First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to Alexandra and Michael! I stayed with them during the month of April, and my main tasks were gardening and cleaning the common areas. The work was well-organized and clear. I had an absolutely wonderful time with them. Alexandra and Michael are truly wonderful people-incredibly kind, welcoming, and always helpful. They made me feel at home from day one, and I couldn't have asked for better hosts. thank you and see you soon :)

First of all, I'd like to say that it was my first ever Workaway experience, and I strongly believe I couldn't have found better people. They made me feel at home from the first moment, as if I'd been their friend for a long time. I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Jose, and I feel like I've built a very strong bond with him. We talked about literally everything, from the funniest things we've created to the strangest experiences we've had, to the deepest stories. I really enjoyed spending time with someone like him. As for Nick, I had fewer opportunities to spend time with him, since he had to work all day, but I still really enjoyed our chats and the occasional jobs we did together! As for Charlie, he's a very intelligent and funny guy! I really had fun watching him and José practice the dance for the school event😂; I hope it goes well! I also really appreciated him coming up with new games to play with us; I loved his creativity! Another thing I have to say is that they really helped me improve my Spanish: after a week, I was speaking like never before. As for the location, I felt truly at home, and everything they asked me to do felt like I was doing it for myself. Furthermore, in just a few minutes by car (or bike), you can reach Bocairent, a small but very unique town. Agres is another beautiful place, with its monastery and springs. Plus, the natural surroundings are breathtaking; the Cuevas de las Fenestras are a must-see if you're in the area! There are also many beautiful trails for cycling and running! I'd say that, despite being a small place, it offers so much to do. Thanks to Jose and Nick for giving me the opportunity to live this experience. I'd really love to return someday!

Manjola war eine ganz tolle Unetrstützung. Sie ist sehr zuverlässig und verantwortungsbewusst. Gemeinsam mit einer anderen Workawayerin aus Finnland hat sie unser komplettes Kiefernwäldchen gerecht und uns auch bei anderen Arbeiten im Garten super geholfen. Auch der Austausch mit ihr neben der Arbeit war sehr bereichernd. Vielen Dank dafür ... vielleicht gibt es ja mal ein Wiedersehen :-) Manjola was a brilliant help. She is very reliable and responsible. Together with another Workawayer from Finland, she pruned our entire pine grove and was also a great help with other jobs in the garden. Chatting with her outside of work was also very enriching. Thank you so much for that... maybe we’ll meet again one day :-)

✌️🫡❤️😀 Ronja joined us for a few days at our place in italy. Everything was perfect! Shes very communicatice, flexible and a great person to have around you! Thank for taking care for the dogs and the chicken! You're welcomed back anytime!!! :)

I am so grateful to Brigette and Al for their hospitality during my stay. They have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to animal care and land work. They are both very kind, and we had interesting conversations over meals and bonfires. They are communicative, and create clear expectations about the work needed to be done and hours required. The work itself often requires physical strength and grit, but was very manageable as a 22 y/o 170 cm woman. In exchange, they genuinely want you to enjoy your experience with them. There is no work on the weekends, and they were even so kind as to give me an additional day off to borrow their car and visit the beautiful national park nearby before my flight back home. I also got injured at one point (entirely my fault for being clumsy), but they handled the situation very well and had first aid supplies and encouraged me to rest. They are very accommodating people! They have lots of experience hosting volunteers, and have created room and board that is comfortable, clean, and close to nature. There are usually multiple volunteers staying with them, and this creates a cordial environment and an opportunity to develop new friendships. From my experience, they select respectful, hardworking, and friendly volunteers. I got along very well with my co-volunteer. The mountain views are simply beautiful, the animals are all very sweet and well-behaved, especially considering they are wild/free-range. I especially loved the donkey, Chiquita, who prefers human company. Despite only staying for 2 weeks, I would absolutely recommend this workaway to curious volunteers, and hope to come back again soon! Miss you both! Haleh

