Nous avons passé six ans avec ma fille chez la charmante Myrtille et sa famille. Dès le début, nous nous sommes senties très à l'aise. Myrtille est très sympathique et ouverte. Les deux garçons se sont tout de suite bien entendus avec ma fille, et malgré la barrière de la langue, ils ont joué ensemble merveilleusement bien ! Ils nous manquent déjà tous ! La maison, le jardin et notre appartement étaient magnifiques – on ne pouvait pas rêver mieux ! Nous avons également fait plusieurs activités ensemble et partagé de délicieux repas. Dans l'ensemble, nous avons passé un moment formidable ! Un grand merci ! **** We spent six years with my daughter at the lovely Myrtille's place and her family. From the very beginning, we felt very comfortable. Myrtille is very friendly and open. The two boys immediately got along with my daughter, and despite the language barrier, they played together beautifully! We already miss everyone! The house, the garden, and our apartment were beautiful—you couldn't ask for better! We also did a lot of things together and always had delicious meals. Overall, we had a wonderful time! Thank you so much!

Where to start...Bruna just left us 2 days ago, after staying with us for almost 3 months. She was supposed to stay for 5 weeks. I think that says it all :-) . Bruna is just a loving and caring young woman. She is extremely mature for her age. Very reliable and has a very good feeling for children. The day she arrived, she immediately put an effort to bond with Yuna. Yuna and her had a very good connection. I always felt perfectly confident leaving her with Yuna alone. They went to play outside or she stayed home with her. She is very polite and flexible. It was such an enrichment for us, having her here for this time and we'll miss her a lot. She understands fast what you tell her and she puts lots of effort to fulfill her tasks. Whoever gets the possibility to host her is lucky. You won't regret it :-). We wish her to collect many more nice experiences as she totally deserves it.

I spent three weeks at the foundation and I got to learn a lot while I was there. The foundation is involved in many different types of projects which allows for one to never feel too bored with any one task. In one day I was helping with acting lessons, tending to a garden, and deconstructing materials for recycling. This type of variety is common. Everyone at the foundation is very welcoming and warm-hearted as well. I ate my weight in asado several times over during the course of my stay. All sorts of different volunteers come through, so it is easy to make friends for exploring the surrounding area too. The work being done at the foundation is truly uplifting to the community. If you want experience in ingenuity, resilience, and community organization, I would definitely recommend this volunteer experience.

Shuntaro was a very valuable member of our Workaway team during the five weeks he was with us on our orchard. He was quite happy to climb ladders and trees to achieve the results we were looking for, getting rid of dead wood and creepers from the many places they were growing. He also was adept at lawnmowing, leaf raking and water blasting! He is always polite and got on well with other Workawayers we had at the same time as him. His English is improving and we helped him with that by playing Bananagram which he enjoyed. We had discussions about many topics, and discovered he has a pretty good knowledge of lots of subjects. I told him that if he comes back this way again during his travels, that he’d be more than welcome to stay with us again. He is a perfect example of why Workawaying works! He did everything we asked him to do, and he never complained!

It was our first experience as hosts, and it couldn’t have gone better. Evelin was very respectful and considerate towards our home and our family. She worked willingly and shared moments of conviviality with us. Very polite, she left the room in perfect condition. It was a pleasure having her with us. I wish her many more wonderful experiences as a worker.

Kerstin is very experienced secondary school teacher who volunteered with us for nearly 2 months with such commitment and enthusiasm. She got involved in every aspect of not just the school but the whole campus during her entire stay with us. She taught not just English lessons but also French and German works in year 3-9, group work, one to one teaching, reading, writing, listening skill, English grammar, new songs and class dances. She got the children involved in regional and cultural studies, frequently taking students to the gym and library, helping with English communication in the evening. Kerstin really enjoyed being totally immersed in the Campus activities by attending prayers in the Mandir, visiting the home of the elders, chatting and sitting on the swing with them, connecting through stories. Eating and bonding with the hostel boys, playing board games, giving visitors a tour of the Mandir and hostel. She has been thoroughly involved in all the activities on the campus, including celebrations at the temple (and getting blessings), the kite festival, Indian Re public Day, a mass wedding, a cow ceremony, the inauguration of the new sport fields, a new hostel floor, future accommodations for girls and women with special needs, and the distribution of prosthetic limbs, sewing machines and tricycles Gave a speech on Indian Republic Day (about the global significance of Re public Day, the responsibilities as global citizens, fostering education for all, building bridges across cultures, protecting the planet together, a shared hope for the future, the importance of spirituality at this place, joining the Hospital at Your Door team a few times, making trips to villages nearby (and Anand, Khambhat, Tarapur) and connecting with the people, walking by the canal, visiting bird sanctuaries, wetlands. Taking photos of the beautiful nature and wildlife in the campus. Kerstin has very generously donated sports equipment for the students which the school has very much appreciated. She also made a farewell video for the Campus. The children and all the staff will miss her immensely and we hope that she will visit us again in the future with her family. Our door is always open for her.

