We were very grateful to be welcomed by Marina for a short-term stay. From the beginning, it was a meaningful cultural exchange — she is an open-minded and culturally rich person who made us feel comfortable and appreciated. The apartment we stayed in was perfect for our needs, with everything we needed to cook our own meals and feel at home. The surrounding area is beautiful, ideal for exploring nature, yet still close to everyday amenities. Our work mainly involved cleaning and bike repairs and gardening, and Marina made great use of our skills in a thoughtful and flexible way. We really appreciated having the freedom to structure our time as we wished. Overall, we highly recommend Marina to anyone looking for an open, genuine, and enriching exchange experience. Thank you again for hosting us! and we can't wait to come back again.

Marco is FANTASTIC! We were so glad that he extended his stay with us to 4 weeks - and we miss his happy, enthusiastic, fun-loving personality....and his cooking! He threw himself into everything we do here, wanting to learn and contribute as much as possible - trapping and monitoring predators, weeding everything from gorse and broom and spur valerian (on steep limestone cliffs) to lettuces in the vegetable garden and native tree seedlings under our oak tree, picking peas, planting tomatoes and potatoes, cleaning out the henhouse, picking up sticks from paddocks, pulling out fenceposts with the tractor and killing wilding pines. He immediately got the hang of reversing the trailer and setting up the fire pump and hoses ahead of a forecast windstorm. Marco is a great cook and super-fast whizzed up fantastic pasta dishes and tiramisu to bring a taste of Italy! He worked as hard as we do - far more hours than we expected - and he was a wonderful support to me personally when Richard was away and I was nervous about strong winds and the risk of fire - simply by being a calm companion and helping me prepare the fire trailer. He is very observant of his surroundings - birds, flora, even flat tyres! Marco joined in with everything in our local community - having a quick morning dip in the (freezing) sea, fishing on Napenape beach, coffee and cake and dinners with friends, pizza nights with the neighbours, and charmed everyone with his smile and ready laugh. I can highly recommend Marco to any other host!

I recently stayed here for 7 weeks, and really did love it. The main task I was given was removing weeds, along with some other light garden maintenance tasks, which were very reasonable and left plenty of time for relaxation. Other tasks included watering, feeding the sheep and ducks, and building a container for plastic bottles to be recycled. The owner, Nok, lives abroad with a busy lifestyle but was very clear, helpful, kind and communicative and made sure it was a fair exchange for both sides. Her mother (Mae Tui) lives nearby and was so kind and helpful too, making sure I had everything I needed and also being a fun host despite being busy with lots of her own tasks. She introduced me to the warm and friendly neighbours, especially the local shopkeeper Aunty Kuan who helped me and the other guests with things like taking us to buy supplies, visit local temples, and also hosted many enjoyable evenings with some of their other friends & neighbours, with all sorts of delicious local dishes being shared. That part of my experience really was so nice and a huge part of the reason I loved staying at this place so much and feel very grateful for the warm hospitality and kindness :) The property itself is beautiful and so full of different trees, flowers and other plants, with all sorts of different birds and butterflies flying around. It was really nice to be surrounded by those sights & sounds of nature. The house I stayed in was simple but nice, clean and dry with a fan provided and a nice balcony too. The bathroom is outside in another small building. There is a kitchen area with fridge, freezer, induction cooker & pots and pans, everything I needed to cook my own meals. It's great for anyone who is looking for a simple, quiet, rural place to stay. Overall I really appreciated the vision Nok has for the project, and the work she has put in to building it. Staying here really gave me a chance to experience a bit of what I was looking for, which was some time living a slower life connected to nature, in a place where practical help and non-financial contributions take precedence over transactional payments. I really would love to come back and contribute more to helping the place grow. Thank you! P.S. I appreciated the canine company too. The brown one, Namtarn, loves belly rubs!

Staying at the Hotel was a wonderful experience. He truly goes the extra mile for his guests and volunteers, always trying to help in any possible way — whether it’s by giving great travel advice or helping you arrange transportation. He’s a genuinely caring, good-hearted person who enjoys life and, if he’s available, he’s up for exploring the area together. 🌞 The work at the hotel mainly involved morning cleaning, but it was never too much. I’d highly recommend staying there — it’s an especially great place to start your trip through Jordan, as they can give you the best advice for planning your route. I didn’t get to meet Mohammed in person since he was in Italy during my stay, but from our messages, he seemed like a caring and outgoing person too, enthusiastic about cultural and language exchange. ✨

We worked together with Alicia on the project for about 2 months, and it was great that Alicia knew a little Hindi which made her interaction with the kids very meaningful and effective. Apart from this, Alicia also donated some materials to the centre and supported us in many ways. We had a wonderful experience working with you, and we hope to meet again at Christmas. Until then, wishing you all the very best.

