Description
last 4 years spent as a self employed carpenter amongst other trades
living off grid in a converted shipping on my family's land.
Electronically minded can fix pretty much anything that plugs in or takes batteries so if you need something fixed I'd be good at that
Grew up with horses tractors sheep chickens and guinea fowl. So no stranger to mucking out and hard work and getting my hands dirty.
The last two summers I've been working on my own eco-house (see photos) made from shipping the containers. With help from my builder friend we've converted barebones Shipping containers into a wonderful off grid home set in the Kent country side. I helped him fit all of the battening to the walls And then fit all the recycled insulation boards and fibreglass wool that I had managed to source for free.
The whole building is off grid apart from the water, so I designed and built the solar system. Which includes 500 W of solar panel, 8 x12 volt Lead Acid Sealed batteries hooked up in Parallel and Series to a 48v 5 Kilowatt inverter.
This gives us all the Creature comforts of home off the grid such as TVs, kettles, multiple speakers sound system and even electric blankets for the winter.
I'm very keen to help out on anyone else's homesteading or eco-house project or even just put some solar powered lights up in the shed or garden.
