care of our son and helped us with some household chores. She is independent, clean, and polite. She was always willing to help and accommodate our schedule, which we deeply appreciate. We hope to see you again!

I had a really good experience at the camp! I helped for two weeks in September during the build down of the whole camp which included a lot of cleaning and building down tents and wooden structures as well as helping out in the kitchen/doing dishes. All people involved were really nice and welcoming and I felt quickly integrated into the team of volunteers, who were all really lovely. Also the food was amazing and it's so nice not to have to think about cooking or groceries at all!

Dear happy people, Giulia & Enrico lived with my family in Sep29-Oct1, 2025 do join my family annual work, that is Ger home wooden flooring and add more felt layers for winter. Yes, they really love to discover and taste new food and we loved to share home made dairy foods with song appreciation.

Brina volunteered with us for 3 weeks this summer, and we couldn’t have asked for a better addition to our team! From day one, she showed exceptional dedication, reliability, and initiative. She quickly became a volunteer that made us feel totally at ease when she was on shift, always giving 100% to every task — whether working with guests, helping behind the bar, or keeping everything clean and beautifully organized. She was just perfect as a barista/bartender and all-around helper, with amazing creative skills that added more than one special touch to our space 🤩 Brina has a wonderful personality — super friendly, kind, and positive with everyone she meets. She works just as well independently as she does in a team, always seeing what needs to be done without needing direction. Our guests loved her, and so did our furry family — she was great with our two border collies and our cat! We’re truly grateful for all her hard work, energy, and warmth. Any host would be lucky to have Brina — we can’t recommend her highly enough and hope to welcome her back soon 💛

I had such a great experience at this workaway! I was here for 2 months across the busy summer period. The work was pretty chill most of the time with lots of nice interactions with the guests. Both the guests and other volunteers here were super friendly and open which made for a great vibe. As for the area, there are so many beautiful beaches and natural areas to explore. Having access to the kayaks and bicycles was amazing for making the most of your free time. The hostel itself is super nice and clean with great facilities. The only challenge is communication with Milto and Milto's parents due to a language barrier and Milto not living at the hostel. However this was minor and didn't affect my overall experience! Gina & Llouka add a real greek family vibe and I miss them alot! Many thanks for such a great Albanian summer experience, I'm very grateful for my time at the hostel 🌊

Would highly recommend this workaway to anyone who enjoys meeting new people while having plenty of free time to explore Istanbul on your own terms! We volunteered here for 2 weeks and it was the perfect fit for us. All our interactions with Mustafa, though short, showed how genuine and generous he is. He truly has a kind heart and is very communicative even though he has a very busy schedule. We loved staying in this apartment and especially quality time with Cersei 😽🫶 Everything about the apartment is comfortable and the wifi works perfectly. It's a 5 min walk from the subway station making it very convenient to go anywhere in Istanbul. Not to mention we had such a fun time at the meetup, everyone we met was very open to discussing a wide range of interesting topics. We really valued the time we spent here.

Marco was a bundle of energy with heaps of initiative We found him very pleasant and enjoyed our conversations with him. He is one of those workaways you wish could stay forever as we achieved so much while he was here. Marco stayed extra time and we were so glad he did. You won’t regret it if you are lucky enough to have him stay with you.

I had the chance to stay in Santorini from June to September, and this Workaway experience turned out to be unforgettable. From the very first day, Vasilis and his family made me feel truly welcome and comfortable. Their kindness and generosity created a warm atmosphere that made working here a real pleasure. My main tasks were to deliver and collect scooters, quads, and buggies from hotels, the airport, or directly from the agency, as well as to prepare the rental contracts with customers and make sure they felt confident driving the vehicles. Most of the work was done in the morning, which gave me plenty of free time in the afternoons to explore the island. I also had the chance to guide some tours in the south of the island, which allowed me to share useful tips with visitors while discovering even more about Santorini myself. As for the accommodation, I was very lucky to have a studio just a short walk from the agency. It gave me all the independence I needed, and I could even borrow a scooter from time to time, which made discovering Santorini even more enjoyable. Beyond the work itself, I really appreciated the small moments shared at the agency , from coffee breaks to our conversations, always full of good humor. Rita was a great Workawayer. She took an objective each day. Basically resetting the garden to status of years ago, ready for the spring growth. Very hard worker. Lots of knowledge of plants and our evening conversations on what would and wouldn't grow here and at home in Germany were illuminating. My sister-in law who has seen the garden since I first started here 50 years ago was tremendously impressed at the transformation. Thank you Rita. big hugs for you and your family.

