Thank you so much Kate for your beautiful words they truly mean a lot to me and to everyone at the school. Having you with us for those three months was such a gift. The children still remember you with smiles and excitement, and the love, patience, and creativity you brought into the classroom made a lasting impact. We are so happy that your time here enriched your life, because you certainly enriched ours. Your openness to learn, your kindness with the kids, and the joy you brought to our community will never be forgotten. You will always have a family here in Arusha, and our doors will remain open for you whenever you decide to come back. We wish you the very best in everything you do, and we hope to see you again as our organization continues to grow.

Jess and Declan helped us with the gardening, made the beds, and cleaned the ditches. They were always friendly and happy to take on any task. Punctual and responsible. We recommend them to other hosts.

Given has been an extremely kind, welcoming, and patient host. I had the time of my life with him AND the rest of the school's staff and children in Arusha. The kids are immensely sweet and eager to learn, they win your heart the first day of school. I have been there three months and I wish I had stayed even longer. I cannot stress enough what a wonderful and inspiring person Given is, how much this experience enriched my life and how I grew as a person. Besides the school work, I spent the weekends visiting beautiful places like the waterfalls and the hot springs, going on a safari, and learning as much as I could from the local culture thanks to the many trips around Arusha. I would be incredibly happy to return one day and see how this amazing organization continues to grow and flourish. It was an honor to be part of it, even for a short time.

Yosuke-san and Yuka-san have been very generous with me, and my stay at their place has been marvelous. The work was varied: cutting grass, hunting wasps, woodworking, and more. Yosuke-san taught me a lot about beekeeping, and Yuka-san prepared delicious meals every day—in three weeks, I never had the same delicacy twice! Also, Sally-chan, their dog, was very friendly and well-trained. I spent three beautiful weeks there, and I hope to meet them again soon!

Although of retirement age, Sarah and John generously gave me the opportunity to volunteer on their incredible farm. It was both a wonderful experience and an education. Having participated in the wine harvest from the grape picking to the final crush and storage gave me a new appreciation for wine as well as a new found appreciation for the land that nourishes us after weeding, planting and retrieving figs and almonds (which were then prepared for drying and the almonds for cracking). John and Sarah have the routine for volunteers down to a T making the daily routine of work and breaks comfortable and rewarding. Medal of Honor goes to Sarah for her amazing cooking (what meals!) and they both share a Medal of Honor for their engagement with the volunteers with their lively conversations during meal times and after and their special attention on weekends which consisted of visits to the local towns and Sunday hikes. Sarah, John, thank you for having me!

Staying with Kyd was incredible! She loves and cares for her horses and mules so much, it's beautiful to see. I loved creating her new website, and communication was easy, tasks were clear. The surroundings are stunning, and getting to join the tours was wonderful. I had a great time and highly recommend staying at the ranch for a unique experience! Thank you Kyd, sending love to Lila, and to all the furry friends :)

Feedback for Cornnie Hi Cornnie, It was truly an honour to host you and get to know such a wonderful person. You were an incredibly thoughtful, kind, and reliable volunteer at , and we deeply appreciated the warmth and positivity you brought during your stay. Together with our team, you also conducted amazing lessons on animal-assisted therapy at a reputed college in Trivandrum, which was such a valuable and impactful contribution. I hope your time here gave you meaningful experiences, beautiful memories, and lasting friendships in Kerala. You became a part of our little family, and your presence made a real difference to all of us. We would be truly delighted to welcome you back again in April or anytime in the future. Wishing you a safe journey ahead. Take care, stay blessed, and know that you always have a home with us.

We had a really good time at the camping. Everything was fine and we enjoyed our stay a lot. Our main tasks were painting the cabins, cleaning the cabins and working at the reception. Since it was our very first WorkAway and our first job abroad, we learned a lot and gained really valuable experience. The place is very beautiful and the atmosphere was great. We also had the chance to spend time with her wonderful dogs – the huskies and the little Imash – and sometimes he even stayed with us overnight, which was really fun. Overall, it was a great experience and we are happy we had the chance to be part of it :)

“I stayed in Mamihara for 2 weeks with Rie-san and couldn’t be happier that this was my first experience in Japan and as a Workawayer. Rie-san is extremely kind, thoughtful, and hardworking. Despite her busy daily schedule, she was generous enough to include me in various activities, show me around the local area, and make me feel welcomed as if I were at home. This is the perfect place if you want to get away from your hectic life and immerse yourself in this beautifully relaxing side of Japan. I wish you and your family all the best, and I hope to meet you again for another pleasant conversation.” P.s. I apologise about the pumpkins, I trust it will be better next season 😅🙏

Since I spent in Steve’s tea shop just five days, I can’t really judge that much, but in my experience, Steve is really experienced, friendly, and talkative host who, if you talk straightforwardly, can solve any issues that can occur during your stay. He has put a lot of effort to his farm and tea shop that it is almost unbelievable he still keeps going in reaching his goals & working on this project. If you want to work manually (as I wanted), Steve is not afraid to let you help him. If you want to learn about the tea ceremony, you just found the best place in Chiayi to do it (you can even join his tea tour)! If you like to eat a lot of delicious food, Steve is a really good cook! If you want to practise your Chinese, Steve has a lot of friends (mostly people in his age) who’ll surely push you to practise your speaking and listening skills; all of them like to talk and tell stories. But if you don’t speak Chinese, no problem, Steve speaks very decent English. Therefore, if some of the things listed above meets your expectation from your Workaway experience, Steve’s place is definitely worth to visit! You’ll learn a lot, you’ll experience a lot, and you will meet a completely new point of view on life.

