We are situated in the beautiful central part of B.C. between the rockies and the Caribou mountains.
it is a small Valley called the Robson Valley Trench.
We farm Bison, grain & hay. We have horses mainly for pleasure, 1-2 foals / year and a very large garden to sustain us for the year. We grow as naturally as we can. Not certified organic.
We are in the Senior category and can really use help with garden, animals, birds, organizing, freeze drying and finishing up a huge barn project. [ that will take years. ]
2 foals expected the spring of 2024.
Our daughter, 33, [ has focus, sight, energy and memory challenges from Chemo damage ] She's very sweet and may or may not be here. She volunteers at a children's camp.
Note: we do not have an ID verification green stamp and checkmark on our site because we do not agree to give out our passport information. Just looking at the reviews from others should give lots of verification that we truly care about people.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Our tasks vary from year to year so it's difficult to say. The large greenhouse is always a learning curve for us. Ducks are always at different stages of development. We have a short haying season in July that is intense when it happens. The Bison visit very near the doorstep of the cabin each morning. The valley is as beautiful as the people are rich in character. There is always opportunity to get up in the alpine. Snow or summer.
Many who've come want to return.Ayuda
We have lots of building upkeep, painting
Trecks to the mountains is our reward to ourselves for hard work done- You're welcome to come and welcome to attend the many social events in town. .
Helping with horses is welcomed but seen as a pleasure, not as part of the exchange agreement. And yes, riding horses is welcome also. Just know that doing horse help is directly a thank you for the use of the horses; not a part of the workaway deal. That can be fencing, moving manure, brushing, feeding . IF you have credentials to training and handling horses then some of your helping time can be with horses.Idiomas hablados

Alojamiento
Log Cabins give you your own space. One has electricity. Both have wood heat & need water packed . one has an Outhouse.
The barn now has a heated bathroom with large shower and kitchen for you to cook your meals. We eat VERY simple so only do a meal together at most once per week. Which is often at some event , or at friends.
If you like to join us for town potluck meals it's appreciated that you help with the preparation of that sort of meal.Algo más...
Via Rail runs through our town - and can be a fun way of transport from PG or Edmonton. Jasper is just 1 1/2 hr. away, with lots of tourist sites and activities. Camp out or book a Hostel.
It's about 4 hours of train travel from Ontario to McBride. Truly a lovely way to travel.
We try to plan the weeks of work to coincide with the weather for the activities you plan.
There is a bus that comes from Prince George if you fly into P.G.
We have beautiful views of our valley from both the rockies and Caribou ranges. The Ancient Cedar Forest, winding Fraser River, [ a canoeing adventure ] cabins in the mountains and rich blend of elk, deer, moose, bear, grizzlies, raptors, wolves, coyotes, wolverines, pikas make up a valley worth experiencing. :)Un poco más de información

That really depends, our animals have priority . No pets allowed in the accommodation areas due to potential allergies of others. They must be o.k. to sleep in your vehicle or tied up outside. If the pet even looks to be interested in chasing a cat ,deer, bird or bison they will be on a chain the rest of their time here. No grace on that part sorry. We had a friend's well behaved dog here, that suddenly decided to chase the chickens. That was all it took for our pup to learn to do so. Which led to killing, - as a result we had to re home her. :(