We had a lovely stay with Irina! She was very warm, welcoming and easy to chat with. Irina communicated really well and was organised with projects for us to complete. She did some wonderful cooking and was conscientious around ensuring we were well fed and comfortable in her home. Thank you Irina for the great experience – we really enjoyed our shared meals and conversations together and would love to come do another workaway with you in the future!

I had a really lovely time staying with Sue and Jim in beautiful Coromandel town! They welcomed me warmly from the start and made me feel comfortable and at home right away. The work was enjoyable and well-balanced. I helped mostly with gardening and firewood, which I actually found quite fun and rewarding. There was always time for good talks and laughter, and I really appreciated being part of their everyday life. Lunch was fantastic! Some of my favorite memories are going sailing, catching my first fish, and even doing a bit of ballet with Sue. Those moments made my stay special and so memorable! Sue and Jim are kind, open-minded people who care about nature and about others. I learned a lot from them and left with a big smile and many good memories! Thank you both for everything! I really hope our paths cross again one day!:)

Talley is an amazing host! Her boundless conversational energy, deep connections to her town and her family, and her unstoppable desire to always be the best she can be is inspiring and just kind of a 24/7 rollercoaster. She's extremely respectful to your choices but also always eager to introduce you to and share her way of living - how much joy you get out of Talley depends entirely on how much joy you're willing to give back. Work is very varied, there's a thousand unfinished tasks that need to be done in very specific ways, so there's plenty to learn. Not just from Talley - when you stay with her family in Konigsau, they often are busy with physical house and garden work that they could absolutely use some help with. But what left the biggest impression on me is what we ended up doing for fun. Talley is like a teenage girl when at a party - dancing all night, inviting anyone to join, and making sure you and her both have a great time. We also ended up somehow at an art bar (ie, a bar frequented by artists) where an opportunity to model was offered, taken and very much enjoyed. Also if you're in Wiesbaden you should definitely definitely check out the spa, to which Talley will also introduce you. Talley does talk quite a lot and with a lot of energy, which can sometimes be a bit difficult to keep up with, but thankfully mostly everything she says is delivered with such passion and energy that you can't help but feel invited to engage. I 100% recommend Talley as a host. One of the best times I've had this year.

Norfa stayed with us for nearly three weeks and was an absolutely wonderful guest and a huge help. We highly recommend her to any host! Norfa is incredibly versatile, proactive, and always brought a positive energy to our home. She effortlessly contributed to several different areas: Culinary Skills: She delighted us by cooking delicious Malaysian dishes, which we thoroughly enjoyed and which added a special touch to our mealtimes. Physical Work: Norfa was not afraid of heavy-duty work in the garden and tackled demanding tasks with impressive diligence and strength. Herbal Production: She assisted greatly with the preparation process for Herbfarm, including harvesting, collecting, and processing herbs for our natural food supplements. Technical Assistance: A major bonus was her expertise in programming. She leveraged her IT skills to assist with the further development and optimization of our website, which was immensely helpful for our business. Norfa is extremely diligent and always ensured her tasks were completed to a high standard. She was also great company and very entertaining, making our time together a lot of fun. She is a reliable and highly recommended Workawayer. We would happily host Norfa again!

I had a great time here in Punta Hermosa with Carmen, her husband José, their 4 dogs and 2 cats. They are all very lovely, the animals as well as the humans ☺️ The work is very calm and is basically checking that the animals always have dry food and water, give them lunch once per day and keep the shared spaces clean. Besides this you are free to go whereever and do whatever you want as long as you come back in time to walk the dogs once per day in the afternoon. The dogs are already a little bit older so they are easy to handle but still want attention and are happy when you give them company while Carmen and José are not at home. The location is a little bit far from the city center but there is a bus that reaches the Mall del sur or Benavides in about one hour and from there you can continue with public transportation. It is perfect to get a break from the busy life in the city and calm down especially during off season because during the week the beaches were empty here in Punta Hermosa and I loved to walk along the costline and enjoy stunning views especially during sunset hours. It's also very safe so you don't have to worry to walk with your phone on the street for example. They offer a private room with shared bathroom and a lot of private space for you. You can also feel free to use the whole house and swim in the pool or watch football/soccer on the TV if your favourite team is playing (José is a big football fan too!). When Carmen is at home she cooks delicious peruvian meals or leaves something in the fridge so I never needed to stay hungry in her house! All together I had an amazing experience and I definitely recommend to anybody who likes animals to come here and get to know Carmen, José and their doggies Sofia, Bruno, Ariel and Erik! I will miss you all a lot! Thank you for everything! ☺️🐕🦮🐾

