¡Muchísimas gracias por esta maravillosa semana en Tenjo! Emma y yo disfrutamos muchísimo nuestra estadía con su familia. Descubrimos un lugar tranquilo y hermoso, donde comimos delicioso, descansamos muy bien y nos sentimos acogidas con muchísimo cariño. Hicieron que esta experiencia fuera realmente especial. Un agradecimiento muy especial para Juan Camilo, con quien nos reímos muchísimo. Eres una persona increíble, divertida y muy querida. ¡Y la próxima vez te gano en Monopoly! 😉 — Lélé También queremos agradecer de todo corazón a Don Alirio por su amabilidad y por todo lo que nos enseñó sobre los caballos. Fue un verdadero placer aprender con usted. Y una mención especial para Ginevra y Aston, los dos perros más cariñosos del mundo. 🐶❤️ Ya los extrañamos. Nuestro único pequeño arrepentimiento es no haber tenido la oportunidad de probar la cocina de la Mamá, pero esperamos que sea para la próxima. Entre los caballos, la jardinería, la pintura, las caminatas, las cabalgatas y las partidas de Monopoly, vivimos una semana llena de momentos inolvidables. I had a wonderful experience in Daintree. The beautiful nature made this place very special, and the hosts were kind and welcoming. It was also great to meet and spend time with the other people staying there. Even though my English wasn’t very good, they were patient and helped me improve it. Alex’s wife’s cooking was amazing. I really enjoyed all the meals she prepared. I highly recommend this place.

Katie and Konrad are fantastic hosts! My experience with them will be hard to top! Having completed many Workaways themselves, they bring a unique understanding to hosting, which made this opportunity feel extra special. From the very beginning, I felt incredibly welcomed, cared for, and appreciated. I loved hearing about their travel adventures and learning from their experiences. They are both incredibly knowledgeable and have helped me tremendously with my own travel plans. I really enjoyed helping them while also learning new skills along the way. Having exposure to both German and Catalan in the home was such a unique and enriching experience as well. Thank you both for your kindness and generosity. I couldn’t have asked for a better Workaway experience and would highly recommend Katie and Konrads’ Workaway opportunity.

We enjoyed hosting Pénélope and Antoine for 4 weeks. They are open and pleasant. They work well together and have fun with their everyday tasks. Antoine has an incredible amount of energy and Pénélope helped a lot with computer technical stuff. They participated in our spiritual ceremonies and sharing circles and it was a pleasure to see them grow emotionally and spiritually. I feel overall they always had the best of intentions and always did their best. We wish them well on their journey.

It was a pleasure having Charlotte stay with us. Although her stay was short, we would have loved to have had her with us for much longer. Charlotte fitted in so well with everyone in our family. She was wonderful with the children and always willing to help around the house. She has a calm and peaceful presence, and her lovely personality made her a joy to be around. She put great effort into helping with Andre’s party, and we really appreciated all her help. One thing we especially valued was how attentive she was to the children’s wellbeing. If she noticed anything concerning that we may have missed, she kindly brought it to our attention to ensure the children’s health and safety were always looked after. We truly appreciated her honesty and thoughtfulness. Charlotte would be a wonderful addition to any host family. She approaches every task with willingness and care, and we highly recommend her.

Their presence was truly appreciated. Despite the short time they spent with us, they integrated very easily into the workaway team. They showed a great enthusiasm, were flexible and happy to take on any task. Their positive attitude and readiness to serve made them a pleasure to have around. We are grateful for their contribution.

We feel incredibly lucky that Azura chose to stay with us. From the very beginning, communication was effortless, and that ease continued throughout her entire stay. She is a genuinely wonderful person to have around and quickly became a valued part of our home. Azura is proactive and hardworking. She takes great care in everything she does. She helped us in so many different ways: preparing for our move by carefully packing our belongings, light maintenance, creative projects, preparing delicious meals, etc. Whatever she was doing, she was always organised and thorough. One of the things we appreciated most was how tidy and considerate she was. She kept shared spaces immaculate, was always willing to help, and consistently went above and beyond without needing to be asked. Hosting her felt effortless. We would also like to give a special mention to how wonderful she was with our baby. He absolutely adored her and would often seek her out just for a smile or a cuddle. In her free time, she would happily play with him or read him stories, and it was clear how naturally caring and kind she is. We weren't looking for childcare, but if we had been, we would have trusted her completely. Beyond all of her practical help, Azura was simply a joy to spend time with. She is warm, thoughtful, curious, and brought so much positivity to our household. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her and sharing experiences together. We cannot recommend Azura highly enough. Any future host would be incredibly lucky to welcome her into their home. She truly embodies everything we love about the Workaway experience and will always be welcome back with us. More than a workawayer, she became our friend, one we hope to stay in touch with for many years to come.

