It was so lovely to be in this hostel in Tenerife for two months. I really enjoyed the island sporty lifestyle. We (while I was there we were three volunteers) kept the hostel very clean and tidy and the job shifts were always clearly communicated and organized. Mateo and Jade are nice and kind people. Highlights: hostel dinners🍕 in the rooftop and surf lessons (more or less) once a week. A big hug to Mateo and Jade.

I planned to stay for two weeks but ended up staying for a month and a half because this experience was absolutely amazing! 🌟 Working with Ben was fun, positive, and deeply inspiring. He and his family are incredibly welcoming, inclusive, and fun to be around💛 The eco-building project is truly ambitious and genuine, and I learned so much about sustainable construction during my time here🛠️ The ecovillage itself is beautiful, surrounded by a stunning forest full of wildlife🌲🦜 Just a quick heads-up for future workawayers: the local cockatoos will definitely act as your alarm clock ! 😂 Spoiler: start training your pull-ups before you arrive, you're going to need it!😉 I highly recommend volunteering here to anyone looking for a meaningful and organic experiences. The time with Sadie and Jade was a really happy time, they fitted from the beginning in the group with two other workawayers. As they both are young, interesting and interested women, we were never short of subjects to discuss. Much comparisons were made between the countries we live in and it was fun to share them over meals we cooked together. Both worked in the garden and around the house, and were always happy to help - lots of tasks and some serious window cleaning were done and we had to be flexible when the sun came out, it was quite cold and sometimes rainy and they adapted their schedules. I recommend the two friends who really got on very well and often did the tasks together - with a smile!

Thank you very much, Dani, for the time you spent with us and for helping us. Daniela is very helpful and communication went really well. Daniela helped us a lot in the garden and played nicely with the kids. Thanks for the good conversations. Now we have to solve the date puzzle every morning on our own, unfortunately without much success.

I had the absolute best time spending a week with Mark. His home was beautiful, tucked away in a beautiful village and the bedroom was perfect, plenty room and a nice decor. Mark cooked a hearty meal every night, and as someone who likes to eat a lot, I was never left hungry. I spent the week helping Mark with his boat which I really enjoyed, and he even took me out for a BBQ where we spent 4 hours on the water, with great food and lovely swimming. This was my first workaway, and I had the best time, and will definitely keep in touch with Mark.

Alasdair was a first time Workawayer, and one could not ask for a nicer and easy-to-interact with person. It was great having him in my home as well as all his very helpful work on my projects. Relatively new to DIY skills, Alasdair still kept up with me on all items we tackled, and even suggested solutions to problems I had not thought of. On the BBQ boat he laid down non-slip deck tape in a very orderly fashion after hand cleaning the deck. In the boat yard he finished the painting of the fishing boat, painted items on the sailboat, and varnished the spar. At home he helped greatly with fixing the plank floor in the kitchen, and always did a decent job with cleanup after meals. Alasdair enjoys conversation and is very friendly. He is also very sportive, and walked and climbed many of the local hiking trails. I highly recommend him.

During these spring days I had a great experience of working with Krista and Vivi. They were both highly motivated in helping me with cleaning out the territory and being very helpful in keeping household. They took care of cat and give my kids great time of language exchange. Thank you, guys, have a great journey

Raimon is one of the most kind and interesting people I have ever met! He is so welcoming and immediately makes you feel like part of the family. I stayed with him and a few other workawayers for almost two weeks and my only regret is not staying longer. The area is perfect if you enjoy nature and the outdoors, with hiking trails very close by. Raimon knows the mountains very well and is happy to offer tips and advice on where to go and what to do in the area. He’s incredibly generous and always willing to help. Thanks again for an amazing experience Raimon! I will be back! :)

Staying with Alessandro and Manon (and Brioche) for 8 days. Their farm is located in the perfect spot for exploring the outdoors. There are trails *from their property* that lead to a system of great trails in the area. The night sky is filled with the most stars we've ever seen, definitely look up at night. Schedule was great. It gave us free time to explore the area and rest. We had breaks and afternoons off! They also let us take 2 days off during the 7day week. The accomodations were lovely. The little cabin was private and well insolated. There is a heater. There is an outdoor shower and toilet that were suitable for the whole time we were there. A highlight for us was spending meals with Alessandro and Manon. We talked with Manon about the importance of food and eating together in her life and culture, which made sharing meals extra special. It's optional, but we would definitely recommend getting to know these hosts over food - you might hear some fun stories 😉. We were lucky to contribute to all areas of their project. We did some carpentry, restoration, planting, forest maintenance, and harvesting. Alessandro is knowledgeable and loves to share if you're interested in permaculture or sustainable food. They taught us skills and techniques for all these activities. We felt safe the whole time and learned! Even though we literally picked cherries, the cherry on top is Brioche, the most affectionate companion ever! We would definitely recommend this host and would love to come back for longer!

Martin is a really helpful chap and is keen to be participate in family life. He's also a great cook which is a bonus. He sees household jobs that need to be done and just does them which is also a great quality to have. He's responsible, reliable and has great energy and is methodical too. Welcome back anytime. Thanks for coming to stay!

I had an incredible time volunteering in Unawatuna. From the moment I arrived, Lucky made me feel welcome and part of the hostel family. He is a friendly, respectful, and supportive host who genuinely cares about both the guests and the volunteers. The tasks were clear, fair, and exactly as described, making the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. What made this Workaway truly special was the atmosphere at the hostel. I met amazing people from all over the world, and the relationships I built with the other volunteers are memories I will always cherish. We worked together, explored the area, shared meals, and had so many great moments that made my stay unforgettable. The balance between work and free time was excellent, giving me the opportunity to discover beautiful Unawatuna and experience Sri Lankan culture while contributing to the hostel. The work environment was positive, relaxed, and well organized. I am grateful to Lucky and everyone at the hostel for such a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this place to any volunteer looking for a meaningful Workaway experience, great people, and an unforgettable stay in Sri Lanka. Thank you for everything, and I hope our paths cross again in the future!