Woni stayed with me for approximately a month. During that time she was a very big help with harvesting the garden, cleaning and preparing it for winter. It was fun to see the smile on her face as she drove the tractor full of squash up to the house. Together we made a couple of housecoats and Woni had great ideas on matching fabrics thus creating the best effect for a beautiful finished product. She cooked some yummy Korean food and was always willing to help with cleanup after dinner. Woni embraced the Halloween spirt, decorating the yard, foyer, carving an huge pumpkin and dressing up as a witch to hand out treats to the local children. She was always keen to embrace new experience and try new things. Woni enjoyed doing a few hikes in the area, cycling around the community and going to the aquatic centre on Tuesdays. I appreciate that Woni is kind to people and to animals. My two kittens loved her and missed her when she left. Woni is a positive person and was a real pleasure to host. Thank you Woni for all your help and I wish you all the best in your travels.

This was my first Workaway experience, and I had such a wonderful time at this remote retreat center. Everything was very well organized. Markus, the coordinator, was excellent—he provided detailed information from the very beginning, including how to get to the center, how to handle the daily tasks, and where to explore during my free time. I loved the serene environment, with easy access to forests, lakes, and nature all around. I had the opportunity to experience meals from three different cooks, each preparing very different delicious vegetarian food that almost made me forget I am a non-vegetarian! I also appreciated meeting people from different backgrounds and perspectives. Everywhere I went, I encountered kind and friendly people who truly warmed my heart. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone considering a workaway experience.

We had a delightful time staying with Ollie for two weeks. He was super accommodating from start to finish. He let us arrive a day early to shelter from a storm. He was also keen to teach us ways of foraging and looking after the plant life on the land. Location was beautiful with amazing views and had a lovely room to ourselves. 11/10 stay overall and we would love to go back in the future if Ollie will have us! :) Best Workaway ever!

Patricia and John! I can't believe it took me this long to leave feedback. what a life changing experience you offered. The complex of Camp itself is a place of a million stories. Patricia and John are the holders and tellers of these stories, and it seems, at the dinner table in the darkness of the high dessert oasis, that they read the walls. The more one inquires, the more seems to come seeping out. Each story is worth a million minutes, for each story is story of true lived experience. The animals tell the story too! Every crisp spring morning feeding with fog shooting from each nostril, the 13 burros, the 11 mustangs, the zebra (Spot), the 9 dogs... they tell the story of life. Patricia is an encyclopedia in animal behavior and biology, while John is a novel of entrepreneurship and a role model of a "provider". I came to care for animals, and I myself felt so greatly cared for. Participating in the hoof care seminar over three days, inviting equestrian caretakers from around the country, receiving such love and affection from these large and historic creatures, the nightly hot meal shared around a story-teller's table. yes, if you would like to connect with life, animal, human, land, historic, present. this is the place for you.

Ivan, a tourism expert on the Silk Road, happily joined my family Ger home and my community life with cows and snow. We know, he will use his copper personal bowl in his meal time and in his traveling for better health and the best traditional solution. We made #MongoliaFriend short talk in Croatian language to share our experience for all.

Anna was great with communication both prior to arrival and once here. Her English is better than she thinks. Occaisionally we missunderstood a word beginning with "r". Anna always understood the tasks and completed them really well. She came up with great ideas that I had not thought of, like, tieing rubber bands around grasses so we could weed more easily between them. She is really fit and worked hard for over 4 hours then went for 3-4 hour walks in the area. I enjoyed Anna's company and open discussion. She was also helpful in the house and tidied up well before leaving. We completed more than I thought we would get through in the week. So, Anna, thank you again.

Our summer in Shkoder was really lovely ❤️ it’s such a charming little town so close to the lake and mountain. Life at the hostel is calm, most of the travelers who come here are easygoing and sociable, which creates a very friendly and connected atmosphere. Thanks to Irene and Mikel, we had delicious dinners and great recommendations. The work itself is simple and nice when shared with the other volunteers. We’d just like to mention, so it doesn’t come as a surprise, that the hours were a bit longer than described on the profile, at least during our stay. Still, we wouldn’t hesitate to come back, we had a really good time and the region has so much to offer!
