I love to immerse myself in nature and to care for animals. It is deeply enjoyable for me to move my body especially outdoors, whether it’s going on a hike, canoeing, snorkelling or working out.

Dear fellow Workawayers and Hosts,
8 years ago, after studying microbiology, I was drawn out into the world. I had a strong desire to discover new things in a different environment and to learn new facets of myself.
The first big stop was New Zealand, which I was able to travel through for 14 months (Work and Travel). This was followed by shorter trips to Asia (Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam) as well as England, Ireland and Canada.
This time of traveling opened up a wonderful, lively, diverse and colorful world to me.
I love finding my way around a new environment, getting to know new people and their perspective on the world and learning new skills.
These 1.5 years were some of the most beautiful and enriching moments of my life and I am so grateful to have experienced this time.
When I arrived back in Germany, it took a while until I had settled in again and I tried to lead a “normal” life.
But due to a blow of fate in the family in 2019, I was forced to take over my father's company. From one day to the next, I was suddenly the managing director of a metalworking company that manufactured connectors for measurement and control technology. I was responsible for 10 employees and many demanding customers. I have successfully continued to run the company for the last 6 years and have now finally been able to hand it over to a suitable successor.
In contrast, these past 6 years were the hardest time of my life.
Now I long for more lightness and liveliness again.
I firmly believe that "traveling is like medicine". And I want a large dose of it :D
For this reason, in May 2025 I will be heading to Ireland - one of my favorite countries.
This is where I feel at home. This is where traveling (back to myself) should begin again...
A few more words about me as a person:
I am a very enthusiastic and eager-to-learn person. I have an open and approachable nature and am honest and very reliable. I enjoy having in-depth conversations and getting to know other people's perspectives. It fills me with joy when I can help someone and we achieve great things together.
I am very excited to see who I will get to know on my next trip and I am looking forward to the exchange!

I love to speak English but since I haven't had the chance to do so in the past couple of years my skills became a bit rusty. Now I really want to improve my English speaking skills again. I am a native German speaker and enjoy teaching my language to others, who are interested.Compétences et connaissances que j'aimerais partager ou apprendre

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I love cooking and would say that my Thai curries taste excellent. I have also worked as a commis chef in several restaurants and I really enjoyed that a lot!
Thanks to my background as a microbiologist, I am also used to working hygienically and cleanly.
I have tried out a variety of jobs on my travels. I worked in a Kiwi Fruit Pack House, on a macadamia farm, on a vineyard and at the surf shop Rip-Curl as a salesperson. I worked in housekeeping in several hostels.
But what I enjoyed most was working with animals on various farms. For example, I worked on two dairy farms and was responsible for milking, feeding and driving the cows. Looking after the calves was one of the best jobs. Mucking out the stables is also no problem for me at all.
Thanks to my many years of experience as a managing director, I am used to working independently and tackling problems intuitively and purposefully. I am a very energetic person and can be dealt with on a wide range of topics in a focused manner. Thanks to my organizational talent and structured way of working, I can create order even in a chaotic environment.
I have good communication skills and am friendly with customers. I also love working in a team. Together we are stronger than alone! And everything is much more fun!
Last year I worked in a canoe rental business for several months. Canoeing (in light whitewater) is one of my passions and I really enjoyed giving safety instructions to customers, handing out the equipment and boats and working as an instructor on the water. I also have a trailer license and was able to load and transport the boats myself.Âge

Learning skills in maintenance, wood work, building projects.... I would like to be more confident in these areas.
