Rosie was a delight to host, she stayed with me for a couple of weeks. I can't praise her enough, I didn't want her to leave she was so good. I can highly recommend her, she does all the tasks asked in an efficient and friendly way, she got on well with all the other guests. Rosie has an enquiring mind and she's an amazing problem solver, to be honest I don't think I've had such an innovative helper. She's a great cook and thinks of clever ways to enhance a meal. If Rosie requests to stay with you say YES and I really hope she comes back, she's welcome anytime.

We were truly blessed to host Giada at our community project on Rusinga Island, Lake Victoria. From the very first day, she showed great discipline, dedication, and a beautiful spirit of service. Giada quickly adapted to our environment and became part of our team and family with such ease. She worked with enthusiasm, responsibility, and genuine love for the children, always patient, kind, and creative in her interactions. Her positive energy brought smiles to everyone around, and she built wonderful relationships with the locals, teachers, and fellow volunteers alike. Giada’s respect for our culture and her willingness to learn and contribute made her time here truly impactful. We deeply appreciate her commitment and the joy she shared with our community. She is missed dearly by Jane, Chris, the teachers, and all the kids who grew to love her so much. We highly recommend Giada to any future host. She is dependable, caring, and full of positive energy. We will always remember her with love and gratitude, and she will always have a family here on Rusinga Island. 💛

We had a really fun time hosting Laura and Nate. They fitted in right away, they’re really positive people who made the best of their stay during a patch of very bad weather. They managed to complete a lot of work in their short time here which I really appreciated - cleaning and organising the pantry, work in the gardens and dismantling an old broken piano. They even picked up groceries for me on their way here. Thanks so much guys, I hope your last few weeks in NZ are great!

It was such a pleasure to host Lisa, we enjoyed her easy company, super interesting conversations, and great humour. I was very excited to try out some new vegetarian recipes while she was here. Lisa really helped us a lot, some big decluttering and cleaning jobs were no problem for her, it was amazing to come home from work and see the progress. Thanks so much Lisa, we loved having you here!

I lived with Sydney, Chris and Greyson for five weeks and It was a wonderful first experience as Workawayer. they are caring, funny and always happy to show you all the things to see/do in the area. Greyson is so cute and smart. It's really a pleasure to play (and sing) with him. If you are looking for a quiet place, where you can explore the nature and meet a beautiful family, this is the place to be ! Thank you so much for this beautiful stay 🙏

Catherine is a wonderfully welcoming host who loves to entertain and share her life experiences. She goes out of her way to help others and offers the best way to discover the area outside of Montreal. The house is beautiful and inviting. We had a fantastic experience and highly recommend it.

Florine stayed with us in Manakau for two weeks. During that time she achieved so much for us helping us with a variety of jobs. Florine is a hard worker , making sure each of her jobs was completed and always to a high standard. Florine is a calm empathetic young women , kind and caring with a deep love for animals. Our meals shared together were a highlight and Florine cooked a traditional French dinner for us which was delicious. Very helpful in the kitchen and tidy. We give Florine 10/10 for being a most wonderful workaway.

Jenny was our guest for six weeks. First, we shared my room in our shared apartment, which worked out surprisingly well. She helped me with cleaning windows, fixing a window. She was a great help at my garden allotment, 5 km away from the shared apartment I live at in Wiesbaden. She collected many plums and did some hard work digging out partly deep roots from weeds around my fruit trees. The rest of her time, she spent at my parents' guest hous,e mainly helping to figure out how to use an old slide scanner again. She scanned almost 20 boxes with 40 trays of slides, my Dad made during the 70s and 80s, with many family memories. She is very experienced with computers and can assist and help in many ways. She is never tired of doing some research on finding solutions. I was proud that she managed to make herself many meals while I was gone, and was excited to try out many different types of healthy food she was not used to. Jenny´s English is excellent, and I could brush up on my English with her help. She was always friendly, patient, keen to solve problems, and make herself helpful. Thanks a bunch, dear Jenny, and see you again!

My first trip with workaway was my first trip out of the country on my own. Thomas' Rescue was an interesting first workaway trip. I learned pack mentality with the dogs and really worked on understanding around 100 dogs and their individual behavior. Don't be afraid to get dusty or dirty as the summer months are hot and dry. I was at the rescue for about 5 weeks and it took about a week to understand all of what was being asked. My experience was between June and July which was hotter than I expected since there weren't really any ways to escape the heat. I definitely recommend bringing a fan in the summer months. Our work started around 6 in the morning with feeding and watering each area while cleaning up waste. When Thomas would return in the mornings from his stray dog work, we would walk each dog around a mile to 1.5 miles (sometimes walking two different times with different dogs when the other volunteer was off). We would complete our cleaning work between 10 and noon depending on the water pressure (which sometimes would run out, affecting the whole site showers and all). I would complete different areas than the other volunteer as we were trained in separate areas. We had the middle of the day with no obligations but the 15 minute walk to the bus station and unpredictable buses made travel extremely tight and difficult. Many times I would have to get a taxi instead when traveling longer distances, which of course costs more than public transportation. The surrounding towns and cities were very interesting and I recommend seeing them. After our time off, we would walk the goats for 2+ hours at night often getting back to the house around 9:30 and then eating when the food was prepared out of the days heat. The dogs were beautiful souls that made sure I was never lonely. I will always think about my time with them. I want to thank my hosts for all they shared and their time. They truly love the animals and give it their all.

We spent nice few days con Bambi y Gouri. We also had the option of little work and paying a part, food is delicious and work very simple. Nice accomodation with shared bathroom and very enjoyable restplace in the restaurant to chill. Very quiet, ideally located at 5 min from Murillo Place and the center, 5 min to the cable car to visit the city during your free time. Thanks, Bambi for your kindness and thanks, Gouri for the delicious food.

