My name is Sara, and I’m a writer from New York City. I currently work as a journalist, but my true passions are poetry, fiction, and spending time in nature. I grew up in Brooklyn, but I’ve lived for the past three years on the beautiful coast of Bahia in northeastern Brazil, where I met my partner, Isaque. We love spending time on the beach, in the tropical forests, or tending to the fruit trees on our small plot of land.

I studied American studies and creative writing in college, and since then, I’ve worked as a freelance journalist, English teacher, fact-checker, restaurant server, bartender, and massage therapist. In addition to poetry, I love playing soccer and learning about medicinal herbs, and I published my first children’s book in 2021.

Even though I grew up in a city, I’ve always loved farms, animals, and growing my own food. My parents have an extensive garden, and I’ve helped friends over the years raise chickens, plant beans, corn, and tomatoes, and tend to herb gardens. I love kids and have lots of experience babysitting!

Quais são suas habilidades?

Sarah is a writer and an English teacher with a Bachelor's degree in American Studies and Creative Writing. She is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. She is a hard-worker and has experience planting beans, cassava, and tomatoes, and tending to herb gardens. She loves kids and has extensive experience babysitting and teaching middle and high-schoolers.

Isaque is a physical education teacher in primary schools, who is currently finishing his Master's degree in physical education. Isaque is an experienced practitioner of capoeira, the Brazilian martial art, and he is an accomplished musician. He has been teaching kids for over six years and loves to babysit and have fun. He can give lessons and workshops on soccer, volleyball, basketball, capoeira, drumming, and the tambourine. Isaque also has agricultural experience and has worked on farms and tending gardens in his native Brazil. He was raised by his grandmother, who was a midwife, and he has extensive knowledge of traditional herbal remedies.

Even though Sarah grew up in New York City, much of her family comes from Ireland. She would love to learn more about her ancestry and the land that her family comes from. She took many years of Irish dance classes as a child, and, recently, she started studying the Irish language as well.

Sarah and Isaque love Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings! Sarah is a big reader and both like to play board games, tell stories, and go hiking and swimming.