I spent 2 and a half weeks here and had a wonderful time. Anastisiya and Nikita are very friendly and welcoming, and I was even brought to the nearby city of Batumi for a day! The location is incredible and is right next to a stunning lake and a wonderful beach on the black sea coast. Hope to come again when the hostel is complete as a guest!

We loved staying with Scott and Alysha on their beautiful property. Their daughters are bright, kind, and an absolute pleasure to spend time with. They are the sweetest girls and very well-mannered (hi Mazie and Dezi!). Scott is hilarious, always has an entertaining story to tell, and has a strong work ethic. You will learn a lot from him and be impressed by all that he is building and nurturing. Alysha is a great listener, has many insightful things to teach, and will make you feel cared for and understood. They are great people and parents. Scott’s mom, Susanne, was staying nearby in another trailer, and she was so welcoming and generous with sharing her herb garden and inviting us for a bonfire one evening. We shared several nutritious meals with the family during our stay, including fresh eggs and chicken from their farm, veggies from the greenhouse, and honey from the beehives. We stayed in a private trailer and enjoyed the peaceful sounds of rain at night. We even had our own fire pit to enjoy. We were welcome to use the house for showers and laundry when needed. Our main tasks included building a fence, learning how to operate a skid steer, tidying up around the home and property, cooking, watching the girls, assisting with mushroom growing, and other fun learning experiences like tending to baby chicks. During our downtime, we explored the many walking trails on the land, rode an ATV, took in the fresh air, played with kittens, and were able to relax in nature. Downtown Radium is a stone’s throw away for some shopping or a visit to the hot springs. Invermere is about a 20-min drive for affordable groceries. We had just moved to Alberta without having many connections, and left Radium feeling like we made good friends. We recommend staying here, as you will learn a lot and build positive memories to reflect fondly on. We can't wait to come back and visit! Rachel and Ken

Once in a while, you'll visit a place that you know you're going to have to return to. Pikirangi is one of those places. Mark is a wonderful teacher and to say that his story is inspiring would be an understatement. It is truly special to eat, make fire and live in buildings built from the trees he planted. And the volunteer hub is a wonderful way to meet and connect with others. We even made dumplings together from scratch! Stay at Pikirangi if you can. The work will be physically challenging, but the experience will nourish your soul.

This was my first Workaway, as well as my first time solo traveling, so going into this, I was very nervous about this entire experience, but Cesar has created and environment where you feel like a member of the family the moment you arrive at the surf house. Cesar is a great host that is very friendly and caring, and is family is the same, Making your stay feel like home, rather than just another hostel. With a very light workload, it honestly felt like I wasn’t doing enough to help this amazing family. The waves here in Huanchaco are consistently good, and there was always time in the day to go out and surf. With constant day trips to Chicama available, sandboarding, and the beautiful city of Trujillo just bus ride away, there was always something fun and new to do. It was such a unique experience that I will remember for the rest of my life, The people I met and the memories I made here have set very high expectations for my next Workaway! I hope that someday my travels bring me back here!

Dear Birgitta. Staying with you and your cats was an absolute pleasure! You were an excellent host and we had a good time helping with sowing, weeding, picking up seaweed and other things as well. We enjoyed the meals you made us with vegetables, berries and salads from your garden. We are gonna miss the green soup and white bean sauce! We also enjoyed exploring the area and the midnight sun. Tom stayed with us for some wonderful weeks in may 2026. We had a blast with him! Full of energy and ready to help with whatever was needed he made our workhours not only very efficient but so fun! He was a great help with gardening, rebuilding a boatlanding, and fixing up the cabin. His sense of humor is really something else. And new amazing skills popped up from day to day while he showed what a great teamplayer he is. He even became the main actor in an amazing movie that the workawayers spontanously shot here at our place during some super fun evenings. But also serious talks, chessgames, excellent help in the kitchen and so much more. The campfires with Tom, enjoying music or making music with him and the other helpers was a real pleasure. Make sure you invite Tom to your place!

