Description

On paper, I'm an engineer but in reality, I'm more of a problem solver, a “fixer”. Whether it's at work, at home, in the garden, keeping the car running, helping kids understand something, or just making things work, I enjoy finding solutions. I really enjoy to come with new ideas and inspire you to new challenges and then implement them.

Lately, I've created my own global role as a videographer and photographer within the company. I record and edit instructional videos for our employees worldwide. Over the past ten years, I've also developed technical training materials and taught others how to manage water and wastewater systems. My colleagues and friends would see me as a teacher, and they're right, I've been teaching in various ways for over 20 years now.

I'm a hands-on, practical person, but my background is quite diverse. I've worked in design, marketing, sales, broadcasting, technical support, and of course, teaching and helping both old and young students to prepare for a future career.

After visiting the Portuguese Azores three times since 1989, I'm now looking to spend ~1–2 months / year on one of the islands. If you need an open-minded person who can communicate well and solve problems, I'm your guy!

I'm currently studying Portuguese at a university in Sweden and speak fluent Swedish, English, and Norwegian. I also get by in German, thanks to my time living in Sweden, Norway, the USA, the UK, and the Netherlands.

Ideally, I'd love to find a setup where I can contribute and work for a month or two, once a year. But I'm open to other ideas! My family is in Sweden, so I plan to go back and forth between Portugal and home.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

• Fixing & Repairing – I’m handy with all kinds of repairs, whether it’s cars, appliances, electronics, computers, or general hardware.
• Driving & Getting Around – I have a driver’s license and no problem handling transport when needed or guiding around visitors.
• Thinking on My Feet – My experience in improvisational theater has made me adaptable in conversations.
• Speaking Languages – I love languages but not grammatics. I’m fluent in Swedish, English, and Norwegian, comfortable in German and Dutch, and currently learning Portuguese.
• Square Dancing – Have you tried Square dance? It is a lot of fun and I have done for years.
• People Person – Open-minded, easygoing, and always up for a good conversation or new connections.

• I have been enjoying Western style Horseback riding.
• Participate in Square Dancing if we got a local "Caller" or do some other dances.
• Teach some basics of Improvisational Theater teqniques.
• Teach some Fault finding for machinery and appliances in a home.
