Description
Hi!!
We are Tom and Louise! a marketeer/historian and a cardiology Nurse ! Little bit of a mix there.
We have just finished a 7 week trip around Europe in our mini van and are now planning to fly out to South East Asia.
Starting off in Vietnam from the 29th of September, then heading on to Cambodia, Thaliand, and then maybe Indonesia, Malaysia, before hopefully heading to Australia and New Zealand....
So Hi, I'm Louise - the Nurse. I'm currently on a sabbatical to go travelling! (until March 2026) An absolute dream of mine, and I'm so grateful to the people who have helped me to get here.
I am looking for experiences that are completely different to our own lives, something that challenges me to get out of my comfort zone, to grow and learn more about myself, but hopefully much more about the culture across our beautiful world. I would love to work with animals, I'm not shy of hard work and i'm not too bad at cooking or a bit of DIY either.
Hi, I'm Tom! The marketing and sports administration one. This year, I've left my role as a Senior Marketing Executive to embark on a sabbatical with Louise.
With this opportunity, my goal is to try everything and anything, and this journey is a chance to, and i know it is a cliche, truly expand my worldview. The goal will be to immerse ourselves in local cultures and different ways of living. I have over 10 years experience in events, sport administration, marketing and content creation. More importantly though, I make a mean Spaghetti Bolognese and love to cook.
We would love to find some placements that are no more than 2-3 weeks (please contact if there is alternatives / options - we can work out a plan) that can help immerse us in to the life of a local, enjoy the company of people and share experiences and knowledge.
Cant wait to meet you.

More details about your skills
Louise :
I'm a fan of physical work, and not too bad at a bit of DIY, having redecorated our house, including wall panelling, painting, tiling, sanding, staining, and my proudest moment of making a fixed wooden bench in our kitchen (or "banquette" - a bench with storage)
I have kept a small vegetable patch before and managed to produce some pretty good, potatoes, tomatoes, courgettes and squashes! I love a veggie!
I love and have grown up with dogs and cats in the home, as well as guinea pigs. I also worked in a pet store when I was studying and was responsible for bathing, treating them for skin conditions, medicines and cleaning them out. I love donkeys, Horses, cows and would love the opportunity to work with any of these and of course elephants one day.
Although a nurse, I'm not first aid trained but general health and management of minor injuries I would be able to support with.
Tom : Like Louise, I am a highly motivated and responsible individual with a diverse skill set that I’m keen to apply to a new project. I've always been relied upon to take on new tasks, from being the go-to dog walker in my family and neighbourhood to babysitting for family friends as a teenager. This has given me a lot of experience in caring for both children and animals, and a deep appreciation for the trust and responsibility that comes with it.
On a professional level, my background in marketing and content creation means I have strong skills in video and content creation. I can also help with more focused digital marketing tasks like CRM management and email marketing, which can be great for a business looking to connect with its customers. Additionally, my experience in sports administration, budgeting, and accounting means I am highly organised and detail-oriented, ready to assist with any administrative or financial tasks that might come up.
Ultimately, I am a quick learner who loves to be useful. I'm looking forward to using my skills to contribute to a host's project and to fully immerse myself in local life.

What else ...
We both have discovered a new found love for hiking and working for those stunning views. We also really enjoy sports, and that community teamwork feel, aswell as cycling, reading and playing cards as our other pass times.
Louise particularly enjoys badminton, and plays for the local county back home and likes to run from time to time...(not more than 5km though).
Tom is (unusually for the UK) very into his baseball, he has had the opportunities to represent Great Britain at a few world conferences and world cups for the sport, as as the British Baseball President, a volunteering role.