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit mit Sanna. Sie ist sehr zuverlässig und verantwortungsbewusst und eine tolle Unterstützung. Da wir im April noch keine Gäste hatten, hat sie uns bei der Wald- und Gartenarbeit super geholfen. Auch der Austausch mit ihr neben der Arbeit war sehr bereichernd. Vielen Dank dafür ... wir würden sie jederzeit gerne wieder bei uns haben :-) We had a lovely time with Sanna. She is very reliable and responsible, and a great help. My first Workaway experience with Stef was amazing. Because it was my first time, I had many questions, and he answered them all with care. He picked me up from the nearest station, and as soon as I got into his car, I immediately felt at ease. Stef is a good conversationalist, and he goes to great lengths to ensure you have a good time. He puts in tremendous effort to make you feel at ease in his beautiful, small vegetable garden in the making. I learned a lot during my stay, especially by listening to Stef's life advice. He is a wonderful, friendly man who made my first Workaway experience unforgettable, even though I wasn't quite ready to work 25 hours a week yet after my burnout. To top it all off, he taught me how to bake sourdough bread and surprised me with his delicious vegan meals. There are many different work opportunities, and you can choose for yourself what kind of work you want or are able to do. I will focus on my studies for the next few years, but if the opportunity arises, I will definitely come back! :)

We had a wonderful experience hosting Michelle and Tobias. They were fantastic guests—hardworking, respectful, and always willing to help with whatever was needed. They made a huge difference in our garden, which was in need of a lot of work when they arrived. Through their effort, attention to detail, and dedication, they transformed it into a beautiful space that we can now truly enjoy. We were amazed by how much they accomplished during their stay. Beyond the work, Michelle and Tobias were a pleasure to have around. We enjoyed sharing meals, conversations, and getting to know them. They were friendly, easygoing, and fit right into our daily life. We would happily welcome them back anytime and highly recommend them to any future host.

Ryuji was friendly, helpful and very capable. He performed a range of tasks including garden work, installing panels, setting up cameras (for dog viewing), cleaning and a few other tasks. He was well skilled in many things and always approached his task without hesitation. He was nice, quiet and his travel experience is inspiring.

I had a wonderful experience with this beautiful family. From the very first day, Kathleen and Vincent made me feel at home, and the whole family welcomed me with so much warmth that I immediately felt safe and comfortable with them. I loved sharing simple moments together, like chatting during meals, laughing about little things and spending time in the house with everyone. They made me feel included in everything, and that kindness meant a lot to me. The gardening in the mornings was peaceful and enjoyable, and it made me rediscover how nice it is to work outdoors. The tasks were always clear and never stressful, and they were always ready to help or explain anything I needed. Their home is lovely, with a big garden and a calm atmosphere that made every day feel light and pleasant. Life in the house was full of warmth, smiles and genuine affection. We shared beautiful moments, great conversations and many laughs that I will remember with a lot of fondness. I am truly grateful for the month I spent with them last month. They are very special people, and I could not have asked for a better Workaway experience. I hope to see them again soon.

Adam was here for one and a half week. This time of year we needed help trimming grass under the electric fenses for the sheep and removing small bushes. He is polite and followed the house roles.

Staying with Eddy for two weeks was our most transformative experience so far. Eddy is a teacher, a guide, and a friend and he and his parents welcomed us to their home like family. Admittedly, the first two days were humbling - the comforts of daily life are naturally limited due to the circumstances (no running water, a dry toilet, half an hour by car on bumpy roads to reach the next supermarket and limited resources overall) and we hardly slept in the beginning due to the nightly heat in May. But Eddy helped us to deal with these challenges and was always open for or coming up with solutions. Then, very quickly, we fell in love with the daily routine, the tasks, the animals, the surrounding nature and the people we met. If we hadn't had plans afterwards, we would have prolonged our stay for sure. Also, Eddy is always happy to teach you about everything he knows, which is a lot, and even gave us a little solar power workshop. Some advice for fellow workawayers: - not coming by car is possible, but daunting. we were really happy to have one, also for expeditions and going to Sardinal - bring canned food, since you won't always have access to a refrigerator - if you love your comfort zone very much, this is not the place for you 😉

It’s a pleasure to write this first reference for Fabio, who stayed with us for two weeks as a Workawayer from Italy this June. Fabio was an absolute standout guest and one of the best Workawayers we’ve hosted. He’s easygoing, hardworking, and incredibly reliable; exactly the kind of person any host would be lucky to have. His attitude was consistently positive: he arrived each day motivated, asked good questions, and never shied away from a challenge. During his stay he helped with a wide range of tasks: Gardening & grounds: He worked hard outside, keeping everything tidy and well-maintained. Household & cleaning: He was meticulous and took initiative to keep shared spaces in great condition. Painting: He approached this with care and attention to detail, delivering a great finish. Tougher Jobs: Fabio even stepped up for demanding tasks like work on the septic tank without hesitation. That says a lot about his character and willingness to help. Beyond the work, Fabio was a pleasure to have around. He’s friendly, respectful, great to chat with, and adapted to our routine effortlessly. He left our home and garden in an incredibly much better shape than when he arrived. I would welcome Fabio back anytime and recommend him without any reservation to other hosts. He’s trustworthy, self-motivated, and brings great energy to any project. Ciao Fabio! Safe travels!

