Hi! My name is McKenzie, and I get true fulfillment from spending time outside in beautiful places. I am an avid rock climber and budding mountaineer and love being in the alpine; however, I am here in Southeast Asia right now because I have always wanted to experience a true jungle environment! I have dreamed of seeing an environment like this for years, and would love to do some deep jungle trekking during my time here.
I really appreciate meeting new people and creating genuine connections and community with people in the places I find myself. I am constantly amazed at the things you can learn and the opportunities that can arise from sparking up conversation with people around you.
Another thing that brings me genuine joy is music! I love to sing, dance, play guitar and piano, listen to music, find new music, talk about music…you get the idea :)
I’m really looking forward to connecting with a host who I can give energy to, and who can help me by allowing me to spend time in the jungle. Thank you!

I have a lot of energy, and I love to move my body and feel tired in my whole body after a day of work or play (or both!). I am a very active person and do a lot of backpacking and rock climbing, so I am strong and able to do physically taxing work. In fact, I prefer this kind of work! I also am familiar with lots of knots and different rope skills.
I also am an experienced caregiver. I absolutely love children, and I’ve worked with children of all ages for many years! I have also worked with elderly folks and adults with severe physical and developmental disabilities. I am very easy to get along with and I love helping people meet their goals and creating smiles :)
I spent about 1.5 years living on a permaculture-based eco village in western North Carolina. Here I learned basic gardening, composting, landscaping, and construction skills, as well as interpersonal skills. I would love to continue to learn more about living with the land and expand these skills. I have lived without electricity and running water, and back home I live in my car; I don’t need much to be comfortable!
I also am creative and love to make music and art. I especially love to sing, paint, and collage!

I love to practice yoga and I try to do it daily. I’m always interested in expanding my practice, and would like to do a yoga teacher training in the future. You can often find me practicing different knots and different rope skills to help me when climbing in the mountains. And I love the book the Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac!