Linda and her almost 17-year-old youngest daughter stayed with my parents and me for one full week. They arrived at the nearby airport, Hahn, from where they flew back to Ireland. Our surname is Irish, and my parents, I, and some of my younger siblings have been to Ireland several times. I felt honoured to be Linda´s host during her 2nd visit to Germany. Her first visit was when she was a few years older than her youngest daughter is now, whom she had with her on this special trip. Kara, the youngest of three sisters, is studying German and was keen to get to know Germany, just like her mother. Bolth was very helpful, polite, asked good questions, listened to many stories, and had many interesting and exciting stories to tell. They worked three full days, keeping themselves busy with gardening, sewing, and scrubbing/cutting up many quinces, pumpkins, and carrots, which was an enormous help. On their first day in Königsau, we explored the area together and we noticed many walnuts along the stream at the end of our walk I mentioned it would be a good job to collect them during their stay, and Linda was excited to collect them for my family right away. We all got excited and collected a big bag of walnuts, partly lying under the beautiful autumn leaves. Luckily, we could explore the big pottery store the first day, which only opens Saturdays and Sundays. After two full days of work, Linda and Cara explored an open-air museum about German life up to 800 years ago with 40 equipped historic buildings, which were taken apart from different small towns throughout the State of Rheinland-Pfalz and set together as a beautiful village. On a different day, they joined my father in Mainz and explored the museum that shows the first book printing machine Johannes Gutenberg invented, which made it possible to print the bible and other books. After looking at the huge cathedral, they headed to the neighbouring state capital, called Wiesbaden, where I have been living in a shared apartment I live at since almost ten years in a beautiful part of Wiesbaden. We had dinner here, and then my Dad picked him up after one of his last days at work at the youth center. Soon, my Dad will have more time to be the tour guide for our guests, or at least give many tips on what to see. I usually know how to get there with public transportation, but a phone with mobile data makes traveling very comfortable nowadays, which saves lots of time in planning. I am looking forward to meeting Linda and Cara again and hope more of their family members will follow their good example and plan on using Workaway.info soon to explore more of this and other beautiful areas on their own, or all together. It was a great experience for me and my family to host Linda and Cara at the end of our Workaway season 2025. Every guest is like a present!

Nos quedamos una semana con lucia y mario. Pasamos un buen rato trabajando en el jardin para sacar hierbas malas y recoltar flores y verduras. Fue un trabajo sencillo afuera en un lugar muy agradable. Disfutamos de las buenas comidas de Lucia con verduras organicas del jardin y compartimos bien durante las comidas con ellos. Trabajabamos 3 horas por la manana y algunas en la tarde desde las tres. Muchas gracias a ellos.

It has been my first Workaway experience, and I couldn't have better hosts and place to stay !! Karen, Tom and Hayden are lovely, kind, artists and helpful people. I enjoyed a lot in their beautiful Paradise helping with gardering, cooking, baking breads, learning vegan Tom's recipes, tidying and relaxing! Yummy meals has been our main goal every day🥰 My own space in Piano/Pianappleland 🎹🍍was big, beautiful and really comfortable! I felt there as a princess! They are really flexible with working hours and tasks and are really used of having workawayers at home. 100% recommended!! Thanks for everything Celia

Ian is on it! We appreciate all the support he gave our project. He communicates well, which is super important to us, and he is also a hard worker. He took on anything we asked him and went for it 100%. Ian is motivated, strong and able bodied. He is not afraid to ask questions, offer suggestions or new ways of looking at a problem. He is curious and super open minded. Also worth mentioning is his ability to be flexible ! We had some different projects and tasks pop in and out of priority throughout his stay and he was willing to jump in and be there to help. We are grateful for the good energy he brought. I stayed at Sandra and Julien's place a bit more than a week and it was just wonderful. Their property is a small piece of paradise, surrounded by beautiful bushes and a river in which you can swim (perfect after work !). They also welcomed my cousin and her boyfriend with their camper van so we could stay and help the three of us. They are both teachers, so you are on your own until beginning of afternoon to work and have lunch. Dinner is taken together and they are both really good cooks (even though Julien's meals are too spicy... ;P) ! The job is not too hard, we mainly had to weed the vegetables garden or remove the branches that Julien had cut. I also went every days on a walk with Marley the really cute and funny dog and rode Indy the horse for beautiful walks. Julien took me to the sailing club as well and I felt so lucky to have the chance to sail on the Pacific Ocean ! My time there was amazing and I was so sad to leave. Thank you Sandra and Julien for welcoming me, Charlotte and Hugo, for the laugh and good conversations. I will miss you for sure :) Greetings to Marley, Indy, Olive, Simon, Smeagol, Donna and Karen (especially from Charlotte ahahaha).

From property maintenance, feeding the piggies, cooking for everyone and help keeping the group vibe! Loved how you balanced so well between sharing moments, stories and laughs with everyone while keeping your own and others space! Your therapy skills are an added skill to any place, bringing out the best in everyone around you effortlessly. Thanks for making all the tasks seem so easy, it was a pleasure to see you waking up before others to get things done, and going late to be sure everything is ok, always very focused on the given tasks and looking for other ways to help more! Was very good to be able to count on you without second thoughts on many dirty hands tasks from painting, gardening, bathroom cleaning, feeding our animals, sometimes all together under the rain with itchy stupid bugs! Loved our amazing big talks, and hope you find everything you're looking for! Thank you for choosing to spend your time with us, we'll never forget and really hope you would come back sometime!
