Martin is a really helpful chap and is keen to be participate in family life. He's also a great cook which is a bonus. He sees household jobs that need to be done and just does them which is also a great quality to have. He's responsible, reliable and has great energy and is methodical too. Welcome back anytime. Wai Sum (Mivy) and Wataru were everything we look for in 'Workaway' guests - they were interesting and interested, helpful, self-motivated and did the jobs we gave them really well and without supervision. They took good care of our animals for a couple of days when we had to travel for work unexpectedly. We enjoyed sharing meals and conversation with them and hope we will stay in touch - would not hesitate to recommend them as guests

Anett stayed with us in June 2026, together with another Workawayer, Daphne from the Netherlands. We had a really lovely and fun time together on the farm. She is a bright, friendly and cheerful person with a very sunny character. Most of the time she was motivated, helpful and interested in the work. She especially enjoyed peeling spruce logs with a drawknife and did a great job with it. We also cooked regularly and peeled chestnuts together, which was a nice shared experience. Annette was attentive, clean and respectful in the house, and pleasant to have around. She sometimes needed some time for herself, and unfortunately she was not feeling so well towards the end, so she left earlier than planned. That was a pity, as we would have enjoyed spending more time with her. I wish Anett all the best for her next steps and hope she continues to go out, meet people and take on new adventures. She is a kind and thoughtful person, and I can warmly recommend her to other hosts.

Julia, Stephan, and their wonderful daughter Alicia kindly welcomed us into their beautiful home after we had a horrible experience with a previous host. They are kind people and we shared many interesting conversations. Julia has a beautiful soul, and Stephan’s deep knowledge of esoteric topics was fascinating to learn about. They even shared their love for yoga with us and took us kite surfing! They took us on trips around the area and gave us the opportunity to go to Barcelona, which we are really grateful for! Having access to their car and scooter also gave us the independence to explore the amazing area. Over our three weeks, we helped clear bushes for fire prevention, removed the bad grass, sprayed the plants with protective agent, took care of grocery shopping and prepared vegetarian meals for the whole family. However, we spent most of our time with Alicia. She is a bright, lovely child and we grew so fond of her. Together, we explored nature, read books, drew, did yoga cards, made salt dough to print her hand, searched or screamed for peacocks 🦚🤍, danced and laughed together. We also spoke to her in German to support her bilingual upbringing. One weekend, we even looked after four other children so the parents could have a break and enjoy their weekend together. We played in the pool and lots of board games. We especially bonded with Peter, a very imaginative child we won’t forget. We are incredibly grateful to this amazing family for the opportunities they gave us. We wish them and Alicia all the best and hope she grows up to discover the world in her own unique way!!

I had an incredible time volunteering in Unawatuna. From the moment I arrived, Lucky made me feel welcome and part of the hostel family. He is a friendly, respectful, and supportive host who genuinely cares about both the guests and the volunteers. The tasks were clear, fair, and exactly as described, making the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. What made this Workaway truly special was the atmosphere at the hostel. I met amazing people from all over the world, and the relationships I built with the other volunteers are memories I will always cherish. We worked together, explored the area, shared meals, and had so many great moments that made my stay unforgettable. The balance between work and free time was excellent, giving me the opportunity to discover beautiful Unawatuna and experience Sri Lankan culture while contributing to the hostel. The work environment was positive, relaxed, and well organized. I am grateful to Lucky and everyone at the hostel for such a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this place to any volunteer looking for a meaningful Workaway experience, great people, and an unforgettable stay in Sri Lanka. Thank you for everything, and I hope our paths cross again in the future!

I had a great experience, teaching English at a local school (school 1 in the profile) near to Phayao for about one week! Everyone went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, the children are very cute and eager to learn (although fun of course, is the most important thing). I accompanied a different teacher each day and got to meet children from kindergarden to the age of 12 (: If you join the project, make sure you visit Hani at the community centre too! The communication and organization with him was great! It was very convenient for me to use the scooter, otherwise I imagine it is a bit hard to get around!

We spent six weeks living with the family on the boat and had a great time with them! Fabrice and Amandine are a very friendly and welcoming couple and the children were eager and enthusiastic to play with us from day one, so we felt settled in to boat life very quickly. It was a nice opportunity to experience a unique lifestyle, see lots of beautiful places along the Greek coastline, and have lots of nice swims!

Felix is a doer! He is so up for anything. He is a problem solver. He is a really great guy and we would like to have him here full time. Is there nothing you cannot do Felix.

Jonas has decided to stay with us for the foreseeable future. He is a sweet boy with lots of conversation and positive energy. Willing and useful he is able to give it a go and learns quickly. He is pretty tech savvy and helps us in a myriad of ways. We enjoy his humour and his quirky habits. Jonas is like a vine he gets himself well and truely wrapped up in your life and brings texture and interest with him.

We really enjoyed having Marie on the project for two months. She worked incredibly hard on site every single day and was always willing to jump in and help with anything that needed doing. She brought a really positive energy to the team and quickly became a great example for other volunteers. No matter how tough or busy things got, she never complained and always kept a good attitude. She was easy to live with, respectful, and just a genuinely lovely person to be around. We’re very grateful for all her help and would happily have her back anytime. Any host would be lucky to have her.