Ein großes Dankeschön an Steve und alle die großartigen anderen Gäste. Meine Zeit bei Steve und den Kindern verbrachte ich im Februar und März 2026. Steve ist ein seriöser, sehr großzügiger und meist ein einfühlsamer Gastgeber. Die beste Hilfe für einen Vater mit drei Kindern / Jugendlichen ist, sehr achtsam mit den Kindern umzugehen, obwohl es für nicht englisch Muttersprachler sehr schwer ist, Zugang zu den Kindern zu bekommen. Wenn du nicht bereit bist sehr viel Zeit in die Verbindung zu seinen Kindern zu investieren, solltest du woanders hin gehen. Du kannst das Gefühl bekommen, weit mehr als 5 Stunden täglich eingeplant zu sein. Willst du Sport machen, biete es auch den Kindern an, willst du Musizieren biete es auch den Kindern an. Willst du renovieren kannst du es hier. Willst du Autos reparieren, kannst du es hier machen. Willst du in deiner Freizeit nicht zum Strand sondern lesen, es gibt einen großen Fundus an Büchern im Haus. Du wirst ausreichend Nahrungsmittel, viele Küchenmaschinen, Waschmaschine und Trockner vorfinden. Es existieren straffe Zeitpläne, die einerseits sehr viel Priorität haben und andererseits gab es oft spontan Änderungen durch ihn selbst, was verwirrend sein kann. Du wirst erfahren, dass es eine Zeitplanung im Minutentakt gibt, die den Mahlzeiten einen seltsamen Stressfaktor anheftet. Die Regeln im Haus sollen erst einmal respektiert werden, du wirst sie nicht von Anfang an verstehen. Es wird dich weit mehr als 5 Stunden am Tag kosten, hier zu leben. Willst du frisches gutes Essen, solltest du täglich extra Zeit einplanen, um dieses zuzubereiten. Du kannst das Gefühl haben, für dich selbst nicht genug Zeit zu haben. Steve ist sehr engagiert und versucht fast täglich seine Gäste zu sicheren Stränden zu begleiten. Er besitzt genügend eigene Surfbretter, du wirst keines mieten müssen. Das ist ein sehr großer Vorteil. Er stellt dir fast täglich eine große Menge an Texten, links und websites zur Verfügung, die deine Freizeit ausfüllen können. Teils waren Steves Aussagen widersprüchlich und differieren von Tag zu Tag. Oft kam es zu ermüdenden Monolagen bei der Tagesplanung und dadurch kann möglicherweise deine Meinung und Absicht verändert werden. Steves Denkweise liegt weit über dem Horizont der meisten Menschen die hier zusammenkommen und das kann zu Mißverständnissen führen. Für mental starke junge Menschen ist es aber auch eine große Chance. Stelle ihm die richtigen Fragen und du kannst an seinem großen Erfahrungsschatz und Wissen teilhaben. Es gibt zugleich die Möglichkeit für nicht so starke Charaktere, in den Einfluss von seinen Gedanken zu kommen und das sind dann nicht mehr deine eigenen Gedanken. Steve denkt wie ein Schachspieler immer mehrere Züge voraus, wer das nicht gewöhnt ist, kann das leicht als übergriffig empfinden. Das Haus ist groß, mit 14 Bewohnern war meiner Meinung nach ein Höchstmaß erreicht. Das Haus ist hellhörig und erfordert viel Rücksichtnahme. Die Lage ist wirklich sehr isoliert und für Bewegung liebende Menschen eher untypisch. Es ist eben nicht einfach möglich spazieren zu gehen oder Rad zu fahren. Du kannst nicht einfach rausgehen und einen Kaffee trinken gehen oder Menschen treffen. Steve gibt im Vorfeld so viele gute detaillierte Informationen, lest sorgfältig diese umfassenden Informationen, bevor ihr eure Entscheidung trefft. Willst du flexibel sein, solltest du über ein Mietauto verfügen.

I had the pleasure of hosting this wonderful couple, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are mature, responsible, and genuinely willing to help—everything a Workaway host could hope for. They approached every task with competence and care, whether working on artistic projects or small building jobs. Always smiling and positive, they brought a lovely energy to the house and were truly a pleasure to have around. I would warmly recommend them to any host looking for reliable, capable, and kind hearted spirits!

I had a very good time doing workaway with this lovely family! The property is beautiful, I was able to park my van at a peaceful and quiet spot with an amazing view. Many times I walked with my dog to the river to cool down after work. The work is very doable, fun and diverse. I helped with picking the olives (hard, but fun and rewarding work!), cooking, building a fence for the chickens (who'd always found their way out), gardening and building a rocket mass stove. Oh, and I also loved to pick all the basil on my last day, what a bummer that I wasn't there to make and try the fresh pesto with it...! I mostly worked a couple of hours in the morning and a little bit after lunch. But Laurens and Evelien are very relaxed about the working schedule. You can always talk about what schedule or jobs you prefer :) The place is very alive, with animals but also with people: other lovely volunteers, the (very cute) kids of the little school and friendly teachers and parents walking around.It's never boring! Almost everyday we had a great lunch together and sometimes also dinner. I was always free to take whatever I needed from the kitchen and the garden which is very nice :) Thanks guys🙏😊 we will meet again for sure!

Mihai was a very skilled and responsable guest with our family for about two months in 2025. He's polite, easy to communicate with and very handy around the house. We moved snow, built a brick wall, did renovation and garden work. We also completed the insulation of the basement in our 100 year old house with good help from Mihai. He's also very good with bikes and fixed up some of our bikes and trailers so they are as good as new. If you get a request it's highly adviced to accept!!

Ryan should eagerness to help and assist from the moment he arrived. He was flexible in his working chores and also timings. He has very relaxed and friendly Style but at the same time was capable of assisting with getting significant projects ticked off the list. He was also great fun with the children and they very much enjoyed his company. He will be welcome back here anytime he chooses and any host would be lucky to have him and his great sense of humour!
