Scott is amazing. He adapted very well, works very hard, helped us cook many times, played a lot with the kids, and we went out to eat a couple of times. Don’t hesitate—accept Scott into your volunteer program, you won’t regret it!

Brian was a member of our family for three months and we loved having him. He was careful and conscientious with his work, was a pleasure to be around in his off-time. He really pitched in with everything and anticipated the things that needed doing before being asked (keeping the house in firewood for example). He was a great companion playing chess with our son Ned and was patient when our daughter wanted to help with say feeding the pigs or cows. we hope he will come back!

I had 10 magical days in this haven and I feel truly honoured to have experienced this land and everything it has to offer. There is so much to explore, everyday was like stepping into a new world, I've never experienced such a diverse and abundant ecosystem and the whole experience was made so much richer with Noya's wisdom, knowledge, and passion for the land. Everyday we went hiking and Noya would share so much knowledge about the different plant species and wildlife, she really has such a deep relationship with these lands and I felt very inspired to be around someone that really embodies this idea of land stewardship. The house has everything you could want, hot showers, comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, an abundance of adorable, excitable, loving animals, every book you can imagine, a fire for the evening, games etc. It was really such a restful experience and truly special to work together in the day and then relax with a good meal or around the fire in the evening. I was ill whilst I was there and Noya was so accommodating, making healing soups, and giving me more gentle tasks which I appreciated so much. If you have the time to spare I wouldn't pass up this opportunity, I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Colombia!

Felix and Emma were an absolute pleasure to have here. I had to leave the country for about a week, and they stayed on as house sitters and dog walkers—everything went perfectly smoothly during that time. When I returned, the dogs were happy, well cared for, and clearly very attached to them (a few even chose to keep sleeping in their casita instead of coming back to mine… I eventually forgave them). Felix and Emma were incredibly helpful, full of amazing travel stories, and just genuinely fun to be around. The dogs got fantastic hikes every day and absolutely adored them. Thank you again, Felix and Emma. You’re always welcome back anytime—please come visit us again if you’re ever in the area.

Jeremy stayed with us for over a month, and we were sad when he had to leave (but also excited for his new adventures). We shared so many wonderful moments—meals, laughter, deep conversations, and much more! He came to us with energy, and open mind, and kindness, he also possesses a great passion for connecting with the land and for learning everything he can about it, the local area, its history, and its culture. He is someone who observes and learns quickly, and he is capable of moving projects forward independently. He helped us with a variety of projects: building with cob, preparing garden beds, planting, caring for the animals, and more. He also looked after the homestead while we were away on a 10-day trip—and he did a fantastic job! Jeremy knows how to flow seamlessly within a community setting; he is wonderful, patient, and fun with children, and he can sense where energy and guidance are needed without needing to be managed . We are confident that he would be a positive presence in any situation or environment. We truly enjoyed our time with Jeremy, and he is welcome back anytime!

My experience with Abdulmalik was truly wonderful. As it was my first time in the Middle East and I was traveling solo as a woman, I felt not only completely safe, but also genuinely welcomed and cared for. From the very beginning, Abdulmalik made an effort to introduce me to Omani culture and show me the highlights of Muscat. What made the experience even more special was meeting his friends and family—each and every one of them was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made me feel even more at home. One of the highlights was our day trip to Misfat Al Abriyeen, where we went hiking, explored the area, and shared so many laughs. We also did a fun car tour, had a barbecue together, and just enjoyed great moments all around. Later, Abdulmalik helped me continue my journey by bringing me to Nizwa, which made my onward travel smooth and stress-free. Starting my journey in Oman with him was incredibly valuable—I learned so much about the country, the culture, and how things work, which gave me a lot more confidence to continue traveling on my own. I also loved that we got to make art together. Abdulmalik introduced me to graffiti, and I really enjoyed the experience—it’s something I hope to continue exploring in the future. He is a very calm, easygoing, and kind person to spend time with, and I feel truly grateful for this experience. I can wholeheartedly recommend staying with him to anyone.

March is being a peaceful and productive month despite some rainy days and with her company and her help Mali definitely contributed to create a light and friendly atmosphere! Hard worker and really creative person, not afraid of getting her hands dirty, she also gave us an amazing masterclass on flowers arrangements and decorate for Easter the all campsite with wild flowers she picked around the property! And what about the Ravioli she made with Gea... uauuu!!!!! And a month just flew by without even realising !! Thank you for your help Mali! I hope one day you'll come back to visit us again!!!

Sweet Roya! We had a wonderful time with Roya; she stayed with us for two weeks, and it felt as though we had known her for ages, as she radiates a brilliant light and a joy that are truly contagious. She enthusiastically joined in on all the projects we had going on: building with cob (adobe) for our indoor shower, performing maintenance tasks around the house and property, and planting seeds—plus, she even helped organize and prepare my daughter's birthday party, among many other things! We shared great moments, meals, deep conversations, laughter, and so much more! We are convinced that Roya would fit into a diversity of workaways settings; she is a highly responsible and adaptable individual, capable of being extremely productive. 100% recommended!