We hosted Natalia and Pati for about six weeks, and they were a great help during their stay. They supported us with painting the house and also worked at the reception. Both of them did a good job and showed professionalism in their approach to tasks. They were reliable, dedicated, and responsible, which made our experience very positive. We are happy to recommend them to future hosts.

We had Sara with us for about three months this summer season. She worked at the reception and had cleaning as a main task, always doing her job well. She is very social, fun, and brought a lot of positive energy to the team. One of her strengths was welcoming new coworkers in a very warm and friendly way, which helped create a great atmosphere here. We appreciated her presence and can recommend her to any future host.

What an adventure! I loved every moment of this workaway (apart from the mosquito's). Romi is a great host, his uncle works so hard on helping us with our stay. We were always so well fed with delicious food. The work is not pushed onto us and Romi is great at helping us to relax. We were engaged in cultural exchange in the village. Just be ready for a fun (slightly scary) motorbike ride to his land. I cannot begin to describe the beauty of Romi's land. Its the perfect place to relax and enjoy ourselves. Spent time in the river with his two dogs. Romi took us on a 3day jungle trek (€165 Euro per person) and this was amazing. Great guides, great food and very caring for our comfort. I would love to come back in the future and see how the bungalows and restaurant have progressed.

this project has an incredible ethos, and attracts the right kind of people. i learned so much even from just being there about genuine generosity, and how to combat a scarcity mindset in the everyday. beautiful stay - couldn’t recommend it enough!

my experience with Anna & Elise was lovely! i was really in need of some downtime when i arrived, and their beautiful garden & surrounding woods were perfect for that. overall the stay was a great mix of communal meals, self-paced work (mainly painting!) and learning more about each other and the area :-) a massive good luck with the future of your project!

We had the pleasure of hosting Adela and Ghi this summer. They are both 18 years old, very respectful, humble, and a real joy to have around. They helped with cleaning and at the reception, always with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. They carried out all tasks responsibly and efficiently, and quickly adapted to our routine. We truly appreciated their kindness and teamwork, and we can highly recommend them to any future host.

I've had a really enjoyable time here, I spent just over a month staying. The hours of work were very reasonable with enough breaks and days off to spend exploring the local area. Paco was very generous with his time teaching climbing, taking us on excursions to the fantastic surrounding landscape and in my case also teaching some Spanish. I spent my free time cycling, hiking and running with through the mountains trying to find good circular routes between peaks. I really recommend following the ridge up from the antena all the way to Pico Caldueiru on a clear day, the views are great in all directions, and to also climb Pico Caldoveiro, the mountain that overhangs Villabre to the east as you can see the whole valley. Wikiloc with the IGN data is the best resource for maps but don't trust that all the paths still exist! Paco has had over 200 volunteers over the last 15 years, and we had visits from past volunteers and friends to go climbing which was great. Villabre is isolated, especially if you don't have a car. It is a ~35 minute drive to Grado which is the nearest town and place with a bus stop to get an Alsa. But I just found it meant I was able to properly explore the local area in more detail. If you are a keen climber then a lot of the best routes require a short drive south into Tervega.

7 weeks on Bowen are over now (way too fast!!) and I can’t say how thankful I am. From the very beginning I was really welcomed as part of the family- no matter the activity, I was allowed to take part: from movie nights to wild camping or even watching a musical..(there were really soo many great moments I can’t tell them all here, but won’t forget!!). This made me really feel home from the very beginning. “Work” was mostly about taking care of Emilia, who is such a wonderful 5 year old girl I’m really, really gonna miss. She is kind, brave, independent, clever, curious and well mannered. In the beginning, when I was still a stranger to her, she had some “moody moods”, but you could always get her out of this with a good idea of something fun to do:) After 3 weeks we bonded so strongly, there was not one single “moody mood” anymore and we had so much fun together…. Swimming in the ocean, playing, baking and lots of singing, dancing and joking…:)!!! Moreover I took the two lovely dogs for walks, but more because the island is a green paradise, you have to spend your time outside!! No matter what the task was, it was easy and there was lots of free time. Bowen is such a beautiful island, especially if you want to have a break from your city life (& reconnect with the nature:)) The ferry only takes 20min to Vancouver, in case you miss the big city life sometimes:) Especially because Ana works in the city some days and was always willing to take me with her, I could really get to know Vancouver. (Carpool karaoke included!<3) On my weekends I was off and had the possibility to travel to Victoria and Whistler. I also really appreciate that they always offered me a plant-based alternative, even though if I was the only vegetarian! Accommodation was more comfortable than at my shared- flat at home, as I had an own room and bathroom😍 Even if we lived on one side of the island where you need to have a car, they were always so generous to lent me a car or gave me rides to the ferry..! We all shared a sense of humor and laughed soo much, which is outstanding, as my English level was still limited (especially after 8pm😅). I hadn’t thought too much about what to expect, because expectation can always get broken so easily, but maybe if I would have dreamt of a “perfect Workaway experience”, then the dream would have been like that. Ana, Jesse, Emilia, Flo& Camilla: I’ll forever be thankful for giving me a third home on the other side of the world and for everything you taught me!! I really hope to see you again very soon!!!<3

I had a truly wonderful time with Hélène and Boris ! The place is breathtaking and the house is both spacious and comfortable. The tasks were perfectly balanced : a mix of physical work, moments of reflection, and plenty of time to take care of myself. I got to spend quality time with Hélène and Boris and, after a few days on my own, with another volunteer. We had a great time working, cooking, eating, and sharing together. It felt so good to be outdoors, enjoying the warm autumn light and doing satisfying tasks. During our free time, we explored the beautiful surroundings, and Hélène and Boris kindly took us on activities and shared their knowledge with great generosity. In one word : it was amazing !
