Hi,
My name is Mina, I am 36 years old. I am originally from Bulgaria, grew up in Germany and have been moving and travelling quite a lot through the world. For the past ten years I have been calling London my home.
What I love about travelling the most is gaining new experiences, meeting new people, stepping out of the ordinary day-to-day routines and through this learning more about myself and life.

I have always enjoyed working with people. I have had quite a few different work experiences over the last years, but what brings all of them together is my desire to get to know people and help where I can. As such I have worked in the humanitarian and charity sector, with lots of volunteering abroad such as in Nepal or Bangladesh, where I spent 3 months. I worked as a flight attendant for five years of my life which allowed me travel and wander, and provided me with experience of working with people in a service sector setting.

The last few years I have worked with children and families as a social worker in the UK. Due to personal reasons I have decided to take a break from this. I went to Mexico for three months in tnhe winter and am now back in Europe ready to explore different ways of life. I am very curious to learn new things, especially in sustainable, ecological and healing spheres, as these are all things that inspire me as a person and I want to learn more about. I am interested in yoga, meditation, breathwork, singing and anything to do with body movement practice including dance.

I am fluent in English, German and Bulgarian. I have a conversational level of French, and intermediate level of Spanish. I would love to practice my Spanish and French wherever I can.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have worked with vulnerable people in a number of NGO jobs and my job as a social worker, through which I have gained skills in communicating with people and working with people from all sorts of backgrounds. These jobs have also provided me with skills in writing reports, written communication more generally and communication with people and organisations.

As part of charity placements abroad I have taught English, such as in Nepal and Bangladesh, which was at local schools. In Bangladesh me and a group of volunteers facilitated workshops on gender equality and civic participation.

I worked as a flight attendant for five years, through which I have travelled and provided service delivery to many passengers. These skills will be transferrable to any Workaway experience where I have face to face contact with clients, travellers and people generally.

I have language skills that will help me communicate with a broad range of people, including English, German and Bulgarian, additionally some knowledge of French and basic Spanish which I am looking to refresh and learn more of.

I have travelled a lived in many different places and setting, which makes me adaptable and flexible to many different environments.

I am open-minded, responsible and committed to learning new things and will take the chance to gain new skills on board with enthusiasm and motivation!
