Description

Looking for hosts in Liguria from Early April 2026. Unfortunately my availability is limited to just a few weeks. I'd really love to meet some people in this region and learn some skills involved with gardening, renovation, and caring for animals.

Hello! My name is Tim and I am a long-time traveler always seeking new experiences and skills. I'm always striving to learn something new and Workaway has given me so many great skills over the years. I live in Alaska and work as a boat captain and fishing guide, so I love a good adventure!

My ultimate dream is to find or build a community in Italy or southern France and transition to living there in the next few years with my partner. We are not exactly looking for full self sufficiency, but rather want to find that special place where we can work a little land and lead a rewarding lifestyle- and hopefully be part of a community of others nearby doing the same where we can celebrate together. I hope
to use workaway to find community and maybe just that special little place, to
learn from and help realize our vision. I am in a lucky position in life where I have dual citizenship and an established seasonal job, so I have been jumping between the US and Italy often.

I love to meet creative practical people who value community and hard work while just having fun with life.

I have many skills you'll see below, many taken from Workaway projects in the past. I am proficient, safe, and tidy with tools, handiwork, fixing and building things or making broken things work. I have lived and traveled in many places around the United States as well as a modest list of other countries around the world, mostly in Europe and Asia and I'm no stranger to Workaway and I understand the importance of clear communication. I am a highly flexible, tidy, respectful, enthusiastic and positive person with many stories and positivity to bring to you!

I live in Alaska and have worked in tourism for over ten years, now I work as a boat captain & charter fisherman in the summer. Alaska is an unforgiving place and I have learned countless skills over the years and we very much have a "figure out how to make anything work" attitude up there. I also work as a camera technician in TV broadcast as a side job. In Alaska we have a growing tourism industry and I have worked for years as a lead kayak/bicycle/hiking/fishing guide, business operator, office manager and maintenance person so I have a multitude of skills surrounding tourism, professionalism and hospitality.

***In the case of any paid positions, I am a US and EU dual citizen so I have the right to work and reside in the EU.