** I recommend this experience to every single one who's seeking a workaway in Colombia ! ** My first experience with workaway was messaging Joep and Julia to ask if they were open for hosting a young french guy for a month.... 12 hours later I knew were I was going to spend my month of march ! Super quick to respond, super nice and helpfull by messages before I was even at the workaway, answering questions. And when I arrived there, I found two super inspiring persons. Very keen on sharing their knowledge with the volonteers, super welcoming, and with two great dogs ! Thank you so much to Joep and Julia for making all these breakfast becominf moment of sharing, caring about other and learning new things about new people ! About the work, since it is my first workaway experience, I thought it was normal to have a person this caring about us, volunteers, sharing the knowledge, helping us understand the work we do. By talking to others workawayers, I realised how lucky I was to have Joep and Julia that involved with the volonteers. We did numerous works, dry stone walling, chop n dropping, doing some cement and others little work. It was quite interesting learning about all this different stuff. And it was very nice, since I stayed for a month, to not do the same thing all day, every day. Anyway, THANK YOU SO MUCH JOEP AND JULIA

This was my first time volunteering, and it has been truly beautiful and enriching Negar and Gwendal are incredibly inspiring people and wonderful hosts. They made sure we were comfortable at every moment, taking care of every detail. You can truly feel how much they love and care for this place — it’s a real sanctuary. They live a dream-like lifestyle in paradise, growing a permaculture garden and sharing their healing knowledge. Negar had a herbal remedy for everything, which she shared with us with such loving energy The tasks were aligned with our skills, but there was also openness and flexibility for us to choose what felt right in the moment — a great way to align the work and honoring the present moment. I worked on the computer and also had so much fun gardening with another volunteer, who became a good friend! I also had plenty of free time to explore and spend on my own, which I really appreciated, as I value both shared moments and personal time. If you’re a nature lover, this is the perfect place. There are stunning hiking trails around, where you’ll feel completely immersed in the jungle. We visited a hidden natural pool that was so intimate and magical aaand we spotted so much amazing wildlife! The building is a perfect balance between comfort and immersion in nature and the design is simply delightful. There's a spacious, fully equipped open-air kitchen for preparing meals For me, traveling is also a spiritual journey — one thing isn’t separate from the other. I feel deeply grateful for such an abundant, peaceful, and nourishing experience. A part of my heart will always stay there. Sarah was an absolute joy to have around. She is an excellent workaway guest. She was extremely helpful in every way and did a brilliant job of taking care of the place, the animals and our home. She was also really great company and lovely to talk with. Thank you, Sarah, for all your help and your company. Sorry this is late Sarah!

Lara has already been with us twice and supported us in many ways in our everyday family life. She was particularly involved in playing with the children. Our children clearly had a lot of fun with Lara, which they often expressed with hearty laughter. They communicated easily in German and English. Lara is very creative and proactive when playing with the kids, as well as responsible. It is particularly memorable that our children connected with her from the minute she arrived. Lara was also with us at events and activities with our extended families and was very well liked by everyone, kids as well as adults. We would be very happy to have Lara with us again at any time. Thank you very much for everything and we really hope you do come back again!

Louisa and Stuart are very open-minded and wonderful hosts. They welcomed me into their family, and after a short time it felt like home. I learned a lot about gardening, but also catering, as I was helping Louisa at a dinner party. The food was amazing, and I already miss the dogs. It was a great experience, especially as my first Workaway. Thanks a lot for having me!

Ronja and Lena stayed with us and worked very hard during their stay. They were punctual, respectful of our indigenous community and attentive to all of our animals. We would welcome them again and highly recommend them for Workaway projects.

It was a real pleasure to have Alex in our household. He's thoughtful, interested about everything we did and think, great with kids and very helpful. Thank you for throwing yourself straight into our chaos and adapting so easily. We've all felt very comfortable around you. We hope to see you again!

This was my very first Workaway, and as total novice to gardening I was a little nervous. Karla was a fantastic guide, teaching me so much about plant care and growing food. She encouraged lots of exploration, telling us about interesting events in the area and inviting us to connect with her community. Her land is even more beautiful than the photos show! Karla is a kind and intelligent person with deep experience in organic farming. She is very experienced at hosting and is a clear and compassionate communicator. She is very accommodating and made sure that our needs were always met. I would recommend this Workaway in a heartbeat, and I am very excited to visit the farm again as a friend in the future!

Tuvimos la suerte de recibir a Ana y Eulalia como voluntarias en nuestra finca, y su paso por aquí fue verdaderamente valioso. Colaboraron con entusiasmo y responsabilidad en tareas de jardinería, construcción y pintura, siempre con iniciativa y una excelente actitud. Aportaron un ambiente muy positivo, alegre y respetuoso. Su energía y buena disposición hicieron que la convivencia fuera muy agradable para nosotros. Tia and Eyal sont deux personnes très intéressantes avec qui on apprend énormément. Caramelle Louvabelle et Magic sont adorables et c'est un vrai plaisir de passer du temps avec eux. J'ai adoré mes deux semaines ici, la région est très belle. Si vous souhaitez profiter de la région tout en vivant des moments d'échanges passionnants entourés d’animaux qui ne demandent qu'à être câliné je vous recommande cet hôte !

I’ll never forget my time on Sarah’s casitas, it was an incredible experience. Sarah started as a teacher but soon became a friend. The work was rewarding, the food was sensational, and the natural beauty is awe inspiring. I also made great friends with the fellow workawayers staying. The accommodation is very nice and has everything you would need, and Sarah made us all feel really comfortable. I did a variety of tasks from building fences and stairs to making an acequia. Sarah will use you to your strengths so there is something for everyone to contribute. I highly recommend people come by and contribute something that will stand forever. See you again soon.

Arsène is a very respectful, educated and gentle young guy, he helps me a lot in the garden planting trees and doing some woodwork in the house. He likes a lot animals and took care of my cats, chicken and ducks. He's a trustworthy young man, and I let him stay in the house while I was away. I hope he meets wonderful people on his journey to Spain, his new destination. 100% recommended.

Niamh and Joe were a great addition to our family. They were organized, self-starting and great workers. Niamh is a whizz at cleaning and Joe a thoughtful strong helper. They are not afraid to tackle whatever comes their way. We hope to see them again in November.
