Thank you so much, Julia and Sebastian. We feel incredibly lucky to have had you stay with us — you were truly dream Workawayers! Thank you for all your help in the garden, for organizing and caring for the house, for the delicious meals, for playing so lovingly with the kids, and for handling the unexpected beehive situation with such calm and resolve. We all miss you already. We hope the rest of your travels are wonderful, and that many more lucky families get to experience the warmth, kindness, and magic you both bring with you. Lots of love, from Ava, Emet, Yosl and Dana

I spent about a month at the house in LP and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Sully and Benjamin. Sully is a wonderful child, and I will miss her very much. She is so fun and an excellent helper in the kitchen! I always looked forward to cooking and baking with her. Ben is a kind and reasonable host; I never felt overworked or overwhelmed when I was looking after Sully. The area that the house is in is absolutely stunning and peaceful. I enjoyed going out on walks most days.

Recieving Bruno as volunteer has been one of my best experiences as a host. A large part of this opinion has to do with his interest in others- in their culture, personalities, life stories, and basic humanity. I greatly appreciate Bruno's vision for integrating himself with others in this fabric of life that we weave. Bruno was very helpful in the kitchen, and equally as helpful in the garden- to the detail. He was willing to weed, dig holes for posts, paint walls, wash all the dishes, and go out on local adventures. Bruno is an effective communicator, and has many ideas and wisdom to share. He is kind, calm, considerate, and overall, a gentle presence. May your vision and passion for others and for life carry you to much satisfaction and contentment. Thank you, Bruno.

We had the pleasure of spending four wonderful weeks with Shaun and Anna. We received a warm welcome and immediately felt very comfortable. We arrived on a Saturday and used the weekend to get to know each other a little better and were shown around the area on a great little hike. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. We shared a fully equipped flat with two other Workawayers, but had our own room. The working days were perfectly structured and very varied, which we really liked. From bricklaying to small woodwork jobs, weeding the beautiful vegetable garden and levelling the land, there was always something to do that left us feeling satisfied at the end of the day. At the weekends, we went on trips together (mainly beautiful hikes), during which Anna and Shaun happily showed us their favourite places in the beautiful surroundings of Asturias, which amazed us. During our meals together, we always had great conversations and laughed a lot. Shaun and Anna's warm, humorous and appreciative nature was what made us extend our planned two-week stay by another two weeks. Also Dibbi loved to become friends with their two really sweet cats. We would love to come back again one day. Many warm regards, Melli, Alex and Dibbi

Ciao-Yan (Alice) was a delightful person to spend some time helping us in the fall. She learned the required tasks quickly and efficiently. Her interactions with guests and fellow staff were positive, she went out of her way to be helpful. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

I stayed here for 6 weeks, and it was an absolutely incredible experience. I loved every moment of my time there. I learned so much about permaculture and gardening thanks to Dolly, Eugene, and Rushman they were patient, knowledgeable, and always willing to teach. They also made sure we had more than enough food to get through the week, and every Friday we would have an amazing braai, which quickly became one of my favorite traditions. Jess also made the whole experience unforgettable. She truly listened to everything we said, took it all in, and added so much heart to the place, it wouldn’t have been the same without her. The owner, Ashley, along with his dad “Uncle Eddie” and Heath, are genuinely some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Their hospitality and kindness made my stay feel like home. I truly hope to see everyone again. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable experience!

I stayed with Jim and Manijeh for about a month and it was great experience. Jim is really nice guy who taught me a lot about electricial stuff and was very helpful explaining me every bit of it. With Manijeh I had lot of great conversation about interesting topics and she makes great meals. The place is really nice, on top of the hill so it has beautiful view on mountains. I really enjoyed my time at this place. Great thing is you can borrow bike and go for a ride.

Telmah was organised in arranging her visit here and arrived on time ready to work. Although she readily stated that her 'farming' skills were limited she did everything she was asked to with enthusiasm and was a good help with my rather overgrown food forest. If she was uncertain of what she was doing, she would photograph the work so far and come and ask if it was ok, which I appreciated. It was great for me that she was happy to work independently. She always took good care of tools, cleaning them before putting them away. We had some great conversations, and it was heartening for me to see her appearing happier after a few days. She always washed the dishes after our evening meal together, adapting to a different method than the one she had used before, and which I explained was not good for the wastewater system here. I hope Telmah continues to gain confidence in her personal independence and finds what she is seeking. She is welcome back any time.

I had a great feeling about Jake and Luna when I invited them to join us for the late summer. I wasn't wrong!! From the moment they got in the car I knew I had met two amazing people who would add a new energy to our community. Luna has a very dry sharp sense of humour. Jake is a great chef and has an equally great but somewhat reserved sense of humour. Together they bring great energy and a calming influence. They were happy to take on any task and carry it out willingly with confidence and skill. I am pleased to say the arrived as volunteers and most definitely left as friends!! Friends for life I hope! If you get the opportunity to host them you would be crazy not to. Though I would prefer you didn't so i can have them back.

