We took care of their adorable chicken, and everything went smoothly. Karen and her family greeted us warmly and took the time to show us, in detail, what needed to be done. They also provided emergency contacts, which gave us peace of mind.

Karen & Derek are a loving, heartwarming and honest couple. We spent five days at their comfortable house, took care of the dog Remy (heartwarming and funny character) the three chickens (really funny) and the fishtank.

We are very thankful to have met the family and the trust which is given to us. The area around the house is very quiet, you can reach the waterfront in 10 minutes by foot, there are so many trails to discover!
If you have the chance to stay at Karens & Dereks house, take it, it's worth it!

Stefan and Mandy were amazing workawayers! Friendly, responsible, tidy. They managed our home (while we were away) and the tasks with ease and care. Fantastic communication, and we could tell our dog enjoyed his adventures and company with them.

We had a wonderful stay at Karen's and Derek's place and can highly recommend this workaway! Brentwood Bay is a very charming coastal town with lots of things to do during summer time. Karen's family lives in a beautiful house and workawayers have their own, very comfortable space downstairs. Karen and Derek are among the friendliest and most
… read more interesting people we have ever met. We are so grateful that we had the chance to spend a couple of days with them before they left for their holiday and were able to share travel stories while enjoying some excellent meals by chef Derek 😊
In terms of "work", we took care of the dogs Shyla and Remy, the chickens, the fish and the garden. It was easy work and we had enough time to relax and enjoy the area. We still miss our daily walks and cuddle time with the dogs.
