We are looking for backpackers who would like to work in exchange for accommodation and other benefits as previously explained. We need your help 5 hours per day, 3 days a week to help with the everyday upkeep tasks around the hostel and they have 4 days off per week, as well as helping with managing bookings and organizing events and teach yoga such as cycling, canoeing hiking, walking, and fishing tours. We offer an authentic cultural exchange, a rare privilege for many travelers in Sri Lanka, as not only will you be fully immersed in wonderful Sri Lanka nature mere minutes away from the touristy town center, but most important is in the evening to spend time with our guests and be sure that everyone has a good time.
Your primary duty will be to look after all guests, Our guests are the most important and we need to do our best so our guests have a good time.
We require backpackers with competence, teamwork, heart, a sense of cleanliness, and the ability to mingle and make an atmosphere.
We've had backpackers stay for over 6 months in the past because they loved the hostel and the people in it and its vibe and a strong sense of family and community. This hostel experience for you will be as good as how much you put into it.
Our regular staff includes a property manager and two assistants. Regular staff will take care of all housekeeping and kitchen. Tasks expected from the volunteers are socializing with guests, organizing events, as well as running some reception shifts on weekends and evenings. We aim to have 5 volunteers at a time, and each volunteer will be expected to contribute a Maximum of 5 hours a day, 3 days per week. When prepare meals which will be available to all volunteers at a 50% discount preparing by our local staff we don't need volunteers help for this. This 50% discount is optional we have small kitchen volunteers can use if they want. Volunteers will be provided free shared accommodation in a dorm room.

They can practice a local language. Spend free time at the sea, cycling, canoeing, hiking, or other beaches. In addition, volunteers can plan trips and explore the island during their off days as most places within Sri Lanka can be reached within a few hours. While each volunteer will have a roster, they will have some off days.

Each Workawayers will be allocated a Dormitory style mixed dorm room with beds (triple bunk) and a spacious shared bathroom consisting of 3 cabin showers, 3 basins, and 3 WC. Each bed is assigned a locker and a personal reading light. USB plug, which they will share with other guests, and bed linen will be provided
You can use the kitchen area to make tea or coffee. We don't provide meals.

I told you that I was sorry for this. I was really sick. I couldn't sleep on New Year's Eve because of stomach and headache and I had to go to the hospital urgently. But I know that you will not understand me. I hope you will not experience an illness like mine. I don't think you will understand me.

we worked here for 1.5 months and it's one of the best things we've ever done! very friendly feeling throughout the hostel, the boss (Lucky🫶🏼) makes the stay better, he makes everyone feel included and makes sure the stay is fun and eventful every day

I had a fantastic experience staying at this hostel. It was a very lively and social environment, which made it easy to connect with guests and other staff members. For me this was the first workaway I did and I'm glad I came here. The communication with Lucky went really well and he was helpful to learn the tasks in the hostel. The hostel was very social and I felt never bored there. The social calendar is also a plus! Thanks a lot to Lucky and hope to visit the place once again!

I stayed in the hostel for two weeks. The tasks were pretty chill. I worked three days per week and was responsible for check in and check outs, preparing breakfast and changing beds.

Staying at the hostel was super fun! I met a lot of new people, we had family dinners, trivia nights and so on- it was never boring :) Also If you like yoga and surfing thats the right spot for you! The work in general is very chill and you have a lot of free time. So glad i decided to come!
