Hi! I am a Portuguese language teacher in my late 50s. I have taught English and German for over 30 years in Portugal in middle schools. I love my job, especially the challenge of motivating students, so I always get involved in many projects.
I also love traveling, meeting people and cultures.
I am married and have 3 grown up children, so lots of experience with kids!
I care a lot about the environment, recycling and reusing are for me big priorities.
I don't smoke, drink alcohol or eat meat and am very interested in vegetarian cooking. I get along well with cats and dogs. I am quite good with handwork.
I may be a good help with taking care of children, teaching languages (Portuguese, English, German, French), doing hostel tasks, helping with computer work, general housework like cooking, cleaning. Farming and gardening also interest me.
I don't like the heat.
I think this big adventure of volunteering abroad, meeting and helping people, exchanging ideas, learning new skills is soooo amazing!
I have been gathering memorable experiences with workway and hope to keep on doing so!😍

This was the last workaway experience in my sabbatical year and it couldn't have been better. I had an amazing time with the kindest people, Lourdes and her friends in this fairy tale place! Here I met a nice, cool couple and the sweetest baby! Work for them was a pleasure. I looked after the baby for about 3 hours and did some house chores. I could also go for long walks with the baby and help at the biofarm (from where we got all the awesome vegetables).
