Description

Hey there! I'm Marissa, a curious American with a serious travel bug. After three years of exploring, I've just finished my second master's degree at Sciences Po in northern France, focusing on human migration and development. Now, I'm looking for meaningful work in that area. In the meantime, I work with children, which is honestly the most rewarding thing ever.

When I'm not studying or working, you can probably find me on a rugby field – I play for a French team and we travel all over Europe for games! I grew up on a small farm in northern Minnesota (think very small village!), raising everything from chickens and pigs to cats, dogs, and a huge garden. I'm a total gardening enthusiast. I speak English fluently, and I'm conversational in French and Russian. If you need a hand with anything, let me know! I've worked in education, on farms, doing light maintenance (painting, furniture repair), theater construction, childcare, and pet care. I'm always up for learning something new!

I pride myself on being a highly adaptable and resourceful individual. I'm not afraid of hard work and I'm always eager to learn new things. I have a broad range of practical skills, including:

- Childcare: experienced in various setting to provide safe, engaging care for children of various ages

- Animal care: lifelong experience with chickens, pigs, cows, horses, dogs, cats and the general upkeep of a small farm environment

- Gardening: passionate about growing food and maintain gardens, comfortable with planting, weeding, harvesting, and general maintenance

- Maintenance & Repair: capable of handling basic painting, house and furniture repair, and moving tasks. I'm comfortable with hand tools and have a good understanding of DIY projects

- Construction & Painting: experiences in set construction and painting within a theatrical environment
