Greetings,
We are a quiet, friendly Guesthouse, directly on the beach in Santa Marianita, 20 minutes south of Manta, with happy cats and dogs.
Santa Marianita beach is long, sandy and safe to walk day or night at your own discretion. This is not a party beach and is known for its kitesurfing and expat retirement community
We are seeking older mature, friendly, low-drama travelers, with good morals and drug-free volunteers who have construction skills, (painters both house and canvas) excellent cleaners, love animals and will help care and maintain them.
Our volunteer rooms are shared with a maximum of 2 people and each room has its own bathroom including hot water. The kitchen is shared and fully equipped. We also provide a laundry service for our volunteers. There is wifi throughout the property.
Sometimes we cook together, and sometimes friends of the community share food with us, otherwise, you mostly cook for yourself.
The shifts are 5 hours a day, either from 7 am to 12 pm or 12 pm to 5 pm, 5 days per week with two days each week off to explore and enjoy this wonderful area in Ecuador. Our minimum stay is 3 weeks.

We are in a small active fishing village where you will have endless opportunities to mingle and help the locals if you so desire. There is an elementary school that desires help. The choice is yours. In addition we have 2 professional kite schools for anyone interested in learning kite surfing.

- Volunteer rooms are usually shared with a maximum of 2 people and each room has its own bathroom including hot water. As well as bed sheets, we provide towels and toilet paper.
- Access to a fully equipped kitchen

- Basics for breakfast (bread, eggs, milk)
- Basics for the kitchen (salt, pepper, cooking oil)
- Drinking water, organic coffee, tea
- WiFi throughout the property -

We arrived here on 13 March and stayed for four weeks. The tasks we were required to carry out mainly involved keeping the kitchen and communal areas clean on a daily basis. This also included the guest rooms after any guests had departed. We also fed and cleaned up after the 5 dogs and 20+ cats that share this placae with their human cohabitants.

I had a really good time in Santa Mariantia even though I was the youngest by far. I was able to create a painting, which was incredibly fun and allowed me to be creative. Whilst working you were always accompanied by cats and dogs, which you have to like!

My experience was excellent with both Ivana and Sasa. Sometimes when you have a couple, one of Them is a good volunteer while the other is not. Not this case. Ronke did not always work well with the other volunteers and when another workaway position came available She gave notice and left without saying goodbye or finishing her next day dinner obligation. Ronke work was average and she seemed friendly but proved unreliable for us.

I wouldn't know how to start to describe how much I liked this place. I stayed for 1,5 months and enjoyed every minute of it. The work you have to do is quite easy and fun and after your shift you have time to spend at the beach, with the dogs& cats or relajado in one of the hammocks. This is a lovely spot in the town of Santa Marianita. I stayed here for a month but could of easily stayed for longer. I had an amazing stay in Santa Marianita! I was only going to stay for two weeks but I ended up extending to stay almost a month. Breakfast is amazing and my room was great, and my favorite part was our family dinners every night! :)

Lindas guesthouse is a paradise next to the beach. Because of the familiar atmosphere I felt super comfortable. I met a lot of interesting and funny people. This was my first workaway and it was absolutely amazing. Linda went out of her way to help me get my bag back after it was lost for nearly a week. Rach and Caro we a thrill to have here. Excellent customer service and were both up for any task assigned. The customers and other volunteers will miss the, dearly as they conte on their journey. I would have them both back in a heartbeat

This is a fabulous environment to volunteer at. Working with Cheryl and the other volunteers has been an absolute blast and there is always plenty of time for the beach or the hammocks. it is enough to say that we stayed five (5!) months in this hostel. that says it all. we even overstayed our visa for two months and were illegal, just to stay there a bit longer.

We love having Sophie and Craig stay with us. They were both self motivated and no job was to big or small for them. Our guests fell in love with them both as we did as well. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for good workers. They are welcome back anytime.

We had a wonderful time with Linda, Steffi and Danny. Once you get there you don't wanna leave again. It was very motivating to see so many guests having an outstanding time. We enjoyed being part of it.
