Description

Zareah:
I'm outgoing, new experience-seeking type of gal. Sillieness is a vertue. Every day it's important to laugh, hug, and spend time upside down. I am very go-with-the-flow and will look for positives in most situations. I am a SCUBA Instructor, ceramicist, yogi, and fermentation queen. Before making my way to Australia I two years as a Marine Science educator living on a relatively remote island off the coast of California. I guided snorkels, hikes, labs, squid dissections (in costume), and kayaks! Since August I've been working as a dive instructor on the Great Barrier Reef!
Cam:
I have spent a lot of time rounding out hard skills. Most of my work experience is on maintenance teams so I've been involved in carpentry and maintenance projects start to finish. This includes painting, furniture making, plumbing, electrical, housekeeping, as well as landscaping. I want to use the things I have learned to make a difference in my immediate environment. I love to collaborate and work as a team. I've worked in remote environments before where dependability is crucial. I love music, movement and soaking in the outdoor scenery. I don't mind putting in some extra TLC into a meal with friends. Spent the last couple of months guiding white water rafting trips in Far North Queensland.

Zareah:
I majored in Psychology with minors in Ceramics, Scientific Diving, and Outdoor Leadership. For work, I've taught Marine biology, been a nanny, and spent a few years doing latte art. I have been apart of a magical artist collective/ ecstatic dance community. I've spent time tending to gardens and vineyards as well as volunteering at farmers' markets redistributing the leftover veggies. I've taught a class focused on green building techniques (Cobb) and taken a course on framing. I can cook up big yummy vegan meals with whatever is in the pantry. In addition to being a NAUI SCUBA instructor, I am also an experienced lifeguard with First Aid and Oxygen Administration. I have experience driving sit-down and standup whalers.

Cam: Most of my professional experience has involved construction or infrastructure maintenance. I've been a part of countless undertakings ranging from detailed finish carpentry to earth-moving projects. I have a few years of experience in maintaining old campuses in remote places. I am a capable backhoe and forklift operator. I am experienced in driving trucks on bumpy roads. I taught myself the basics of surfboard building and repaired damaged surfboards. Lately, I've developed leadership skills as a sailing instructor for teenagers. I love working in a team and helping people. I majored in English and Philosophy, which has given me the skills to think independently and communicate clearly. Throughout my life, I've been a part of different musical groups, and music is my favorite skill to share in.

What else ...

Zareah:
I love traditional Chinese tea and travel with a small teapot that I made! I would love to sit and chat over a cup (or many cups of tea). I do yoga and am always excited to do acro yoga. I spend lots of time barefoot (it's good for you). I seek delightful experiences.

Cam:
I love surfing and playing guitar or bass. I want to practice Spanish. I spend time skateboarding. I'm interested in learning how to fix up bikes!
