Julia and I (Oliver) are happily married and committed to longlife learning. After New Year's Eve, we asked ourselves what we wanted for our family and especially for our children and came up with the idea to make an around the world trip. Our home country is Switzerland and we are living in the heart of it at Lake Lucerne.
We have three very talented daughters which turn 10 years (Liv), 8 years (Jolie) and 5,5 years (Evia) when we start our trip in August 2024. The idea is to travel around the globe within 12 to 14 months and stay up to 6 weeks in one place to meet the culture and to bring our skills and competencies into local projects. We can very well imagine working 4-5 hours a day and, if possible, actively involving our children.
Our aim is to use the journey to finely observe what is happening to us and, above all, to our consciousness, our values and our family system. Our idea is to capture those wide experiences in writing and some small video interviews of our family members during the journey. Of course if you want to give us an interview we are absolutely open for this ;-)
Our kids attend actual Montessori Pre-School and Primarily-School and learn in their velocity, working in projects with high creativity and in parallel they form their social relationship skills. In their part time they do sports (karate, skiing, hiking, horse riding, dancing), dog sitting, singing and play instruments like cello, violin and piano. Beyond that our kids adapt fast to any environment which we "trained" on our campervan holidays where we spent up to 5 weeks in New Zealand, Sweden and twice in France and travelled through big parts of any country.
Dear workaway host, what about a Zoom call to get to now each other and to discuss the opportunity to get engaged in your project(s)?
Brief background on Julia und Oliver:
Julia is an entrepreneur from the education sector. Within 13 years she built with her co-founder a Kita (day care center) in Lucerne with a staff of 16 employees and up to 60 children. She positioned the Kita as a place to gain the roots for life. In 2023, she handed over her shares in the organisation to her co-founder. She then founded a new company focussing on helping people, especially children, to release existing blockages and limitations. Her schooling at a Waldorf school (Rudolf Steiner) shaped her high social and practical skills. Julia travelled a lot and stayed for 11 months in Australia (work & travel e.g. fruit picking, au-pair), 12 months in the US and 9 months in France as an au-pair to manage the household and children.
Oliver is an entrepreneur, author and speaker and spent more than 25 years in the IT industry. He worked for national and international software vendors including a Silicon Valley start-up in IT-Security which turned into a unicorn. With his own company he is focussing on supporting corporations and organizations on healthy growth. He is very interested in the element of water due to the current and upcoming worldwide challenges and decided to start a World Water Movement and to invest in water technologies after his return. Next to the business world he is on a spiritual journey for more than 15 years. He went e.g. twice to Sahara to stay up in the dunes for one week only with a sleeping bag but together with shamanes, bedouins and some camels - really digital detox and a great possibility to train his own intuition.Interests
