Our project is a 30 year old traditional style hospitality organisation running three properties in Gokarna, Karnataka, India. Having started as a 'dal rice' shack on a remote beach in 1984 when the owner was merely 10 years old is now a place where people come from different parts of India as well as the world. The name of the hotel chain is known across the world amongst travellers to the off-mainstream locations in India
We have:
1) one restaurant & hotel on Om Beach that has 40 rooms on the property in addition to a multi cuisine restaurant on the beach front.
2) One mid rung hotel on Kudle beach that has 15 rooms amidst a cover of greenery and calm.
3)One budget beach front property on Gokarna beach which has 3 cottages and a bakery at the time of creating this profile.
Having started as a single man chain and operational in that fashion for the past 30 years, our project is traditionally operated where the human link is central to the operations vis a vis the systems and process.
Staffed entirely by locals, the organisation believes in supporting the area that supports it. The owner of the properties himself is from the village of Gokarna, who understands the need and the necessity to support the locals.
We will give you a certificate verifiable with an upload on our website after completion of a mutually agreed goal if the term of stay is two months or over.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

We need multiple volunteers:
Being a traditionally run unit, help is needed in making this a professionally run unit that works with a process rather than people. Starting off with checking the room status and creating a maintenance schedule and following up with the team about tasks. Looking at factors and elements that make the room/environment a nice space for guests. Checking the readiness of rooms for guests. All this to set up a system of housekeeping and maintenance by way of creating, establishing, managing and teaching processes to the resident team which is all locals doing their best but without an organised pattern.
AND a BONUS QUALIFICATION will be
A yoga teacher who can teach the guests of the hotel and will have access to two yoga decks, one with a view of the beach and the other under a huge Banyan Tree .
****************
The project involves working closely with the local staff and a volunteer Operations Manager who will guide and help. Understanding of the mentalitites of the locals as well as the work culture is part of the process.
While no professional qualification is required for any of the three possibilities, it would be a great help if someone has some exposure to helping / working / awareness of small to medium commercial accommodation operations. Knowledge of Russian is an advantage, French or / and spanish is a bonus too.
The minimum expected stay is one month. More the better.
QUITE IMPORTANTLY, we are not looking for cheap labour. In addition to the requirement of being able to modify the workings of this traditional, single person run units, we are looking at the possibility of the local staff interacting and learning from people with different backgrounds and cultures, while letting them understand how to deal with guests from different parts of the world.Idiomas hablados

The volunteers are just what they are, volunteers. While the objective of this exercise is not a moving target, they are free to decide the schedule based on a target and its milestones that they set with the team.
Gokarna is a small spiritual beach town that is steeped in the hindu traditions. It is a very important pilgrimage for Hindus. Scenic beaches, congregations of tourists from across the world, music, sun, sand, hills and greenery.
More than 25 waterfalls around that offer small but good hikes and all encompassing a small piece of India. A three hour ride to Goa, three hours to the highest waterfall in India, Jog Falls, five hours on the stretch of the coast to Mangalore, an overnight journey to Hampi, Bangalore, Mysore, Gokarna offers a part of India unique and special.Un poco más de información