Michaela was here in spring 2025 and helped us a lot with fencing, gardening and all the animals. I think the chickens were her favourites. Michaela is a pleasant individual to have around and we enjoyed her company. We whish her all our best.

We truly miss having Merav around! From the very start, she felt like a member of the family. She adapted perfectly to our busy pace over Easter and was straightforward about her needs. Totally reliable, her support provided such relief, allowing us to relax knowing that all tasks were in good hands. Thank you, Merav; we hope you can make it back to Tozu

I spent a total of one month here. It was a wonderful time, and such a lovely family! :) Cathy, Jim, and Carla. I really enjoyed our dinners together and the atmosphere of the place. I spent two wonderful weeks with Isabella and her son Morgan, along with their two lovely dogs, in their small village surrounded by the jungle. It was truly a special experience that allowed me to reconnect deeply with nature and slow down in a meaningful way. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed. Isabella is an incredibly kind and generous host, and her hospitality made me feel at home right away. Sharing daily life with them was simple, genuine, and enriching. One of the highlights was definitely the food — Isabella prepares delicious meals with so much care and love, and it was always a joy to share those moments together. We also had the chance to visit some stunning beaches nearby, which made the experience even more unforgettable. The peacefulness of the place, the sounds of the jungle, and the presence of the animals created an atmosphere that I will carry with me for a long time. I’m very grateful for this experience and would highly recommend staying with them to anyone looking for a true connection with nature and a welcoming, authentic environment. My time here was amazing! This was my first workaway experience and I had such a wonderful time, I can't speak highly enough of it. Martina is so kind and welcoming, she made me feel right at home as soon as I arrived. The work is not too difficult, I spent most of my time winding balls of yarn, sewing and glueing dried flowers on her packaging paper. She also was excited to show me around her town and learn about Chilean and Northern Patagonian culture. We hunted for muscles at the beach, visited the the corral de pesca and she taught me how to weave on her waist loom! The food is also so delicious and she was very conscious of my food allergies which was very comforting to know. One of the best weeks I've had traveling, I would definitely recommend!

Rodrigo was an excellent volunteer, a very respectful, calm, and motivated person. We shared great conversations and exchanged opinions. It was a great pleasure having Rodrigo here, and I highly recommend.

La mia esperienza con Roberta è stata eccellente! Sono stata accolta calorosamente dalla sua famiglia. Ho soggiornato per quasi un mese ed è stata un'esperienza meravigliosa. La proprietà è molto grande e c'erano molti animali amichevoli. L'ho aiutata a finire di costruire un pollaio e un ricovero per le oche, ho pulito la stalla dei cavalli e ho dato da mangiare agli animali. Ho imparato molto da questa esperienza. Michèle mi ha insegnato a guidare il trattore e la motocoltivatore. Ho imparato molto anche da Diamante. Mi hanno aiutato tantissimo; è stato fantastico. Roberta è una donna eccezionale e cucina benissimo. Lugo è una città interessante. Grazie per tutto quello che hai fatto per me. Non vi dimenticherò mai. Consigliatissima.

I spent 10 days on board in Bocas del Toro and it was a mix between exploring the island at the marina and anchoring near different islands. Bocas is a beautiful area with turquoise water and mangroves, with bioluminescence at night. Sam is a very competent skipper and knows everything about boats, which means even when things do go wrong I felt completely safe in his hands. He is completely open to ideas and very easy going which makes it so much fun and a pleasure to be on board. Sam is an excellent host and couldn't recommend this workaway more. Can't wait to follow where Sam's boat takes him! Hopefully he'll have more success with catching lobsters in future!

Maria brought such a positive energy, always with a big smile and a cheerful, easygoing vibe that made everything feel lighter. We especially loved the beautiful drawing she made of our view — it’s something we will truly cherish and keep as a special memory 💛 Obrigada Maria!

We had a great experience with Aga and her family. She was helping in english lessons in the school, and Marcin was helping in some building and mainteinance around the house they stayed in. The girls joined the school as students, though it was a bit difficult for them since they didn't talk much spanish, we think they enjoyed being part of our school for a month. The family is very chill and independent but also always open to share some meal or enjoy a daytrip.

I had a great time in this beautiful country house with Letícia, her family, her neighbour. They are all soooo nice and welcoming! Their little girl is precious!🥰 I chatted a lot, got to know a lot about Croatia, the language, the music, did amazing walks...and some times I even worked a bit! Thank you. I hope to see you one day again, dear new friends 🤗

Marike was a great volunteer to host here. She is a humble, low-maintenance person who adapted quickly to the hot, humid tropical climate and handled the physically demanding work with resilience. She worked hard, picked up new skills quickly, and showed genuine care for our animals, spending time with both the cats and dogs. Marike was very self-sufficient and managed her time well, often reading during her free time, which made the hosting experience easy and relaxed. She required little to no supervision, kept shared spaces clean, and was overall a reliable and positive presence. We would happily host her again and recommend her to other hosts.
