Audra was hardworking and responsible finishing every task.Cleaning to a high standard with a willing spirit and doing clothing repairs. She was good at checking " is this what you want" if there was ambiguity. Getting in to the agreed early start routine was effortless. Alot of tasks got accomplished and i was very satisfied and grateful at the end of her weeks stay. She was knowledgeable and very patient in helping me with getting stuff done and ordering via the computer - remaining calm and encouraging thru the usual digital malfunctioning. Emotionally and communicatively skilled. I would welcome her back :)

We spent over 5 weeks at Juliens beautiful home. First with him, in the last weeks, he trusted us to take care of his home and his animals alone. We really enjoyed the time together, had nice conversations and learned lots of new things, for example broadened our recipe repertoire. Our main tasks were painting, cleaning the cocoa exploitation and assisting him on the roof. Julien explains the tasks really well and detailed and wishes for strong and fast workers. Thank you Julien for welcoming us spontaneously, we appreciate it and enjoyed the shared time.

Elea, You were wonderful.... we miss you!. it was like having a new daughter here!. She fit in completely. Every task she took to heart to go above and beyond what was expected. Elea is an absolutely wonderful gal . She entered in to the chores like the critters were her own. Our heifer aborted which brought many issues we had to deal with and Elea was right there, beyond the expected time in her chores, concerned and looking for ways to help. She always joined in with community happenings . We just cannot say enough at what a pleasure it was to have her here. We pray for your future Elea, the Lord will direct you to do amazing things in your future. ! THANK YOU again !

I had an amazing experience in Iquitos. The first two days, I was really out of my comfort zone, mainly because my Spanish level was not good enough. Iquitos is also a really big and busy city, so you have to be prepared for that. But the family is so nice and so generous that you quickly forget everything else. The mum, Bertha, is just one of a kind : she is so kind to everyone, and she is always taking care of you, checking that you are doing well and feeling well. She is truly the best. She is also preparing the best breakfast. Everyone else is also amazing, really inclusive and communicative. The family was always offering us to join in their daily life activities and I really felt included. About the school, some of the kids are not the easiest to manage, but they are so cute and happy and cariñosos with the volunteers. You can really feel like you are making a difference by helping them. I really got attached to these kids. As the classes are in Spanish and that the family mainly speaks only Spanish, I really recommend to have a good level of Spanish for this adventure. If you are looking to get out of your confort zone, improve your Spanish and help children that really need it while living with an amazing family and enjoying the péruvien way of life, I strongly recommend this volunteering! Thanks again to the family for the amazing time 🙏It is for sure an experience that I will never forget and the family will always be in my heart !

I had an incredible time helping Inken get her apartment ready for the summer! I got to spend 2 weeks putting my renovation, repair and organisation skills to good use! I was joined by my partner (see seperate review from our couples account) and another workawayer in our second week so we got a lot accomplished in the time we were there! It was exciting to see all the progress we made and the Airbnb on our last day ready to welcome guests. The apartment I stayed in was lovely and Aljezur is beautiful. Inken was a lovely host! She had great recommendations for us during our stay. We also got to share some lovely meals together. Inken only asked for 3 hours a day and was happy for us to keep track of our hours and plan the week and modify the schedule to our preference. I felt very welcomed and appreciated from the start. I really enjoyed hearing Inken’s stories and getting to know her more throughout my stay. This Workaway experience was fantastic. I would highly recommend it when Inken needs help in the future!

Mia and Noel are amazing people, ready to share and happy to chat. Hugo is an adorable boy, so cute and enthusiastic for everything, he enjoys to be pet, scratches and take out for beautiful walks or runs after cats. He needs very basic care and you really enjoy your time with him. The walk to Kells Priory is astonishing, the village's pub is so cozy and the entire village, as the accomodation, are. Mia and Noel are such amazing hosts! The next store is not that close, but there are many buses to Kilkenny and both Mia and Noel were so kind to take me to town with them, so I've never been out of something. Everything is highly recommended!

Arne and Riet are an amazing couple and it was a pleasure to host them. With their hard-working help we were able to significantly advance several projects, involving construction and farming. Their thoughtfulness and deep care towards the people, the project and the work, helped made everything flow in a beautiful way during the time they stayed with us. Any project would be lucky to host them. The doors of ours will always be open for them.

I hosted Marnie for about two weeks and we had a great time together. She took care of the things that needed to be done and there’s nothing I can complain about. Marnie was friendly, reliable and willing to support wherever needed. Her positive attitude contributed to a great atmosphere for both guest and staff. She’s welcome to come back anytime!

Audrey stayed with us in the month of May, she helped us out with cleaning and general maintenance of the hostel. She was proactive, and would go above and beyond without being asked. She's independent, she has her own vehicle which made things easier for her, this also meant she could bring others on adventures - needless to say that she got on quite well with everybody. We would definitely recommend Audrey to any future hosts

Our first-ever Workaway experience in France was everything we could have hoped for and more. We had an amazing time, learned so much, and felt genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. A special thank you to Jane, whose kindness, generosity, and incredible knowledge of the local area made our stay truly memorable. Her passion for the history, culture, and hidden gems of the region added so much to our experience and helped us appreciate the area in a way we never could have on our own. We leave with wonderful memories, new friendships, and a deep appreciation for the Workaway community. Thank you, Jane, for making our first Workaway such a positive and unforgettable experience!