I had the best time with Marta, Hugo and their family. Everyone was nice and easy to talk to, so I felt welcomed from the moment I joined them. I stayed with them for three weeks and during that time I experienced so many great things! The time I spend with Hugo was always fun, active and a bit chaotic, so it never got boring to play. He always came up with new ideas and always kept me busy. We went along super well and I laughed so much (he's a really funny kid). Marta and Hugo (the dad) were super easy to get along with always communicating well and making sure I was having a good stay. They always offered to drive me and with that and a pretty good bus connection close to the house, I was able to go to the beach and to Benicàssim a lot before Hugo came from school. The rest of the family was super nice to and it helped my Spanish a lot that they didn't speak English. With Marta's aunt I had nice walks and she drove me to Castellon a couple times. All of the people I met during my stay were super friendly and sweet and I never felt alone! I really recommend them if you just want to have a great time, lots of fun and meet really great people. I will miss them a lot, they truly are the best!! Thank you so much for everything💖

We were super lucky to have Kimmo with us for 3 weeks! We'd give him 10 stars out of 5. He has a league of his own, noone compares to Kimmo! :-D He is super hard working, very skilled and has a great personality and sense of humour. We are forever grateful for his help and company. If he ever wants to come to your place, consider yourself blessed. :-))

5 stars are not enough to describe what we experienced at the farm — it would take 7 or 8. Let’s start with Heidi, John, and their family: it took us less than 10 minutes to feel as if they were lifelong friends; kind, caring, respectful, and fun. We spent wonderful days in their company, all culminating with dinner together, which was always a moment of sharing and joy. We were deeply touched by what they told us when we left: 'you arrived as volunteers, you leave as friends.' That is exactly how we feel, and it perfectly captures the essence of the experience we were looking for. The work: John and Heidi gave us very clear instructions right from the start, and we were able to carry out our tasks to the best of our abilities. Both we parents and the kids had such a great time!!! The surroundings: we had the chance to visit K’Gari and go on a whale-watching tour, both experiences that we will remember for a long time. Thank you, Heidi, John, and your whole family, for the wonderful gift you gave us. The days we spent with you will remain etched in our memories for a very, very long time!

Thank you for the amazing experience. i had such a good time at the diving center and i am so gratefull i had the chance to meet each and every of you, started from Rabie. I really felt part of the great team at the diving center even though i had only a short stay. Here you really get to experience language exchange, team work and to learn new skills, they are very patient happy to share their knowledge. Generosity is at its home here, they are always giving the chance to go for the trips with them, to snorkel, dive and many more things they really help with. I cannot wait to be back and be part of the team again!

Hosting Anto has been a true gift for our family. From the very first day, she brought kindness, openness, and a warm spirit into our home. She connected with everyone ; sharing laughter, deep conversations, and moments we will always remember. With the kids, she was wonderful, patient, playful, and creative. Artemis and Elio both enjoyed spending time with her . With us adults, she was equally special — present, thoughtful, and easy to talk with. She adapted perfectly to our family rhythm, was respectful, and always brought a positive energy. Hosting her felt more like welcoming a dear friend than a volunteer. We are very grateful for her stay and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any Workaway host. Anto will always have a place in our hearts and our home.

I was there for 12 days, it was really rewarding to help all the dogs in working hours and play with the puppies at any free time. The tasks were pretty easy to understand and the routine was similar everyday. I was there mostly as the only volunteer, but they were always people and Ala or Lyndon helping. I really appreciate their dedication for the animals and the fact that there is 116 rescues. I recommend to anyone that is dog/cats lover, they gonna be so happy for any love and care!!

Sarah and Isaque came to us during a somewhat chaotic time but they fit in just fine :) The main tasks were day to day domestic duties, garden maintenance, breaking down pallets and making shelves for the garden shed.... and some serious soccer matches with all the local kids!. Isaque also took the scythe and cut the grass in our garden, he looked like he was having fun. A really sweet couple, respectful, tidy and friendly. They kept the place lovely and clean which was a big help during the that time. It was very interesting for us to meet people like Sara and Isaque and get an insight into their cultures and the work they are doing in the world. We wish you well on your journeys and a big thanks for all the help while you were with us. And thanks for the gift of percussive shakers that Isaque handmade (I can't remember the spelling!). Pawel plays these shakers a lot. We will pop a photo up on workaway profile!!

Jackie and Julie were amazing hosts!! This was my first workaways experience and it was honestly the best time. I enjoy being outdoors and I learned so many new skills from them. From composting to grey water systems there was never a boring day here. They are both so enthusiastic about the projects they are doing/working towards and it was really an inspiration to see. Especially seeing people who love and care for the environment and being able to use what our planet gives us to sustain ourselves. The world can be such a materialistic place, and here it was such a relief to leave all of that and use just what we need. Also learning to sustain yourself with food (you grow) and materials (you make) is so awesome!! The best part was the animals!! (as an animal lover :) ) They really have love for ALL of their animals. They both have so much knowledge on how to care for them and you will see how much love they have to give! I appreciate everything they have done for me and everything they have taught me! Tell spud hello! :)

It was a real pleasure hosting Luca and Christin for two weeks. They helped us landscape an area in the kitchen garden that are going to give us joy for years to come. They did it with great enthusiasms and professionalism. They are very friendly people that we loved having around. I loved talking nutrition with Christin, exchanging recipes and cooking together. We all have fond memories of playing The mind and Uno together every evening. They are thoughtful, hard working and fun people to be around and our time together flew by.