Thank you to Tracey and to Anna Lisa, her flatmate. I spent 10 days at their home and had a great experience. During my stay, I completed a variety of tasks independently, including cleaning horse equipment, bringing in firewood, cleaning windows, ironing, and clearing fallen leaves. Every morning, I also took care of the chickens by feeding them and making sure they had fresh water. The meals were always delicious and there was plenty of food. Tracey orders meal boxes similar to Hello Fresh, which was a great discovery for me. I also loved her omelette probably the second best omelette I've ever had, and I'm French! I really appreciated that Anna Lisa took the time to show me how to prepare a horse before riding, including how to put on the saddle and get everything ready. It was also very interesting to watch and learn about the training she does with her horse. I went to the pub quiz twice with Tracey, which was a lot of fun. I also went out to a bar with Anna Lisa and her boyfriend, Nick, which was a lovely evening. Also, I really appreciated that Tracey clearly told me my weekend was completely free. It allowed me to organise my time and make the most of my days off to explore the area. Thank you both for your kindness, hospitality and for making me feel welcome during my stay.

We had a beautiful experience with Anouk and Hugo. They are reliable and independent hard workers. They took care of the garden and our animals with love. Any task we gave them, has been reached great fully. They also are funny and smiling people, really nice to have around and co-live with. When they left, they cleaned carefully the accommodation and everything was tidy. Anouk also is a great chef and she always cooked great meals to Claudio while I (Elisa) was away. We have been really lucky to have them here and we highly recommend to everyone. Thank you for everything guys, we wish you the best and an amazing trip

It has been a true pleasure having Marie with us this week. She is an excellent volunteer, incredibly proactive, and brought wonderful energy to our home. From the very first moment, she was very willing to help, always asking how she could lend a hand. She was a great help preparing an iron gate and the garden woodwork for painting. Her help wasn't limited to gardening; she integrated perfectly into our daily life. She happily helped out in the kitchen. She speaks and understands Spanish wonderfully, which made living with her very easy, and she had great conversations with my mother, who was happy to chat with her. We also loved her natural curiosity about the language, as she was always eager to learn the meaning of new words. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her and learning about the customs of her country. Marie, our doors will always be open for you to come back whenever you like. Thank you so much for your help and your joy!

This place became one of the places I think of when I want to imagine a peaceful place. Since the first day Ladina and Sté received me with the arms open and made me feel like one more of the family. The place is very beautiful and you can enjoy a lot the nature in the surroundings. The tasks were pretty simple and easy. Basically I was taking care of the other family memebers: Ley, Grisha and the 3 chickens. Aside from that I was keeping the house in place, so maintaining the garden and inside the house clean. The days there passed so fast, even though I stay 2 weeks longer than agreed at first! When Sté and Ladina were around they took me to visit some places, give me many recomendations, help me improve my French and we played many board games. You can imagine... only good vibes! This place allowed to find myself again since you may be a lot of time on your own in such a quiet atmosphere. Not much more to say that you already know Sté and Ladina, thank you very much for everything, the experience was very enriching 🥰🩷

The farm is really big, and there is always something to do. We watered the plants, leveled the ground, painted the fence, and moved some plants to new places. Alex talked a lot about the plants, and we also had some interesting conversations about other things. His mother even gave us a small tour and told us about the interesting places to visit in the area.

Pat and John are the most lovely, badass and inspiring people living their off-grid dream. I had the privilege of spending some time with them on their beautiful and secluded land. it's an experience of a lifetime and one that I'd always remember. The day-to-day was always active with hands-on tasks and experiences. I spent time chopping firewood (after Pat and John took three trees down with the excavator); tending to the vegetable garden; helping out with fencing for the sheep paddock; spraying weeds and watering etc. During the evening we would have dinner together, watch the beautiful sunset while listening to the birds, share a drink and later gaze into the Milky Way. Coming from a corporate and big-city background, seeing and experiencing an active life off-grid with Pat and John was truly refreshing. I felt at home and was treated like a family member. We became good friends and been staying in touch ever since.

Sonia came to stay for a month but weren’t we happy that she stayed for another too, from the barren early spring – and even a day of snow – into the lush summer and a heat wave! In addition to the daily care of the animals, Sonia undertook many different tasks at the farm, from raking the yard and heroically mocking the horse paddock after winter (huge work!) to cleaning inside the house and preparing some delicious meals, among other things. She is super organizer, and the tack room in the stables totally transformed its appearance in her hands. She performed all the tasks in a very responsible and careful way. Sonia really cares for the welfare of the animals and knows her way around them– she even used some of her effective homeopathic skills while taking care of the horses, sheep and our dog. It is fair to say that Sonia got the full package of farm life with happy and not-so-happy events, and she provided valuable assistance in lambing too. Sonia is a lovely, interesting, smart and humorous person, who is curious for life and has no prejudices trying out new things. In her company one will never get bored! She is very social and bubbling on the one hand but also needs her dose of space and calm on the other. We shared many fun and cozy moments over dinners, on horse rides, in sauna, at the lake, in front of the television, in the company of animals or just chatting away on the car rides. It was a real pleasure to get to know Sonia – we wish her all the best things in her life until we’ll meet again!

These two quiet, gentle women were delightful company, helpful around the house and willing to try things they hadn't done before. We spent some time sight-seeing in the Southern Highlands and NSW South Coast together, which I would not have done without them. I was most pleased and grateful to complete a project to help store my big jigsaw puzzle collection. We constructed shelves from cement blocks and planks of pine wood from the hardware store. Their youthful strength and good humour saw the job done in no time.

We stayed for few days, less than 1 week at Lorraine's place and it was lovely. We had a great experience turning their old chicken place into a garden and cook one dinner for them. Lorraine and Warwick were nice people and it was a pleasure to help them to prepare that garden for next season ! We also learnt a lot. Also we lived in the big house they also rent when there no workaways, so we had our total privacy. Lorraine cooked us wonderful kiwi dinners ! Nice experience, go help them