Tobi is a beautiful human being! He stayed with us for 10 days and it was an absolute pleasure to have him. He is generous with his time and presence, mindful, cares for details, curious and very easy to live with. We had a few projects in mind for him to help us but we had an unexpected visit from the construction guy and finally we could tear down a wall we wanted to take out for many months...so most of the first week was focused on that. We all learned together and he was stoked with all the tasks we did and proposed him to do. He also helped us finish our last bed of the garden, transplant some veggies there, clean the chicken house, cut the grass/bush and prepare a future green filter/garden next to the chicken house. So yes, plans changed and he just adapted to every new turn of events with a big smile. We had deep conversations and also made jokes about mundane things... very easy going! We also practiced yoga together in the city and he joined Pol for an openning of a friend's new business and got along with Pol's friends easily :) It was a blessing having him with us. Thank you Tobi for being how and how you are!!!

We really enjoyed our time at Inken’s place helping her get the downstairs Airbnb apartment ready for the last 2 weeks. It was fun putting our renovation and repair skills to good use. The apartment we stayed in was lovely and Aljezur is beautiful. The outdoor deck and pool were a highlight for us! It’s also only a 30 minute drive to Lagos. Inken is a warm and kind-hearted person. It was really nice to be around her calm and positive energy! We enjoyed the opportunity to get to know her more throughout our stay. Having a hire car was very handy so we could explore. Walking to the shops and the beach is doable but not super practical, so we’d definitely recommend having a car. It was cheap to hire a car from Lisbon but Lagos is also an option for a little more. Before we left, we got to share a lovely dinner with Inken and another Workawayer. We also enjoyed the opportunity to cook a meal together during our stay. We also loved having Inken’s fur babies around. We would come back in a heartbeat and wish Inken all the very best!

I had a wonderful time at the cottage. For a few hours per day I helped out in the garden. Emilie and her cat Doolin were fantastic hosts and great company. We shared lovely meals and interesting conversations together. All in all, I felt very welcome, safe and comfortable at the cottage.

We spent a month with Rachel, Chris, Elliot, and Oliver and their wonderful animals. Of their menagerie Ivory the chicken, Shadow the three-legged dog, Joey the cat, and Jaque the horse became close companions of ours. They made it very hard to say goodbye. Home for the month was a renovated pigeoneer — one of those charming old stone towers you see dotting the French countryside — and it was the perfect little base for everything that followed. The work was varied and satisfying: building a compost bin and a new muck heap, stable shelving, hauling gravel for the driveway, repointing the old farmhouse wall, pruning trees, and helping out with the horses and chickens. Nothing felt overwhelming — just good honest outdoor work with a sense of real contribution at the end of each day. The area is stunning. Historic villages and châteaux practically around every corner. Bring a car if you can — it opens everything up and makes exploration so easy on days off. Rachel is warm and genuinely great to work alongside. Her boys were so polite and helpful and Chris was a great conversationalist. If you’re looking to slow down, get your hands dirty, connect with animals, and soak up the French countryside without any of the noise — this is your place. I had such a wonderful time with this family, and honestly, it was a truly special experience. They are without a doubt some of the kindest, happiest, and most genuine people I have ever met. Valeria is an amazing mother, Ezio is a wonderful person, and Elia… oh, he is simply the sweetest, gentlest little boy you could ever imagine 🥰 They made me feel at home from the very first day. Even though I only spent a short time with them, I already felt like part of the family, and I’m sure this is only the beginning of our friendship. The vegan food was always delicious, and every day was filled with warmth, kindness, and positive energy. Besides being truly wonderful people, Ezio and Valeria have created a beautiful home surrounded by nature and full of love. Their values, outlook on life, and way of living are inspiring and deserve great respect. I genuinely felt welcomed and cared for throughout my stay. They are open-minded, thoughtful, warm-hearted, and incredibly generous people. Thank you, guys, for our trip to the adventure park, for the lovely evening with your friends, and for all the beautiful moments we shared together. I’m leaving with wonderful memories and I truly hope to see you again very soon 💛

they were a Lovely couple.. A big help, not only in the garden, but also they showed off the skills using tools to extend the cabin/accommodation. They are always polite and friendly and keen to get on with things. both friendly and keen . If you want a real authentic experience of Bedouin life in Petra this is an amazing place to go! Every day we had a delicious breakfast at Ghassab’s sister’s house and then went into the silent hills of Petra either with the sheep or goats. Herding the sheep is more chill/easy (just a couple hours in the morning and afternoon to take them up the hill and back) and herding the goats is better for people who like hiking for the whole day and are confident on rocky/steep terrain. You also take a lot of breaks and sit in the silent beautiful environment while the goats eat. It can be hard to understand instructions sometimes but it’s fine, Norah is an incredible woman and you will have a real experience not a tourist one! I even saw Norah deliver a baby goat and I carried him home. I felt welcomed straight away by Ghassab and very comfortable as a solo woman - completely disagree with the previous person’s feedback here. The volunteer house is really nice and comfortable and it was brilliant sharing the experience with other volunteers. In the evening we returned for a delicious dinner. I would highly recommend this experience ⭐️

No tengo más que palabras bonitas hacia Saúl. He tenido el placer de tenerlo en casa varias semanas en dos períodos distintos (y espero que vengan más), y realmente ha sido una gran experiencia coincidir con él. Es una persona muy responsable a pesar de su juventud. Hizo sus tareas (y más) a la perfección, dejando el huerto bien preparado para siembra así como ha dejado el bosque como un jardín de lo bien cortado y mantenido que está. Ha hecho un gran trabajo físico exterior a parte de colaborar en el dia dia de la casa y cuidar a los distintos animales de una forma muy ejemplar. Hemos compartido muchos juegos de mesa (poker sobre todo, aunque muchos otros más, que por cierto, se le dan muy bien), charlas, risas, comidas y muchos otros momentos que hemos pasado en casa. Llego un voluntario y se quedo un amigo. Un autentico placer, y hasta luego, porque nos volvemos a ver seguro.