I had a great experience, teaching English at a local school (school 1 in the profile) near to Phayao for about one week! Everyone went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, the children are very cute and eager to learn (although fun of course, is the most important thing). I accompanied a different teacher each day and got to meet children from kindergarden to the age of 12 (: If you join the project, make sure you visit Hani at the community centre too! The communication and organization with him was great! It was very convenient for me to use the scooter, otherwise I imagine it is a bit hard to get around!

Felix is a doer! He is so up for anything. He is a problem solver. He is a really great guy and we would like to have him here full time. Is there nothing you cannot do Felix.

We really enjoyed having Marie on the project for two months. She worked incredibly hard on site every single day and was always willing to jump in and help with anything that needed doing. She brought a really positive energy to the team and quickly became a great example for other volunteers. No matter how tough or busy things got, she never complained and always kept a good attitude. She was easy to live with, respectful, and just a genuinely lovely person to be around. We’re very grateful for all her help and would happily have her back anytime. Any host would be lucky to have her.

We had a beautiful experience with Anouk and Hugo. They are reliable and independent hard workers. They took care of the garden and our animals with love. Any task we gave them, has been reached great fully. They also are funny and smiling people, really nice to have around and co-live with. When they left, they cleaned carefully the accommodation and everything was tidy. Anouk also is a great chef and she always cooked great meals to Claudio while I (Elisa) was away. We have been really lucky to have them here and we highly recommend to everyone. Thank you for everything guys, we wish you the best and an amazing trip

This place became one of the places I think of when I want to imagine a peaceful place. Since the first day Ladina and Sté received me with the arms open and made me feel like one more of the family. The place is very beautiful and you can enjoy a lot the nature in the surroundings. The tasks were pretty simple and easy. Basically I was taking care of the other family memebers: Ley, Grisha and the 3 chickens. Aside from that I was keeping the house in place, so maintaining the garden and inside the house clean. The days there passed so fast, even though I stay 2 weeks longer than agreed at first! When Sté and Ladina were around they took me to visit some places, give me many recomendations, help me improve my French and we played many board games. You can imagine... only good vibes! This place allowed to find myself again since you may be a lot of time on your own in such a quiet atmosphere. Not much more to say that you already know Sté and Ladina, thank you very much for everything, the experience was very enriching 🥰🩷

Pat and John are the most lovely, badass and inspiring people living their off-grid dream. I had the privilege of spending some time with them on their beautiful and secluded land. it's an experience of a lifetime and one that I'd always remember. The day-to-day was always active with hands-on tasks and experiences. I spent time chopping firewood (after Pat and John took three trees down with the excavator); tending to the vegetable garden; helping out with fencing for the sheep paddock; spraying weeds and watering etc. During the evening we would have dinner together, watch the beautiful sunset while listening to the birds, share a drink and later gaze into the Milky Way. Coming from a corporate and big-city background, seeing and experiencing an active life off-grid with Pat and John was truly refreshing. I felt at home and was treated like a family member. We became good friends and been staying in touch ever since.

Sonia came to stay for a month but weren’t we happy that she stayed for another too, from the barren early spring – and even a day of snow – into the lush summer and a heat wave! In addition to the daily care of the animals, Sonia undertook many different tasks at the farm, from raking the yard and heroically mocking the horse paddock after winter (huge work!) to cleaning inside the house and preparing some delicious meals, among other things. She is super organizer, and the tack room in the stables totally transformed its appearance in her hands. She performed all the tasks in a very responsible and careful way. Sonia really cares for the welfare of the animals and knows her way around them– she even used some of her effective homeopathic skills while taking care of the horses, sheep and our dog. It is fair to say that Sonia got the full package of farm life with happy and not-so-happy events, and she provided valuable assistance in lambing too. Sonia is a lovely, interesting, smart and humorous person, who is curious for life and has no prejudices trying out new things. In her company one will never get bored! She is very social and bubbling on the one hand but also needs her dose of space and calm on the other. We shared many fun and cozy moments over dinners, on horse rides, in sauna, at the lake, in front of the television, in the company of animals or just chatting away on the car rides. It was a real pleasure to get to know Sonia – we wish her all the best things in her life until we’ll meet again!

These two quiet, gentle women were delightful company, helpful around the house and willing to try things they hadn't done before. We spent some time sight-seeing in the Southern Highlands and NSW South Coast together, which I would not have done without them. I was most pleased and grateful to complete a project to help store my big jigsaw puzzle collection. We constructed shelves from cement blocks and planks of pine wood from the hardware store. Their youthful strength and good humour saw the job done in no time.

Paula, Dani e India sono una famiglia davvero gentile, premurosa e disponibile ! Fin dal primo giorno ci hanno invitati ad comportarci come fosse casa nostra, hanno una casa molto grande piena di lavori da realizzare ! Quindi hai anche la possibilità di scegliere ciò che fa per te :) Al pomeriggio ci siamo rilassati nella loro piscina e nel loro enorme giardino verde 🌿 Abbiamo potuto parcheggiare il camper giusto davanti alla casa e avevamo anche la possibilità di riempirci l’acqua molto facilmente La città dispone di supermercati , farmacia e di molti bar, la comunità è abbastanza grande Ci hanno aiutati a trovare posti dove andare a farci il bagno e tanto altro! Sarà un vero piacere vivere con loro ! E speriamo di rincontrarli presto!
