House sitting available 24 July to 06 August approximately.
Hello hello,
I am Jethro and together with my doggies, Basil and Lua, we live in a beautiful old stone building in the town of Gort. It is on the edge of the Burren, and so has this fantastic area close by in which to explore, as well as the wild atlantic way coast. There are also relatively good public transport connections in most directions, eg. to Galway, Limerick and Dublin. I run a stone carving/sculpting business from the property and am very passionate about my work.
So I am 47 years old, sometimes seem like 18 and other times like 81. I have two Jack Russell dog's who enjoy regular, extensive walks/hiking, which keeps me happy too...though my back has not been great recently so have had to slow down on this a bit. I absolutely love the outdoors and am active in many things in this regard, such as fishing, swimming, cycling, kayaking and hiking. I have hosted quite a bit on other sites..couch surfing..and grew up with wwoofing.
I very much enjoy listening to music of all shades..good conversation is a joy. I read a lot.
Possibly looking for housesitters for the last week in July, first week in August.

I take great pleasure in showing people around the stunningly beautiful area in which I live. I love to hike. Water based adventures such as snorkeling and canoeing may be an option..mostly on rivers, truly wild places still. Camping may be an option, weather dependent. I am interested in most things, reading, the natural world, history, archaeology, politics, philosophy, good conversation, some beers, music.
If you are into meditating that would be cool.

Just some general upkeep around the place. A mixture of things depending on the season and the weather. Helping me in the garden, a small kitchen garden that I am trying to get more personally involved in and knowledgeable about..improving the soil, weeding, sowing and planting, learning together. There are diy jobs around the house as I am slowly fixing it up myself, this could be helping me to restore the old windows, with some sanding, filling, painting, any knowledge exchange welcome, whether it be from me to you or vice versa. Sometimes there are some things to do in and around the house. The house and living space can always benefit from some deep cleaning. The hours are five hours a day, five days a week with weekends off...but nothing too rigid. I like to keep it casual.Start and finish times are flexible.

Acomodação
I currently have a separated one bed roomed apartment on the ground floor which is the main workaway accommodation and is completely self sufficient. There is also a spare bedroom in the main house which can be available if necessary but only for very short stays. Bedding is also provided. I generally only accept bookings for a maximum of two week's, though this can potentially be extended by mutual agreement. I mostly agree to host approximately 6 weeks or less before the start date, preferring more spontaneous requests a week or two before the start date.

The surrounding region is incredibly beautiful, between the Burren area itself and the wild atlantic way coast. There are many things to do with your time off and Gort is a fantastic location for adventuring in the West of Ireland. I am very happy to point you in the right direction or help in any way I will definitely be showing you around when time away from work allows. I will definitely take you hiking. I can also provide the use of bicycles. Also if you are interested, I may take the time to show you a little bit about stone carving and teach you how to do something.
The main kitchen is where you would eat and we share meals for the most part. I enjoy cooking and also being cooked for. Food is a joy. I am generally eating a healthy food diet. Simple ingredients, well prepared and cooked. More wholefoods, less sugar, dairy, fat and meat. Hosting somebody who has an interest in food would be great. I am happy to eat vegetarian and can accommodate vegan. I intend developing a more comprehensive food garden this coming year. The apartment also has its own kitchen which can be used, though quite small.
