Description
General wood and concrete skills !
I'm 44 with a lot of various experience.
Just started my 2 years journey in the carpentry school to learn woodwork in a professional way, so I would prefer to do wooden structural work, if I could choose in your place.
Some years ago 'retired' from international corporate job, continued to take care of my own land & build several small houses for myself from own wood, now I would like to explore other places for possible partial or permanent relocation in the future, especially a family farm somewhere south of Portugal or Portuguese islands in the Atlantic. I love to be around the animals.
Although I'm not a professional builder, but during several last years learned a lot in general construction, especially making wooden structures, as well concrete work. Of course I love to work in the forest, on the land, and with the animals.
For the future, I would like to find a farm, where I could stay long term as a full time multi skill worker (professional carpentry, general maintenance, work with animals, etc.), where accommodation & food is covered, as well there is possibility to make at least a minimum salary to cover extra expenses like travel, medical, clothes, vocation, etc.
At the moment I'm interested to come and help people just in exchange for food and accommodation, so I can experience how is daily life in their location , as it should help me to decide what exactly I want and where for the future. I have enough funds to stay in the hotel and not to work, but I could never get so deep cultural and local skill experience being just a tourist, as well I find very boring not to work and it is so great to make something practical.
I have traveled a lot in my previous life, so sightseeing is not my main interest, instead I don't mind to work longer hours, if the work is not extremely physically exhaustive, and this could be appreciated with all the daily meals covered and some local trips with the host around.
I always want to make my hosts happy and to meet their expectations, so this exchange makes great sense as well for them. I hope I can do it for you too. Let's talk about it.
