  • Description

My name is Thomas, I'm from France and I'm 29 years old.
I love nature, hiking, and traveling. I'm interested in the arts, such as music, cinema, and drawing. I have already had the opportunity to travel for four months in Colombia, two months in Scotland, six months in England, and five months in West Africa, where I experienced Workaway for the first time in August 2022, more specifically in Ghana and Senegal.
Since then, I have returned to work in France, but my contract as a water and environmental engineering project manager will soon come to an end, so I am leaving again in August 2026 for Japan with my girlfriend.
We will stay there for at least three months, and it seems obvious to us that we should do workaway there to discover the Japanese people and their culture in the best possible way.
During my previous trips, I discovered that I especially enjoy “slow” adventures that allow me to enjoy the journey and take the time to meet people along the way. What's more, I believe that to truly discover a place, it's interesting to meet the people who live there. So, participating in a local project with local people can only be an incredible experience. Giving my time to help people carry out a project is a good way to thank them for introducing me to their country. This was confirmed by my wonderful experiences in Ghana and Senegal. In Ghana, I was welcomed for two weeks by Lawrence and his family, who introduced me to life in small villages and the cultivation of corn and cassava, and with whom I began building a shelter for children who had to travel far from their families to attend school. In Senegal, Dianko's extended family welcomed me for two weeks in a peaceful haven on the Atlantic coast, surrounded by papaya and banana trees.
I hope to repeat the enriching experiences we had during our trip to Japan, meet incredible people, and participate in fulfilling and interesting projects.
To this end, my partner Heïdi and I are ready to get involved in any kind of project and give our time and energy. We can do DIY, cleaning, gardening, planting, clearing land, cooking, teaching French, participating in artistic projects, and much more.
We look forward to meeting you along the way.