Silvia and Francesca were awesome company and fun to have stay here with me. They get on well together and work well together. They both radiate enthusiasm with a can do attitude. The work I requested was challenging moving mulch around my garden ,which is situated on a hill, however, they managed to get it done with smiling faces. I really appreciate their hard working efforts. They respected the area spotting wild life and taking walks into the bush. They were well accepted and liked by my small community joining in on trivia night and coming out to listen to some local music and having a dance. They were extremely respectful house guest and wonderful cooks too. Their "Eggplant Parmigiana" was deliziosa!!! (I hope my Italian is correct). They taught me some basic Italian words and phases and we laughed a lot together. I would always welcome them back here into my home. I can highly recommend them to future hosts as respectful guest, fun company and good workers. I wish them both safe travels and I hope to see them again one day.

I and my two children planned to stay 1,5 week in Chantal and Ybo's house. Finally we stay 2,5 weeks because it was very friendly there ! They offered us a wonderful house and chalet to live, we were able to enjoy their beautiful swimming-pool, the peacefulness of their place. The kids played a lot with all the children that stayed in the place (we were different families of Workawayers). The works Ybo asked me to do were perfect for me and he always asked me if I was ok. We had interesting discusions because they have had a lot of lives and a lot to share ! I just want to thanks them for everything, it was a wonderful expérience. And we all 3 hope to come back one day !

It was a great pleasure having you here, Veronika. You are a relaxed, open-minded, and curious young woman. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations and hikes around Quirós, where I live and work as an artist. Your virtuoso guitar playing and beautiful voice were a real asset to the music and jam sessions we often hold in our little village. During your week here, you were a great help around the house. Thanks to your creativity in cooking and baking, we ate very well. And we also found time to experiment a bit with new lighting for my indoor photography. Thank you so much for everything. I wish you a continued wonderful and enriching journey!

I had a very happy stay in George’s land :) almost three weeks! George is a very busy person, but always aware if anything is needed. He also likes to speak about life :) On fridays, we used to go to the market in the closest town, that was very nice. There was always a lot of work to do! The place is stunning, such a wild nature, I felt really good there. I enjoyed so much being with Uma, the cute dog, Golem the loving cat, and Morgana and Gorrión, the two old horses that arrived a little later than me. I just went through my fear to the horses with them, they are soo nice. Thanks for everything George! Hope you get a lot of volunteers to help you maintain your beautiful place!!

Super expérience chez Achille et Josefa pour la dernière étape de notre voyage ! Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par l'ensemble de la famille. Le travail était varié, nous avons aidé à l'entretien du jardin du domaine familial, et aidé Achille sur différents travaux de construction de sa maison. Chaque jour dans la bonne humeur, nous prenions une petite pause maté pour pouvoir discuter de tout. On a beaucoup apprécié cette expérience où nous avons aussi beaucoup appris sur la culture Chilienne et le pisco. En bref on s'est senti comme en famille et entre amis, c'était super, nous reviendrons sans hésiter. Nous conseillons ce volontariat à toute personne qui aimerait prendre un peu de temps dans la vallée de Elqui et partager de bons moments en toute simplicité. Aussi le logement est très agréable avec tout ce qu'il faut on s'y est senti super bien. Merci Achille et Josefa :))

What a place! We feel very lucky to have stayed here for 4 weeks. The scenery, the nature, the beautiful structures and the AMAZING food. We loved the community that is being built here and in particular the language exchange with permanent resident Dora. We had a wide range of tasks from building some stairs, landscaping, and greenhouse care, to painting signs, hosting, and sanding floors. There is enough for everyone's skill sets, this would suit someone who is self motivated. We are here for the start of rainy season (May to June) and would advise people coming at a similar time to bring fast drying clothes that they are not sentimentally attached to - the jungle may claim them.