I have been at this place for 3 weeks in September and want to share my experiences. Accommodation and hygiene: As also stated in other reviews: You live at the mother’s home of this host and there is mold in your bedroom. There is no real bathroom (the typical #redacted# “toilet” and a bucket), and no toilet paper is provided. You don’t have your own key to the house or to your room. The room is always open with no option to lock your stuff. In the evening, over night, they lock the house, and I had the situation that I needed to go out in the morning, but couldn’t because I didn’t have access to the key and they didn’t answer when I called for them. (They open the door after they get up, after 9am approximately) The food is very, simple (plain spaghetti/only plain bread). This is a situation I can understand since sometimes the circumstances are different. Family experience: Even though the English was not the best, I had a good time with their cute little daughter and the family in general. Problems I want to warn for: They confirmed that my stuff in the room would be safe, but still in the end 50€ out of my wallet were missing... The host was very nice in the beginning and promised me to give it back to me and help me. But he always made up excuses to delay it another day, and still promised to give it to me “the next day”. In the end my money got stolen and I have never seen it again. Stuff can happen, but what was really not a nice experience is that this host makes promises he doesn’t keep and lies. About the school: The school was nice. I really enjoyed being with the staff and the kids were lovely. They also listened to my opinion and my wishes about what I would like to do in my time there. They even took me on a amazing school trip with them. So for the school I would really recommend it, but not to stay at this place at all. Maybe stay at a hostel or somewhere else and visit the sweet children and the school like this. Kind regards

I had a lovely time at Sam and Trina's farm! It was my first workaway and it was a great experience. From the moment I walked in I felt welcome and at home. At the farm we planted trees, raked leaves, helped with weeding and did some other things. Every day we had three amazing home cooked meals together with the family and the other workawayers. Besides this, Sam took us for a hike, we did mosaics with Trina and they also took us for some fun visits to places in the area. It was great and Sam, Trina and Alix are such lovely hosts! It was the best first workaway experience I could've hoped for and I'm definitely hoping to return!

I don't even know where to begin... I spent a month and a half with Yolanda and her wonderful family. It was my first time doing Workaway, and it couldn't have been better. They treated me like a member of the family. I laughed so much, learned so much, and they showed me so much of Spain. I definitely want to come back again, and I have absolutely nothing to complain about. It was amazing!

This was our first Workaway experience, and to be honest, we were a bit nervous before coming. But the moment we saw Andrea, all that hesitation disappeared. The welcome was so warm, natural and sincere… When we arrived to be with Bernd, Andrea, Tim and Sinem, we immediately felt that we had become part of a family. They truly gave us an amazing week. A family with pure hearts — always by our side, understanding, respectful, supportive, making us laugh and feel comfortable. We felt as if we had known them for years. It didn’t feel like Workaway at all; it felt like visiting close friends. We returned home, but our hearts are still there with them ❤️ My son Selim is still upset because he can’t collect the eggs anymore. We went there full of excitement, and when it was time to leave, all of us felt a deep sadness. Words are not enough to describe this wonderful family. We are so grateful that our paths crossed and that they became part of our lives. We truly loved them ❤️ Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything 🌸

I cannot say enough good things about Avery. He was up for any job and did it with enthusiasm. He worked efficiently and paid attention to detail. Avery helped us with garden clean up, planting tulips, removing popcorn ceiling and house cleaning. Avery has excellent English and was really easy to get along with. Avery stayed for about 6 weeks.

This was my first Workaway experience and it couldn't have been better. I was part of a group of five of us that came at the same time. The villa is a beautiful place, and Vilija was a great host, so generous with all of us, sharing her space, her car, her culture and her infectious laugh. She was very helpful in directing us to the various points of interest around the area in our time off, often providing transportation as well if she happened to be going in the same direction. Every day was different, and I had the opportunity to work on several different projects ranging from cleaning a refrigerator, refinishing a bed frame, various small painting projects, fixing a rug, helping with furniture assembly and much more. I really appreciated that Vilija is a very trusting person and gave us free reign to tackle our tasks according to how we thought they could best be accomplished. She was also very accommodating and approachable if we had questions about anything. Vilija also had a knack for assigning tasks according to the skill level and interest of each Workawayer. She invited our group up for some delicious Croatian meals and we made many fantastic memories together!!

Olivia What can I say one of the best work ways we have ever had!!! With Olivia you get it all- she is a genuinely lovely person, with a big heart, caring about everyone and an incredible work ethic to doing things correctly with emense efficiency, always making sure she understands the task fully and has everything she needs to complete it. Her leadership skills shines through. Her cooking skills are awesome and created some wonderful dishes for all of us. This seems to be where her heart is, looking after people through food, but at the same time having the ability to turn her hand to: glazing windows, filling & painting, chopping wood and excellent cleaning and took complete responsibility for making sure we never ran out of anything in the kitchen. Olivia you were such lovely company and thank you for making Leonardo feel special. The door is always open 🤗
