Our program is a US-based, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that addresses the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters by engaging and leveraging volunteers, partner organizations, and local communities. Our organization arrives early for the first response and stays late to rebuild schools and homes in a disaster-resilient way.
We have been on the ground in the Philippines for a few years, working with local organizations to support the communities affected by so many typhoons. Our program is seeking volunteers to help with building a new disaster-resilient building with bamboo technology and WASH facilities for a local school in St. Nino. These two classrooms will serve over 90 students.
We provide 3 meals a day on each working day and accommodation for the duration of your stay. We live in a communal house with 4-6 bunk beds in each room. Volunteers are responsible for all other expenses, including travel to and from the Philippines as well as transportation to our base.
We do not have wifi so we recommend getting a local SIM card before arriving to the program.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje
Living and working in the Philippines provides a rich cultural exchange. A local community is incredibly welcoming and is always wanting to teach you about their culture and learn from you. On top of a unique cultural experience, you will also gain new construction knowledge because we will teach you everything you need to know to finish specific tasks. So do not worry about not having previous construction experience.

Our accommodation is communal living on a base with several rooms. Each room can accommodate around 4-6 people. You can also bring a personal tent for which we will provide you with some bedding.
We are in Hinunangan region, living closely with the local community.

We recommend flying to Tacloban and then taking a bus to Hinunangan, where our base is located. The bus journey to our base can take about 3-4 hours. The town center of Hinunangan is only a few kilometers away from our base - these are often visited by volunteers during the afternoons or weekend as there are cafes, restaurants, hotels and other amenities (e.g. ATM).
